Oh yeah, Note II dominated everything! 3 awards from www.myphone.gr (its the #1 site regarding phones/tablets in Greece).
Interesting thing is that in the poll for the Readers Choice Award the iPhone 5 did VERY VERY BAD! (Good times! ) On the other hand it was a hard battle between the SGS3 and the Note II.
The 4th and last award was nominated to the LG Optimus 4X HD (Best Value for Money 2012). Only phones available in Greece took part (thats almost every phone there is with GSM, no LTE coverage yet here anyway).
The truth is that in our little country Galaxy Note is popular.
I can see lot of these people who made jokes with note, have bought note ii.
And many iphone users change to note too.

From Yonhap News in Seoul:
SEOUL, Jan. 26 (Yonhap) -- Samsung Electronics Co., the world's second-largest maker of mobile phones, said Wednesday that it has sold more than 2 million units of the Galaxy Tab tablet computer within three months of its global debut.
Samsung achieved the sales figure this week as the company sells the 7-inch, Android-running tablet through some 200 mobile carriers in 94 countries, the company said.
The Tabites are growing in numbers!!
(There are 3 kinds of Galaxians:
Essians who have a form of the Galaxy S
Tabites who have a form of the Galaxy Tab
Players who have a form of the Galaxy Player (not yet seen))
Cool deal! More tablets means more developers writing more cool stuff. I see TV ads for them every night...hopefully next week they're at 3 million.
I wonder how many Galaxians there are.

TabitesC and TabitesG
I imagine there are Wifiy variants coming too? Or is that the player?
Also a Verizon 1.2...
Anyone who thought that the Note might not be too popular amongst consumers, think again .
Samsung has managed to ship 1 Million Galaxy Notes worldwide. This is when its not even available in the US yet. According to an article, Samsung plans to bring the Note to the US with AT&T next year.

Interesting! Nice to hear it sold so well...
I'm surprised of it's delay to USA though, I'm sure plenty of people out there are eagerley awaiting it's release!
They will have to purchase one from ebay/abroad or simply wait...
Can anyone get the sales for the dell streak after 3months released. Alot of people thought there wasnt a market for this type of phone. Compared to Sgs2 this is a really good start.
Will increase once it hits the US.

I do not have the sales figures of the Dell Streak but I can say it's nothing compared to the Samsung Note.
Reason being Dell did NOT advertise the product, Samsung did!
Dell did not advertised the Streak at all! There were just a few enthusiasts who bought this device...
People, they haven't sold 1 million devices, they've shipped 1 million (read the topic )
But i guess they'll reach the million mark soon enough

Good, good. Sammy did expend a lot of money on advertisement. They have dozens of twits, youtube videos and TV commercials. Make me feel a little less special, but, we do need more support for making games work with our little toy.
I would consider it popular if it shipped at the same rate as the S2, but its a niche device. Good to see it at least ship ( but not sell ) 1M units already.
Talking about the regional sales, Samsung stated that Galaxy Note had strong sales in France and Germany and has a steady rise in Hong Kong and Taiwan.

I don't know if you noticed, but they said that the GNote was doing well in France and Germany... could that possibly be because the majority bought our Gnotes from Amazon.de and Expansys who shipped the Notes from these countries before they were released in our native countries?
I know that's where I bought mine!!! Been a Gnote owner for nearly two months and loving it more and more every day!
I always 'new' the Note would be a huge success because it replaces a phone and a tablet for most people. Well done Samsung for producing such a versatile quality device.

Since there is a big demand ,shipping is almost same as sold.
So is he implying that Samsung will start new line of mobiles not called Galaxy S with the new ‘so much anticipated’ device by Samsung? Find out and judge reading whole article.

IMHO that is what he is implying . new line of devices, maybe highest/exclusive/vip shelf - very expensive, superb design. strong metal casing like in wave not that plastic crap from galaxy s series, latest tech specs latest gorilla and so on. and ofc as leaks shows galaxy series will still be developed but as a mid class of mobiles with crappier plastic casing and not so high tech spec and design.
The Galaxy Note isn't the S3. And the Note is a bridge between the tablet and the smartphone.
I reckon this is a marketing ploy, bluff, to get Apple to introduce their new iPhone before Samsung drop the S3 bomb, if they decide to even call it the S3....
Ooops.... just gave away the strategy...
He's the VP of Samsung UK so I wouldn't put a lot of weight behind what he has to say. It sounds like little more than a marketing ploy to boost the popularity of the Note by piggybacking of the stigma of the Galaxy S III. There will still be an S III, and it will still be badged as such.
Since this forum is for the Galaxy S II, we've opened 1 thread for discussion of the GSII's successor and that thread is here

http://m.pocketnow.com/2015/03/03/global-mobile-awards
"While we come to MWC every year to see the hot new phones, tablets, and wearables, the conference isn’t just about introducing new devices. The GSM Association, which hosts MWC, also uses the show as its opportunity to announce its Global Mobile Awards, recognizing the best of the best in mobile tech. This year marks the twentieth anniversary of the ceremony, and while some of the winners may seem obvious, others are sure to spark some controversy.
For best smartphone of the year, we’ve got a tie, with the GSMA giving top honors to both the Apple iPhone 6 and the LG G3. The iPhone 6 is hardly a controversial pick, but the G3 makes for a little more interesting of a winner. While we gave the phone high marks, it hasn’t really enjoyed the same fanbase as models like the One M8, or even flagship Samsung handsets.
The award for best low-cost smartphone goes to the (first-gen) Moto E. While certainly affordable, we were a little let down by the software experience, and it’s interesting that a budget-priced Lumia didn’t pose more competition.
Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3 wins for best tablet – a worthy recipient of the honor, by most accounts – and Motorola gets the nod for best wearable with its Moto 360.
Think the GSMA seriously overlooked some model? Are you happy with these results as they are? Let us know down in the comments.

I can agree with the G3 First place this phone is awesome!
Let's here what you guys think.

I am absolutely disappointed by this!
Terrible move by Samsung for not releasing this in the UK.. Kick in the teeth
Time to think about changing brands
Apparently no 128gb model either. A person on a forum linked a Verizon page showing a 128gb, but Verizon is stating was a place holder for the launch and based on S6 offering one. I guess
a few days/weeks to see if Samsung changes their tune and then months before one could be added to the line up and landed to consumers.
EU actually.
the entire continent is missing out on the note 5, not just the little island in the west.
In fact Samsung now offer more or less only one phone in two sizes and with our without round edges (S6/edge/edge+ and note 5) and then they castrate themselves by taking the note from 1/3 of the world market with the argument that the phones were too similar and they would fear a cannibalism effect like they suffered already with S6 and S6edge. If they would had designed the note 5 differently and had given it besides the pen other differentations like replaceable batteries, plastic housing, sd card and water proofness they could have addressed different potential customers and they would not had the need to withdraw it from Europe.
Almost like Samsung is being mind controlled by Apple, since Apple could not hope for a "better" product to go against with the new iPhone 6+.
What a stupid decision are Samsung determined too cede their market share to their rivals.
At the most it may appear in the EU next year.

This article contains an updated statement from Samsung.

It has to come to Europe. I am defiant by that statement. Even if it will be in 2016.
I still think it's ridiculous though. I thought, I'll skip the Note 4 and get the 5, and then it's delayed by six months.
The market availability of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will vary according to consumer needs and the specific market situation. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will be introduced in the US and Asian markets in August and we will look at further opportunities to launch the Galaxy Note 5 in other markets.

What about the MENA region??
Short story of my day...
"Uhhh, can't wait for the new Note 5 as I wanted a replacement for my Note 3."
Samsung: No SD card.
"Okay, not fond of it but I will survive."
Samsung: Can't change battery.
"Ahh dammit, but still want it."
"Actually just shut up and take my money!"
Samsung: F... you, we won't sell it to you.
(Flips table)
Imo this was a very risky, bold move by not releasing this in the uk. But when you think about it korea and china constantly get phones that the uk and us dont. Im not going to bash them becuase i have an s6 and love it. We all should of known the note would be nothing but an overblown s6. Just like the nexus 6 was a moto x 2014 on steriods. Id assume once sales drop for sammy they will come to their senses and at least bring back an sd card on the s7 and note 6. Not much different than the "flagship killer" oneplus2 with no nfc or the m9 that was just a m8. Not a great year for new devices.

They can't release right now in the UK or their sells will really tank.. You guys are going to get the note 5 with the 7422 processor, epop modems and a much bigger battery.

My god . . . Can it be true that the giant landmass of Holland is missing out? Shame on the OP for focusing on the UK when the teeming billions of Dutch will miss out.
and the French, Germans, Spaniards, Portugese, Belgians, Greeks, Italians, Slovenians, and several more.
no one wants the note 5 anyway, they can keep their gimped downgraded phone, who cares.

yup, I love my S6, had to buy it because my moto x 2014 broke but I really wanted to wait for the note5. I was still ready to get the note5 when it would come out but this phone is not even a straight upgrade from the s6, why did they remove the IR blaster?
By the looks of it the AT&T model supports the UK 4G bands (3, 7 & 20).
My girlfriend is currently in the States and returns in early September.
If she purchased one direct from an AT&T store to bring back for me, how long do you think I'd have to wait before people were able to offer unlock codes for them so I could use one with a Three UK sim card?
Apple here I come!!!
Samsung touch wiz still an issue. Had the s6 Edge which was cool but battery was poor and poor. Probably same issue with s6 Edge + and the price will be another deciding factor..
HTC pretty much quiet next couple of years due to loss after loss.
Moto x just not premium enough.
Chinese phones just don't get to us in time.
So apple it is.. Nooooooo

Did that baby it was nice whilst it lasted the whole month! Again touch wiz and the lag was too much to handle.
People are going to make a pretty penny doing import sales of the Note 5 into Europe I suspect.
