Full screen flash? - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have flash working but full screen always fails, the screen goes black. Is there a fix? I've tried every browser, boat, firefox, AOSP, ocean, etc.
EDIT: It's working on firefox right now but there's no seek bar, no controls. Grr.

I have the same problem. Using ocean browser.

Full screen works for me on Boat Browser with all the websites I've tried. As far as why it wont work on your end, It may just be a fluke with certain websites. Since it is not "officially" supported on JellyBean it may be hit or miss.
You could share what website in particular you're trying to access full screen and I could try it on my end.
Also, what version of Flash Player are you using?

I installed flash on my N10 earlier (something I thought I never do ) and can also confirm the site I tried using the fullscreen player on just resulted in a black screen, on AOSP Browser (I use CM 10.1). I use whatever the latest ICS APK that was available on Adobe's archive site.
I didn't try other browsers yet.

Anyone getting browser freeze/FC? I'm sick of it, hardware?

Running tasks v5 rom, much better than before, but still get a lot of freezes (forcing a hard reset by me) or force closes where the browser disappears. Nyone else getting these yet?
No browser freeze on mine.
I have problem accessing seekingalpha.com. Browser (stock) wouldn't load content and than just chrashes. It happens everytime, with no exeptions. Could someone try to open it and let me know what happens?

Quits for me too. Even after clearing browser cache

I'm not web expert, so I don't know what's going on with this site, or in what "technology" is it written. But, they have changed site recently, and since than it started to be extremely slow on my HTC Desire (Gingerbread), like beating the hell out of the processor. And now I found out that crashes Honeycomb browser.
Is there any way to contact Google to point them to this problem? I couldn't find it...
Opera or Dolphin can open it. But also, there are some rendering problems in Dolphin with left column (adds and some links on the top). It's dynamic (moving with you as you scroll the page), so that could be source of the problem.
I haven't had a problem with this site really, mostly when the keyboard is up (using Swiftkey) or quickly scrolling. Also other things like samsung email app and a few games seem to cause problems.
All seems very random and infrequent, can't find a pattern to them yet.
Just got my first browser FC today, happened twice when trying to add a bookmark
could this be a hardware problem? The tab freezes several times a day, usually on the browser (use that the most too), also in exchange email app and various games. It's driving me nuts. Tried every rom out there as well as stock and pershoots kernel.
Anyone have any ideas? It's driving me crazy and I'm curious if I could have a serious problem or if it's something the right update could fix.
I use Dolphin for Pad browser (not Dolphin mini or HD). Never had a FC.
tried dolphin. No difference.
have u tried the v6.1, got some (few) lags on v5 but v6.1 is smooth (for me) now
Yes, I've tried 5,6, 6.1,overcome, starburst. Makes no difference.
In Dolphin use the desktop agent instead of Android. It' their mobile site that causes the problem. If your rooted you should be able to set the stock browser to desktop also.

Browser and flash crash ICS only

I think this deserves a thread. as the title states if you were to go to YouTube full site and try to play a video as soon as its about to play the advert it crashes causing the browser to become unresposive to touch.
does not matter which browser you use it has same effect.
other sites tested are ustream and Justin TV. various flash sites used to watch football also have the same problem although sometimes after deleting cache on opera in app manager I can get football to run.
I'm pretty sure 3.2.1 did not have these issues.
if this a Acer problem. will they fix this? I also think it could be a flash player problem with our tablets which could be fixed in a update from them.
I'm on a custom rom but I'm just off to test on my girlfriends tab which is stock....brb
OK I'm back. exactly the same tried to play a video on YouTube and as it about to play it froze the browser and the video.
3.2.1 looks so appealing right now. anyway people who say there browsers don't freeze obviously don't use many flash sites.
if anyone knows any settings that may help in the about:config department of opera please let me no otherwise I'd love to find anyone with a workaround.....
I am having this problem as well with dolphin, chrome and stock browser when ever I try to go to full screen. However last night I downloaded browser + (basically an enhanced stock browser) and it worked fine all night long. I played about 3 consecutive hours of full screen flash videos and didn't have one browser crash. Not sure what the problem with the other browsers is.

thanks, might give that a try then.
im sure it will be ironed out sooner or later..
anyone know if theres away to log the crashes?
EDIT: Indeed you are correct. broswer+ does not crash on justin.tv....
Any tips on forcing it to use youtube full site as no matter what i try (even ticking box) it forces back to the mobile site.
Cheers for the tip mate it will certainly make ICS a whole lot better to use at the minute
EDIT 2: you just made my morning looks like browser+ is the way to go. ustream works perfectly too.
just like to add a further note that BOAT browser works great and does not freeze when using any of the sites i have listed. so thats browser+ and BOAT that work ok with flash
I also should now add I'm on a custom 4.0.4 android and flash with opera works great. Even full screen on full YouTube.
Very strange but I'm not complaining now.

i'll give opera a shot as well
Same issues
Two of the most irritating problems I had with HC was:
1. ALL web browsers would randomly crash--> auto shut downs that wiped all temp and open files in the browser. Stock browser was the worst, followed up by Opera, Dolphin, Mirix browser, and a couple other nobody apps. None worked flawlessly. This is enraging when you are typing an email and it dies, you lose all your work!!!
2. My bluetooth Motorola keyboard would stutter and die. Keys would stick, etc. Another maddening problem.
The ICS OTA I received did not rectify these two critical issues for me either. Hence why I invested time and energy into learning how to unlock the bootloader and install a custom ROM.
Those two problems that were unresolvable were deal breakers for me running anything from Acer.
I routinely sent alogcat files to Dolphin techie team. They were not able to deduce why their browser would auto-die during session. But hey, at least the Dolphin team responded and tried.
Opera support is miserable. I sent them what they wanted: their advice? Uninistall Opera and re-install. I did. Four times. Still problem persisted.
I would get SoD's on HC and my tablet was unrooted and unmodded at the time.
I would get SoD's infrequently on stock ICS, but enough it made me move to another ROM.
So to answer your question: Your device is not alone with these problems. Seems it is something in Acer's ROM's that do this. Some bug they dont bother to fix. And I assume it is in the stock ROM's, because I did factory recovery and factory wipes too, and it did not repair this bug with auto-die browsers and spotty bluetooth connectivity.
My solution?
Go custom ROM. Flash an unlocked bootloader, install the latest greatest flavor you take fancy to, install either the Lightspeed 4.5 (i think they are up to 4.7 now...), Flexreaper RC1_v3, or that Thor ROM. All are good, I'm partial to Flexreaper cuz it has that totally customizable Acer Ring.
All those ROM's out of the gate are faster and have more clever apps in them than Acer-junk.
Juss sayin.

Flash Sites : Use Firefox + Flash Apk

I was using Flash.apk+ Old Dolphin Web browser for a while to open flash sites, but I tested latest Mobile Firefox today an I discovered it actually support Flash Sites. Among a very accurate page rendering (reason why I tried it again, and it's by far better than mobile chrome or safari).
So now I'm using it again on my desktop too.
Note that chrome-banned adblock it's a plug in available for Firefox and works awesome.
Very stable and does a perfect rendering plus tons of plug ins available does a perfect replace was main browser (only lacks gesture control btw I can live w/o it for a while).
You can find it on the android market. And Flash. apk at Adobe flash download.

Works well with Boat here. Not sure if I want to switch to Firefox to be honest.
Or stock, although don't use stock much at all.
Yes, not ready to switch from chrome(stock), but at least it's by far better solution than Dolphin for flash sites, also for some sites with poor rendering on chrome (as some e-commerce).

It works but there are lags too much.

KitKat and Adobe Flashplayer - Can anyone reported success?

Is there anyone who gets flash running under 4.4. The things and hints i've gotten by searching Google doesn't work. I've also tried the forums search without success. Please don't kill me if i've overlooked anything.

ART
it has to do with art, not with 4.4 (i think)
as the rest of apps that does not work with art, the only thing we can do is wait for a next mini update to kitkat to get ART fixed.
try if it does work with dalvik (if it does not, then adobe flash player is not compatible with 4.4 simply because the package file cant run in kit kat.)
i will look out the flash apk later now i am busy
It's not dependent on ART since I'm still on dalvik as runtime environment. I've two or three web pages which use embedded flash videos. And one of them is a daily news site. So I'm probably one of the few who miss this support.

Working for me with Puffin browser but not Boat, Dolphin, or Firefox. Puffin has become my favorite browser due to its speed/responsiveness.

I believe puffin uses server side flash. It doesn't use the flash plugin apk.

Good point - forgot their implementation. So I checked it out - I uninstalled the plugin and Flash did still work with Puffin so it is the server side.

Does work on my nexus 7 - should work on the moto, as well.
Flash plugin support ended with ICS. Worked for Jelly Bean versions, but it stopped working with KitKat some reason, on dalvik and art. Server sided flash browsers will still work, like Puffin and Photon.
Without anymore mobile flash plugins, it most likely will no longer work. Shame because I like chrome and aosp browser.

It works fine with Dolphin and modified Flash Player from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548001
No need server side flash browsers.

Chrome always reload pages when multitasking in 4.4

Hey guys, I recently upgraded to 4.4 and I am having this issue with chrome and now with opera.
When I open a page like this thread, and press home then open chrome again, it reload the page. Now I can't press to open a page and look for something else in my phone. I must wait to load. In 4.3 I was using aosp browser and sometimes I click to open and forgot about it, and later in the day I open the browser and the page was there loaded lots of hours before.
Now the aosp browser do not work anymore, and the new version is using chromium.
The problem. Is not RAM because right now I have 1.3 GB free in RAM. So what could be the problem?
And what browser right now is supporting flash? Tried many of them but just dolphin worked. I don't like it very much.

This is not a problem, it's by design. Let's say you're on your favorite news site. You'd want to have the latest news as soon as you open up the browser. Modern websites are dynamic and have a constant flow of content. They just require a refresh of the page to give you new content. And that is why modern mobile browsers refresh pages once they are reactivated. To make sure your page isn't out of date.
