Make a 320X240 png format transparent image name it evo-dark.png nd replace it wid the file located in framework res.apk > res ldpi

Dude i used vts studio for decompiling then went to styles.xml and at style=theme changed dark_backgroung to transparent and in window background there was background there was backgroung_tj_dark so i went to drawable idpi searched for the image and made another png of same name dimension etc then i compiled it.... After i moved it to system/framework.... also set permission but i found that after restarting many of my apps got force close and also the background became black.... Therefore i had to restore it.......
Pkease sir tell me how to solve it????????
I m in dying need of making the overall ui transparent:screwy::screwy::screwy:

please how to mod a status bar in esiest way
while i have tried using app manager he is asking for adb what is adb
i have installed adb drivers but no response please do yhe needfull
Try uot kitchen, very easy.
Here the site -> http://uot.dakra.lt/
Click kitchen and mod everything you want. Go to the tab that you can upload your systemui.apk and framework-res.apk. Go to summary and submit your work. Click pickup and wait you file appears. Install through recovery. Done.
ADB means Android Debug Bridge. If you're using apk multi-tool or apk manager, it asks for adb. It's very confusing and you may have to set the PATH variable, maybe download the SDK and all that. Use Apktool. I use it all the time for decompiling apks and it's the best for me. You can find the links to download it and the guide here.

U have to replace icons, with original..and the resolution and format should be same..
Example: If the original icon resolution is 48x48 then u should change ur image resolution to 48x48 or near like 52x52 not 200x200 and if the original icon is like Wifi_on.PNG then u have to rename your icon in wifi_on.PNG and then just replace... clear???

If u r going to change only the icons then winrar or 7zip is enough for u. And if u want to edit xmls then u need apktool or apkmulti tool etc.

Well this PNG files stored in framework-res.apk/Res/drawable-ldpi/ac_android_progressbar_indeterminate_holo.PNG
U will found 5 to 6 files with this name ac_android_progressbar_indeterminate_holo1.png, ac_android_progressbar_indeterminate_holo2.png,3,4..etc u just have to replace those files..
U will understand when u will go there....
Follow this for basic THEMING

Well I only want to change the color of "circled" loading bar and" installing" bar
I mean the color of spinner I want to change it to blue.....
You are greattttttt.....
I've been trying to use 7-zip and Winrar for replacing png's but still no luck and at the end I get bootloop when i goin to press power button, why does this happened?
To stay away from Bootlops U must decompile and recompile the framework even if u r goin to chnge only Some PNGs...Use Advanced Apk tool By @BDFreak ..This Tool Doesnot gives any error while recompiling franework ...
And For Editing Installing Bar You Should Edit Some Xmls Also Along With Png files ...
Google -Ics Sliders or Ics Progress Bar...Both are same guides...Follow any1 which u like

Hey I have not edited the mms.apk which u have told. But you just asked for theming so i can help the simple theming guide
Use apktool to decompile these apk files after which you get the folder which contains res, smali etc files
As you are not modding just want to change the theme go to the res folder and open the drawable-hdpi,drawable-ldpi.
Replace the images you want to change with that from s3 and build it ....
Voila you got a themed app ...
Incase you want to edit the UI also like by adding more buttons kind of thing then you might consider doing some stuff around with the layouts and smali code..
In case of smali, learn from this site ..
http://androidcracking.blogspot.in/search/label/smali
Gud Luck.
Thanks i think this might help you,
optimus
PS:I think most of the res required for system files are present in framework.
Use the search button...
There are a lot of tuts forit...
But You can Also use APK Manager, its easy but not very good as apjtool...

It won't work that way anyhow!
@op u have to fully change its smali files in order to do so.....
OR u can simply
Use apktojava
1.Select opera mini.apk
2.Create eclipse workspace
3.Open eclipse/use existing projects
4.Select ur opera mini workspace
5.In the java file where there is com.opera.blabla
6.Rightclick over it/refractor/change name
7.Enter com.blabla.blabla
8.Select save/replace all the occerence
9.Finish the project, and you are done!
