Hi all, about 3 days i just search and search how to boot up my phone.
Used RSD 4.9, 5.3.1, 5.7
I downloaded jordan sbf firstly and successfully loaded up my phone, then i rooted it and installed 0.6.1 bootmenu by shell command (by apk somewhy i couldn't) any try of upgrade by flashing CWM to cm10 or cm7 again faild in just logo stuck.
Then i tried other sbf and always got failed msg over RSD. angry i flashed with RSD mb526 SBF on my (MB525) successfully but then M logo stucked up and never got it booting. from then when i tried jordan sbf i failed, tried any mb525 failed only mb526 which only stuck and M logo successed.
I have to say getting into CWM never work, only bootloader white screen.
I need help to figure out what to do and how to get it work again... i read about BL7 and such i don't understand it i just want to get it on...
I need help...
Thanks!

Hi,
I bought a Defy+ (2.3.6), then I flashed CM9 (4.0.4), and after that I flashed Codename Android (4.0.3).
I wanted to put back Original version in my Defy+ (2.3.6), but RDSlite said "flashing process error...", then a friend who helped me a lot using my Defy+ told me to try to flash Defy ROM on my Defy+, I did it, RDSlite worked, RDSlite said "finished", and now my phone won't boot.
I can't access to the BootLoader, and the Recovery, they don't work.
Please I need you help me please

Ohh man.. your phone is screwed big time... You shouldn't have flashed the defy ROM... Hope the service center fixes it..
take the battery out and put it back in. hold down volume up and power the phone on.
Hook it up to RSD lite and flash a 2.3.6 rom from herehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966537
depending what one you had before try to flash the same DFP version. I made the mistake of flashing 2311 and cant donwngrade so I can only flash them SBF files now
Even though your screen wont show the bootloader RSD lite should see your phone. Your phone wont charge in this state so be careful with thte battery.
You may already of flattened it if RSD lite wont show its connected, Try to charge it externally or do the macqyver method and try again.

Have you send your defy to service center?
Sent from my MB526 using XDA
try my method you will not have to send it back!
Might take you a few tries (was more like 10 for me) but the right SBF will work for you. Its impossible to brick the defy+ I done it 3 times but the first was the hardest. From then I have known my version and I cant downgrade so only that one will work. So If a ROM fails I flash that version it works all the time every time. Its a matter of finding it!
noob warning!
Problem: I am not able to see any text options in stock recovery mode. Just a yellow exclamation (!) with a green robot in the centre on a black screen. I feel something is wrong here. I am on stock rom (froyo)
Things I have done in the past (in order performed):
1. Rooted using SuperOneClick
2. Overclocked using SetVsel
What I am trying to do:
I am new to android and want to install CM7.2 stable release on my defy.
I wanted to take a backup before proceeding and thats when I discovered the stock recovery problem. I installed 2ndinit( and CWM Recovery 5 with it) and able to boot into custom recovery. Took Nandroid backup.
The big Question
Should I proceed with CM7.2 install or am I about to brick my phone?
How can I fix my stock recovery or will it get fixed after CM7.2 is flashed?
You pressed both the volume keys after the phone turns up??
neo.ank is right, you need to press both Volume keys at the same time for the options to appear.
But, bear in mind that you shouldn't install ROMs in stock recovery, but in the custom one!

I've been here about 6 months but what's wrong with the stock recovery. Just asking I always installed cwm first after an sbf flash. But last time I attempted to flash cm9 in stock recovery for the hell of it and it worked.

Stock recovery checks signatures, and doesn't allow installing anything non-Motorola. If you're lucky and somehow have Android recovery 2e (the one that doesn't check the signatures) - it means you're probably capable of flashing kernels and anything. Otherwise you shouldn't be able to flash anything.
Hey, this is interesting! What sbf did you flash NI55AN?

Thankyou all but my question still remains unanswered
I tried multiple ways of going into stock recovery.
1. Used tools like rom toolbox, rom manager, etc to reboot into recovery
2. Reboot to recovery via adb
3. Used the just the power + vol down to see a menu which gives me 2 options stock or custom recovery.
All methods lead me to the same problem. black screen + yellow ! + green robot
No menu options. The only way to reboot the phone is to remove battery and insert it again. Is it because I missed any step before rooting or installing CWM recovery?
Note: I never tried booting to recovery prior to rooting or installing CWM so I am not aware of what exactly I should expect ...

Yeah, I accessed the recovery with Vol Up + Power + Home, but only when the phone was booted up fully. He was trying to restore the old ROM in CWM but it gave him error flashing boot image, then he restarted the phone and got the bootloop problem, so theres no way to restart it into HBOOT. May be you bricked your phone. You can try solutions mentioned below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1134975
USB-jig FTW
It's not bricked..if you're seeing anything on the screen, it should be recoverable. And even hard bricked phone can be saved with the UnBrickablemod.

Okay heres the thing. Easy Reboot Recovery does nothing, just opens and closes, I guess since it kinda doesn't recognize the USB from the phone. Then I used SGS Rescue Kit, launched OneClick.jar, connected the phone, clicked unsoft brick and it said Sucessful, the phone started showing the Samsung logo, but then nothing happens. Tried Easy Reboot Recovery again, but nothing. Any ideas?
Can you still access download mod ( Volume Key down + Menu + Power ) ?
If yes you can download a stock ROM that includes PIT PDA PHONE CSC and BOOTLOADER files, this page contains links to all theses files :
http://www.androidgen.fr/tutoriel-s...id-gingerbread-2-3-6-odin-article-2110-2.html
Now once you download these files just start Odin and put:
s1_odin_20100512.pit in PIT
CODE_I9000XWJVZ_CL762604_REV03_user_low_ship.tar.md5 in PDA
MODEM_I9000XXJVT_REV_00_CL1064602.tar.md5 in MODEM
GT-I9000-CSC-HOME-MULTI-OXAJVT.tar.md5 in CSC

Hi Everyone,
I seem to have "bricked' my Defy!
My intention was to put CM10 Android 4.1.2 for the Defy ROM on, and everything seemed to work during the installation, however now the phone won't boot past the "Motorola Symbol", or the "little Android Man with the triangle and exclamation mark (floating above him!)" - depending on whether or not I try to enter the boot menu.
These are the steps that I followed -
1). Rooted with SuperOneClick
2). Installed bootmenu & the ClockWorkMod recovery (using the second half of this page for instructions)
3). Flashed froyo (kernel-froyo-222-179-4-signed.zip)
4). Wiped data / factory reset + wiped cache parttion
5). Installed ROM from zip file (on the SD card)
The mistake that I think I made was not rebooting enough between the steps, e.g.: flashing froyo, wiping, installing ROM, etc. I probably should have rebooted between every step above (the wisdom of retrospect!!!).
At any rate I cannot boot the phone into bootmenu / clockworkmod, instead I just get the little android guy, with the hovering exclamation mark contained within an ominous triangle! There are no options on the screen, and physically pressing the volume up / down, and / or power button has no effect.
Suggestions on how to get clockworkmod back are highly sort after.
Kind Regards,
Davo
Do it correctly from the begining:
start RDSlite and choose appropriate sbf.-> power off the phone -> press vol up and power for 3 sec. ->release power ->attach USB cable and wait till connect ->flash sbf ->with superoneclick do the root ->copy the ROM+gapps+(optional) custom kernel to sdcard -> install 2ndinitdefy v2.3 apk-> reboot ->run 2init -> reboot in bootmenu (or press vol- when blue LED) -> from custom recovery wipe data/cache, wipe dalvik(from advanced) ->install ROM and gapps +(optional custom )kernel in that order ->wipe again cache and dalvik ->reboot ->enjoy
Encountered a driver error but overcame it...

I think that I bricked it even more...!
Hi pgreed,
I have successfully flashed sbf using RSD Lite, however now my phone won't boot at all. I can't get it to power up, the light won't even come on unfortunately. If I plug the phone into a power outlet and push the power button a white light comes on, but otherwise nothing.
I think that I may have truly bricked it this time! Any further help will be greatly appreciated.

You can't brick defy so easy. Pull out the battery and put it back with the vol- pressed. If nothing appear keep press the vol- button and press the power for 3-5 sec. depress power and keep press vol- until the boot menu (defy recovery) appear. From there do a wipe of data/cache and dalvik and reboot.
If unluckly nothing happen in 2-3 minute then do another flash of sbf (attention of which sbf you use!!).
Thanks again - unfortunately the only screen that I get up when pressing the various volume button / power button combinations is one with a little green "android man", above him is floating an ominous triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle! ~
Got there in the end...
Hi pgreed,
Thanks for all of your help, I got there in the end, wherever there is...! LOL
At any rate your instructions are the ones that I will follow in future, and I won't be bothering with ADB or typing any commands at a command prompt.
Ultimately I had to try a couple of different sbf files before coming across one that would play nice.
To enter the recovery menu I had to press both the up / down volume buttons, and the power button all at once, but I suspect that this was due to the specific sbf file that I installed.
Anyway all said and done I now have a Defy with CM10 and gapps for Jellybean. Was it all worth it, highly debatable - but I am passing the phone onto a friend, so hopefully he will enjoy it more than his current old school phone.
I will continue to stick with my HTC Sensation, which in my mind is a pretty hard phone to beat!
Kind Regards,
Davo
Nice to see that you manage to do it. Just the record: when you have those android robot with triangle if you've pressed both vol + and - the recovery menu has to appear.
Yes, the ADB method is correct, but is more prone to give headache.

You don't need to boot into fastboot mode.
When you insert battery, just press Power button + Vol Up and Vol Down button simultaneously to boot into recovery mode.

The problem is quite weird.
The phone is running stock lollipop ROM, not rooted and no custom recovery.
I can get only into the bootloader and connect it to my PC.
The phone turns on perfectly with no problem when I remove my battery and plug it into the charger.
So, is this a battery related issue?.
The battery was low when this problem occurred!
This video sums up my problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncSIZ8SyXXM
Remove and reinsert the battery, connect the charger, wait for about 10 minutes and only then turn on the phone and see if that helps. Can you get into recovery through vol up+vol down+power buttons?

I tried removing the battery and then reinserting and connecting to the charger now, but it did not work.
I can't get into recovery also.
I can only get into the bootloader.
If you're having a PC and you don't need the device data
just re-flashing the device will be best option!!!
here is a link to the Stock ROMs
hope so this will help
Ok.
Thank you all for your help
