I was/am the same.
I read somewhere on the Web to send yourself a MMS. I tried this and it seemed to free everything up and get mms arriving & sending.

Ps. Tmobile mms are absolutely crap. The message directs you to the Tmobile website where you can view the picture.
Anyone know why?

This is not really slow. Just poor compared to the 20 mbps some people are getting. And it is still faster than Sprint 3G
Also, problem with MMS probably resides in your APN

4mbps isn't slow? I was getting way faster speeds on my HTC hd7.

It pales in COMPARISON but by all means is not slow. The Sprint users are suffering!
Here's my APN settings on T-Mobile. MMS works for me:

No I'm just kidding. Sprint 4G is terrible.
I have little hope of experiencing even ****ty 4G speeds. Consider it a privilege.

I believe so - 3G averages 150-200kbps. Not sure how that translates to Mbps.
Try using the web site version, our speak easy.net, that app always locks and stutters,

Not sure why it defaulted to Yellowknife, CAN. as the closest server, but the numbers are pretty similar to speed tests using the AT&T server that's 5 miles from my house. Latency is a bit more though. 120ms for Yellowknife and 99ms for Anchorage, AK AT&T server.
From all around Bakersfield CA. Unfortunately only about 5-7 Mbps at home.

Up here in Jacksonville I hit 53 Mbps down and ~15 Mbps down once. No screenshot evidence though.
This has been consistent for me.

It's consistent because your using Wi-Fi. Turn off Wi-Fi and redo the test.

Dear XDA members,
While I'm not sure whether I have had this issue since the 4.3 OTA update, my phone doesn't seem to be able to connect to the internet when I am connected via UMTS and not via HSPA(+).
This is certainly a big issue for me, since no messages come in when I don't have HSPA(+) connection. And it appears that the phone is not able to connect to HSPA(+) anymore until connecting to WiFi/toggling airplane mode or possibly changing the phone's physical location.
Hoping you can clear this up.

Not sure if this is similar but on 4.1 I had issues where 3G (whatever) would drop out signal wise but if I switched to 2G (GPRS) then it would be full strength.
Upgrading to 4.2 sorted it out and 3G/UMTS worked fine again for data/voice.
Now I have upgraded to 4.3 voice will only work via 2G and data just drops all the time. Again 2G is solid but if I switch to all bands then voice and data just don't work.
Yes the APN data is correct.
Might be going back to 4.2.2.
Maybe changing the baseband radio back to default 4.2.2 might work?
How would I enable HSDPA/UMTS 3g only instead of hspa+?

Cream did you resolve the problem??
I currently have a AT&T s4 using ST.
My current apn is tfdata that can be found on the ST website. Is this the best one?
My phone says 4G but its.obviously not 4G speeds.
Also my simcard was the original big one and I cut it so could this be a problem of my slow speeds?
Thanks

the most you will get is HSPA which shows 4G icon, the only Straight Talk that gets LTE is the Galaxy S3 and its on Sprint Network. The max throughput is around 7MBPS down and around 1MBPS up.

I live in a smaller city on the border of US and Mexico so I new LTE was going to take a while. Last week I noticed I was getting it and I was surprised so I started doing speed tests and wow is our slow. Oh well I chalked it up to maybe testing in the area and whatever but it is not getting any faster. Here is a screenshot of my speeds and I know its accurate because when I do the test with wifi its accurate. What do you guys think?

I should be I grandfathered in. So to use LTE people need an unlimited plan? I should add that when I have gone to a bigger city (San Antonio) I did have LTE speeds.

check under your phone settngs and see what your signal strength is
your pic shows very week signal
go around your area and see what other speeds you get, might be in a bad area like me
try another speed test app, that one seems to take a lot longer to a host for me lately
I have asked, maybe you have passed the 5 gb they are slowing you down
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda app-developers app
If you are grandfathered in the unlimited plan, AT&T will throttle your data speeds down to Edge after a certain amount of data is used.
