I want to buy a Nexus 4 but before I do this I have some questions to the phone
When you have a bootloop after you flash a ROM what must you do ? Cause the phone has an internal battery.
How long will it take if I order the phone by Google ?
Has it any bugs ?

1. Hold power button for 10 seconds
2. It's sold out in the U.S. Assuming it's in stock in your country, 4 days if you're lucky, 2 months if you're really unlucky.
3. Yes it does. Every code does. But you can assume better user experience that most other smartphones.

With every electronic gadget using Lithium-ion batteries nowadays, it doesn't really matter how/when you charge it.
Some would argue to make sure to allow a full discharge from a full charge from a battery calibration point of view, so the battery meter is more accurate. It wouldn't affect the health of the battery itself either way.
Things like memory effect doesn't apply to lithium-ion. How often you charge it and how much you charge it (full or partial charge etc.) doesn't affect it much either. The only 2 things that can potential kill a lithium-ion is high temperature and letting it discharge far too low to the point that it cannot be charged up again. Note that all electronic devices will power off way before it even reaches this threshold.

Read this in a different thread when i was unboxing my nexus 7, i let mine sit for a while on the charger before i turned it on, but it came charged already. So far i have not let my nexus drain to 0% and the battery life on it is great, it can go for a entire day.

I too just got one. May be came out of the box with 4.2. After I signed in I checked for an update manually, and it immediately upgraded to 4.2.1. I then rooted immediately! Battery has been impressive so far.

No luck for me i guess it shows that there is an update it downloads it and boot into recovery attempts to install but then an android robot laying down whit his chest open and a red triangle appears ?

Sounds like it may be a corrupt download. Unless you plan to remain on the stock ROM just unlock/root it and then install what ever ROM you like.

You said your phone shuts off after hard use, and you said it is really hot when it shuts down. This sounds like a hardware problem. When the processor gets too hot, the device kills power to protect it from frying. Almost every computer has a similar last-resort power-off feature to protect its hardware.
Now the real question: What is making the device overheat? Most likely this is a hardware problem, but there is a remote possibility that the problem could be a rouge app.
A factory reset will remove the apps you installed. If there is an app running an infinite loop in the background, a factory reset might fix the problem. (I remember you said you are running stock without root, so there are no firmware issues. The only possible software issues are with your apps.)
I am sorry to say that you might have a defective board.

But why start doing that after a month of using it? The only new I did was using the maps app for more than 4hours... A friend toll me to clear cache on map apps...

If the problem really is hardware, it was a defect that made it past quality control. It's the same reason why a new hard drive might fail after a week of usage--infant mortality. Infant mortality is quite rare, but it does happen nevertheless.
Fortunately, Google's replacement procedure is quite nice compared to most other companies. If Google sends you a replacement, you can keep your existing phone until the replacement arrives. This way, you are not left without a phone temporarily.
Update! Did a factory reset and root it and it's good now! Looks like an app was causing the rebooting... Thanks for the help!

I've converted my Optimus G into a Nexus 4 and am wondering if anyone has tried to use MultiROM with their handset. Apparently it functions for the Nexus 7 with what limited knowledge I have in reading up on it. The reason I ask is because I'd ultimately like to run stock Android on some form along with Ubuntu Phone which has released is developer version to our phone recently, and this can be accomplished on the Nexus 7.
Should I even bother asking at this point I don't know, but figured its worth a shot as I love flashing roms whenever is convenient. I don't believe that Boot Manager in the play store is yet supported for the Nexus 4 at this point and if it were I doubt it would allow for ubuntu phone.

Because Optimus G is G+4, but Nexus 4 is just 4
It has ran just fine until the last month or so. Using an early cm 10.1 room with capacitive buttons and 8gb sd recognition. Lately my phone will randomly power off for no apparent reason so I will look to refresh my handset soon.
The Optimus G is considered a more reliable phone over the Nexus 4 from what I've read. It also allows for storage beyond 16gb since the att version includes that on board and allows external storage also. There is a HD ask to allow for 16gb internal recognized which I have not yet performed. No issues with my phone but rare overheating which I remedy by turning off my phone for it to cool down for a few mins at best.

Multi ROM Issue
What has actually happened is that I installed an app that flashed a new patch that is not compatible with multi rom and now my phone wont turn on! i have a backup and its stored in my sd card! Can someone help me how should I Just transfer the files from my pen drive to my phone's internal storage where i can restore my backup!
Please Help asap
Just picked up a p600 and has been working fine on the CM 2.0 ROM. Today however i try to turn on and no matter which buttons nothing is happening. Only once I got it into the recovery and choose to boot system but again black screen. Have I a did and am I better off switching for snapdragon version?

When you can enter download mode (von down+power) try to flash stock rom with odin.
Wont even turn on at all black screen

Its dead nothing happening with any button combos. Battery was 90%. Losing faith with Samsung had to get a replacement for a note 3 previously and have now switched to a nexus 5. May get a refund on this and wait on the nexus 10 2014 model

My condolences mate maybe there is a way to reset it with ADB commands or something? Wait till you get another answer, I don't know too much about these things myself.
I tried unplugging battery for 15mins opened it very carefully. But no luck. I'm just really annoyed as I lost data and its rooted so swap is only option
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
What I didn't understand is why you not re-flash a ROM via recovery or flash a stock ROM via Odin to see if this solve your problem. That will be one of my first steps.
PS. Other options are connect the device in the black-screen-mode and check via adb if you can see anything. Maybe an access to log cat is her possible and to get an output to see what goes wrong.
I've been having the same problem.. I just bought mine on Monday. It has either shutdown it self or just doesn't want to turn on, but I have to press the power button and +- volume buttons to turn it back on.. Now, I'm just waiting for it to do it again so I can return it...

Hey guys.
Not sure if I'm posting in the right place but I've got to find out if it's just me!
Updated about 2 weeks ago to 4.2.2 via OTA and my battery life has dropped drastically.
The one thing I've always loved about the note series is the massive battery and the note 3 didn't disappoint until recently.
The phone used to last anything upto 20 hours with fair usage but since the update I get no longer than about 3-4 hours!
I'm not rooted and I've even performed a factory reset on my device and not installed any apps.
I've even turned cellular data off and left the phone in my pocket without even unlocking it yet still only 2 - 3 hours life.
Anyone else having the same issue or know of any solution?
I appreciate that downgrading back to 4.2.2 isn't possible but surely there must be something else I can do?
any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Note my screen shot of firmware version for you guys to compare.

Are you serious, from 20 hour to 3-4 hours? That is very strange. I am still on 4.3 but waiting for 4.4.2 for my region, what region version are you using?
Yeah can't believe it either. I've had to use a second phone just for work purposes.
I'm in the UK with an unlocked handset. Just received the update OTA.

Im having the very same problem. There are various posts on the net about it on various forums but there seems to be no definitive fix. Very Odd because it definately is affecting a large number of people - but here on xda - dev there dont seem to be too many?
