Go here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1816560 , download the EUU for 3.01. Put you tablet in APX mode (make sure your computer recognizes your tab as an APX device) and reflash. There are lots of posts that will tell you how to flash an EUU. Most important, make sure you have your CPUID. You will definately need it. Once you have reflashed stock 3.01, you can go to the market, update literlly about 4 or 5 times, and you will be back to stock 4.03 ICS, or lower if you choose to stop upgrading sooner.
Much easier to flash a custom ROM, especially since you already have the correct bootloader. Have youvtried re-flexx shellshock?
Thanks a lot for answering me and for the Re-flexx shellshock i don't even know what it is sry I am a newby in those stuff I will try what u said hope it works.

Hello,
I bought an Iconia A500 in China and I have a few problems (device not recognised on market.android.com and limited chinese version of Android market app).
I think that the solution would be to flash a new rom to get rid of the chinese system.
Which rom do you advice me to flash (just need something easy to do and stable).
Thanks for your help !
Ok, as nobody answers, I list what I've been trying :
After having rooted my A500 and installed Acer Recovery, I tried to install the USA OTA rom from Acer recovery but it did not work (I get the exclamation mark + green bee screen when I reboot).
I installed the morelocale2 app which is supposed to fix some localisation problems (language, etc). It kinds of works, but does not fix my android market issue.
I found some OTA update stock ROM (can't post the link, google : "Acer Iconia A500 Original and OTA Update Stock ROM Package List") but I don't know which one corresponds to my A500 (my build number is : xxx1.135.02xxx).
I don't know what to do now ?
CAN ANYBODY HELP ME ????
the update you downloaded that failed to install: did you decrypt it first? As far as the version number goes, that is irrelevant if you are talking about a full rom. Another alternative its to use a custom rom, such as the excellent lightspeed or taboonay roms, both found in the development section.if this doesn't clear everything up for you, just let me know
hi there...
its a while i occupy myself with android etc...
i updated my a501 tab last night so i could use iconia root and recognized...that i lost the 3g functions..
the a501 model is now overwritten (a500)..and runs HC 3.1
i dont want to go on HC3.2 so i asked myself if there is a way to pursue a downgrade to HC 3.0.1..did someone make a backup for the 3.0.1 rom??
i dont want a custom rom (only then if there isnt another way.)
on the acer website..there aren't OFW neither..
is it possible...that a full reset would take my tab back to HC3.0.1 (model a501)
thx for the help..^^

Upss...you missed one step before flashing another ROM, create full backup from recovery..
You have different version number for each region..if i,m not mistaken, correct me if i'm wrong.
There's a thread in the development section share stock rom, but it only for A500 model..

oh yes...i think you are right =S
but isn't there a method to overwrite the version number/ model number etc.?
its weird that on my quick guide booklet "ICONIA TAB A500/A501" is written on the top.
i never noticed that before..=S
i think i need the stock rom for A501...HC3.0.1 because i rooted my tab while i was on HC 3.0..and everything worked fine...any other custom roms would influence the performance...
downgrade possible?
hello im about to downgrade my tab to 3.0.1 and try to rooting it again..
Im a bada dev and new to tablets..so i would like to know moore about rooted tabs etc..
Google isnt helpfull at all and there are a few questions i would like to ask..
One question is..
Are there installers which are similar to the app ''Cydia'' known from the IOS jailbreaking scene, where i can download additional applications or themes?
Having root access to the OS sounds great but..once your device is rooted..there is no installer like ''Cydia'', which allows me to hav full access to the android market, (as far as im concerned)..
Thanks in advance..
This guide is my nifty-ness but the combined intelligence of two brilliant members. Their names will come as we go thru the steps.
FOR NORMAL USERS, SIMPLE STEPS:
1. Restock your tab to KI1 (Kay-eye-one )
2. Download Overcome 1.2.1 ROM and its custom recovery
3. Flash both
4. Clear Cache and Dalvik Cache
5. Download stock honeycomb theme from here
6. Using recovery flash from internal storage
ENJOY
Who said it isnt good to be normal?
SIMPLIFIED FOR NOOBS:
NOTE: IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT ODIN IS, OR WHAT TAR FILES ARE OR HOW TO TAKE YOUR TAB TO DOWNLOAD MODE, REMEMBER, NEITHER DID I, AND I AM DUMBER THAN YOU, SO YOU WILL GET BY. JUST BROWSE THRU OR ASK ANY MOD ( ) UNDERSTAND HOW THINGS WORK AND COME BACK, OR FOLLOW THE STEPS IN THE LINKS BELOW TO THE DOT.
Go to this thread:
[6.Oct.2011][ROM][P75xx] ◄► Overcome 10.1 Series v1.2.1 ◄► Recovery v5.1.2.3 ◄►
Thank you alterbridge86
Do exactly as it says, you might have to download up to 1GB of files and you will be redirected to another link which will give you an equally detailed guide of how to do it.
Once done, if you do end up on your home screen again, you've made it.
Next go to this thread:
[THEME]*AOSP HONEYCOMB*v1.3*SO DARK, SO AOSP*(16.10.2011)
Thank Vertumus!
Follow the steps there and you will reboot to a fully stock experience.
WHY INSTALL THE OVERCOME CUSTOM ROM?
Because alterbridge did a smashing job at keeping the OS as stock as possible, he even included a few things like books and the stock music player alongside the samsung one. He kept the kernel stock for people repulsed with custom kernels, and using his rom you'd get amazing speed and battery life, thats the reason its one step over the stock rom.
WHAT IS THE OTHER ADVANTAGE OF INSTALLING THE STOCK THEME OVER THE alterbridge86's ROM?
Because Overcome is fast, lethally fast, and the stock theme removes the irritating and slow dock from the UI, hence taking up lesser memory and speeding up operations more.

I am running overcome 1.2.3 . Check it out in the development thread for 10.1 ..
It works pretty good ! Most likely that you always flash the wrong ROM ..
Hello,
My GF just got herself an A200, but she experiences it is a bit on the slow side at times, so I wanted to install a custom rom on it.
Been doing that before on a few phones and my Galaxy Tab 10.1, but after digging in this forum and over at the Acer Tablet Forum I am still not sure if it is all that easy on this tablet.
Sooooo, I was wondering if the coming steps are what it takes to install what I had in mind and if that actually works.
The SimpleRoot topic on the Acer Tablet Forum gave me enough info (assuming it works) on how to get root and install CWM.
Now I wanted to flash (after making a Nandroid back up) the latest CM9 Rom with Obsidian's CM9-Onyx-OC-1.5ghz-v1 kernel.
I have no doubt that somewhere, on either this forum, or on the Acer Tablet Forum there is a guide on how to flash these, but after searching for hours, I still am not sure if I know it correct...
Can I just flash the latest CM9 rom, followed by the kernel, in CWM, from an external sd-card, or are there any steps I need to do before/after that?
This is how it seems to be done considering how it went on my galaxy tab, but I am not confident that it is that simple on the A200..
Thanks in advance!
Hello XDA Users, I have a very basic question regarding my ACER A500 upgrade. So far, I have tried every single avenue to upgrade my tablet to ICS but nothing worked. I am not sure, is this because of current HC ROM with ICS unlocked bootloader, but every time I flash any ICS ROM, I am stuck at booting primary kernel message from (V8 unlocked ICS bootloader) or ACER boot logo. But if I flash HC full ROM (3.1/3.2), everything works just fine. Some may say this is a repeat post, but I didn't get any answers from my earlier question, so decided to rephrase the question in simple manner.
At one point, I had ICS ROM successfully running on tablet with V8 bootloader but one fine day it decided not to boot up at all. And I have to go back to basic using TDV4.
Now I am on HC Rooted ROM with Thor CWM based recovery and V8 bootloader. If you need any further details to get me on ICS, please let me know.
Thanks
