Finally the ICS update for the T-Mobile SGH-T859 tablet is out. You can update it via kies or I went out and found the download link and flashed it through Odin.
Product Code: TMB
Latest firmware: T859UVLH6/T859TMBLH6/T859UVLH6/T859UVLH6
Modified: 8/29/2012 3:47:53 PM
Filename: SGH-T859_TMB_1_20120829154725_5w6teayx37.zip.enc2
After updating in Kies you can follow this procedure to install CWM touch recovery
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1807219
To root you can install SU through this file and flash in CWM recovery
http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/GalaxyTab10.1/rooting/GalaxyTabHacks.com_SuperUser.zip
If Kies fails you can download the firmware file to flash via Odin
http://www.hotfile.com/dl/169998795/cdb55fe/T859UVLH6_T859TMBLH6_TMB.zip.html
You need to ask T-Mobile. It's up to them to push the update.

In that thread, people are reporting that the CWM linked there does not work for the T859.
Can anyone confirm that CWM works for T859, and point to a correct download link for it?

So, for posterity, each version of the 10.1 has its own CWM. Here is the link to all of them:

Can that be done with out a PC? I just flashed the zip and seemed to have to have no recovery or root?
Here is the link to the full Rom update for the EU Lte version.
Just tested it and works beautiful.
Not forget after flashing you have to reflash with ADB CWM recovery again and flash latest SuperSu version in CWM to regain root.

Yes, Flash the latest flashable SuperSu with CWM.

You are probably using an outdated version of SuperSU, that apparently doesn't support latest Marshmallow builds. Try this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133

And BTW, this was the fastest conversation I ever had on XDA

Then flash it from bootloader, it's the easiest way. Connect your phone to the PC, while in bootloader mode. And then flash it using the following command:
Code:
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img

No need for a donation or thanks button. You just get it resolved, it will be sufficient for me. Is your ROM synced with r25 or r24? It just came out a day ago. Just cross check.

So I have root (March update, 7.1.1). I can install the factory image of 7.1.2 without losing data right? (by deleting -w from the bat file ie)
And will I be able to root it again using the boot to root.img process, right? Thanks to anyone who knows and can help.

Boot to root was for 7.1. 7.1.1 and 7.1.2 are different. See my post in the thread below. Second to the last post has it all for you.

Where did those ADB versions come from? I fastboot install of sideload, and I haven't installed this update yet, but I haven't had any problems.
This is what mine from platform tools says:

flashed all images via fastboot manually, and working fine.

I don't use the full SDK, so maybe that's the difference. I use the minimal ADB and fastboot from Google as linked by Android Police here: http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/0...ble-without-full-sdk-android-studio-download/.
It was last updated on March 13, but ADB hasn't changed since last December. That doesn't explain the huge version difference, unless that is the SDK version itself.
