For christmas, I got an asus zenbook touch. Best ultrabook I've ever owned. For 1100 dollars, you get an i5, 128gb ssd, touch screen, and intel 4000 graphics. It is a little steep for those specs but the build quality and touch screen completely make up for it in my opinion. It actually comes with a bunch of accessories too, a folio case, VGA adapter, micro usb cable, and an ethernet adapter. I can write up a full review if anyone wants.

I was eyeing that exact model at my local Best Buy earlier this week. I'm really torn between this Zenbook and Lenovo's Yoga.
Couple of questions:
How's the Battery Life with casual use?
Wifi issues?
SSD speeds? Did you get the Adata SSD or Sandisk SSD (should say on the box)?
Light bleeding in the screen? This was a major issue with the previous non-touch UX31As.
Is the paint chipping off by any chance?
My main worry with this Asus is that it only has 4GB of RAM and it cannot be upgraded. I'm just not sure if it'll be enough, how does it perform with this amount of RAM? Any hiccups when multiple web pages are up?

I'm enjoying my Toshiba T925u. It has about the same specs, but an 11.5 inch screen (not as high in resolution). It has a slide out keyboard for typing, or can be used as a tablet. A bit more expensive at around 1100. Toshiba is expecting them in stock in mid January; they seem to be out of stock everywhere.

Don't get the yoga, there's a plethora of problems with it. Light bleed is present but not a big deal for me at all. SSD speed is lightning fast, boot time is like 3 seconds. 3 seconds for a cold boot. No paint chipping. Battery life is around 6 hours with causal use. I actually have no idea what ssd it is.

My sister and I just picked up two Yoga 13's last week. We both love them. The only issue we had was the wacky SSD partition scheme they had on them, but there was a fix available, and easily found, on the product support page. I'm loving mine. It replaced a 2 year old HP DM3 laptop.
I am looking into this model. Very much like the design and specs.
Wanna ask you whether the Windows 8 installation files are located in the SSD? If so... Can I remove them and save the installation files in a USB stick to install the OS later? From what I gather.... The ultra book does not come with installation files...

yes you can, just press "windows key + R" and type recoverydrive.exe, the window will guide you through the rest!
I've got the australian model (silver) but it does seem to come with torx screws on the bottom, dont feel like unscrewing them but is everyone sure you cant upgrade the ram on the touch model? I thought the porblem with the prime models was that you couldnt detach the bottom at all..? (but you seem to be able to with this model... 10GB ram would be nice )

In a laptop you only get 2 slots. Usually each slot will have a max capacity of either 4 or 8gb. To get 10gb across both slots, well, they don't make 5gb sticks so you would have to go with an 8gb and a 2gb. However you get access issues with unmatched sticks, its computer building 101, wherever possible use matched sticks (capacity, access speed, timings, everything, for all intents and purposes just use 2 of the same model). You could do 8gb or 16gb easily enough.
I personally live fine on 4gb. I seriously don't see why the majority of people need more. Although a few of my games have occasionally pushed me past 4gb used so I am considering upgrading to 8.

I know, but with as with the UX32VD I assume that if the ram would be replacable (which it probably still isn't) it would be only one slot, the other dimm is soldered on. So unmatched sticks (2 + 4 or 2 + 8) would be the only way to go. Just googled a little bit and it seems that the normal UX31A was also openable (i thought it wasnt) but only the battery and the SSD is exposed then, so probably no luck for the touch model after all.

Can't really speak for the UX, but on my Yoga, there is only ONE dimm, and there is not another one soldered on it. It's either single channel 4GB or single channel 8GB (8GB is the max for the motherboard and dimm).
Finally got the ultrabook. Enjoying it.
Just wondering whether is there any reason I should keep the ASUS apps that came with the ultrabook? Are they considered bloatware?
Any major consequences if I uninstall them?
Just an update.
I'm running Mint Linux on this ultrabook now.
Quite like it.
There's no need for Windows.

I've bought a few tablets from this company and they're great. Cheap, work well, and the support is very good. The most recent tablet I got is the basically the same as this one: review here. But when I went to buy another for my brother they now include a case (neoprene), 8GB SanDisk microSD card and the tablet is laser etched with their logo on the back (looks pretty cool and is pretty subtle). I paid $10 more than the last tablet without the card or case - so $10 for an 8GB card and case is pretty good. All in all a great deal for the price. I've had a bunch of cheap tablets and these are by far the best. The metal housing is a nice touch and really makes them feel solid (and the wifi works great, doesn't seem to interfere). I also really like the fact they come rooted (don't even need superuser) and with a USB host cable (all tablets should include this). They ship really fast too, only took 2 days to get the first 2 tablets and 3 days for the last.

Not sure about future development but I'm sure there are people here working on it. The tablet is based of off the A10 platform as far as I know and as prices come down more people will be working on developing them further. For the price, it's by far the nicest "cheap" tablet I've had and I've tried a ton of other no name tabs - Aniol, Coby, PanDigital, Velocity, Superpad, etc., this one is by far the best...

I don't mean to paint with a broad brush, but I got a bad taste in my mouth when I purchased a PanDigital 7" tablet. The screen touch sensitivity was horrible. It was alternately slow to react and over sensitive. I had to return it.
My guess is not all have the same problem but without benefit of multiple honest reviews, I'm staying away from the lower tier of tablets.

There are some pretty good lowered tier tablets, like ainol. You just need to find the correct forums that has custom ROMs from developers.

The screen on the one's I've received has been very responsive, pretty much on par with my Xoom (just a tad, and I mean milliseconds, slower to react).
Also, when I went to use a 64gb microsd it worked without a hitch. On my Xoom I had to reformat the card to get it to work. On the Magnus Tab it just worked...

I can't see any new info on it on the net. I have preordered one, but this really seems fishy. I won't be getting one until mid November though so if there's something wrong at least I'll have plenty of time to cancel my order.

The prices is great!. They are selling it at what other OEM charging for the atom processors.
Even the battery life is good, about double of the surface pro. Heck. They didn't even try to cheat you on purchasing overpriced keyboard dock.

This device doesn't have a keyboard dock, only an optional cradle. It extends battery life and works great while working at a desk/table, but not so well while sitting up in bed, on a sofa, or anywhere else a laptop comes in handy. Maybe not an issue for some, but that's unfortunately a deal-breaker for me. The whole point in considering a hybrid to begin with. Not sure why they don't have one like the W510. Great device otherwise.

I"m using the Toshiba U920t, which converts from a tablet to a laptop. It is a bit thicker, and the battery is only good for about 5 hours, but it works well, and is only a couple hundred more than the W700 with 128 GB SSD.

I have been using a w700 for a month
I love this tablet. I have the i3 with the Intel HD4000 graphic card. I have many tablets, but here's a quick rundown:
Pros
1) runs full win8 which is pretty seemless with touch
2) Beautiful full HD screen
3) Fast SSD, boots in 7 seconds
4) Dock, keyboard and case included in 700 price
5) I run Photoshop with huge images from my Sony a65 24.3 mp camera. It runs almost as fast on i3/4gb as my Sandybridge i7 with 16gb of RAM. I use full MS Office Pro Plus, have a bunch of Metro apps and use Bluestacks for stuff like Google Books (which works great)
6) Bat life is 8-9 hours!
7) The Win store is criticized for lack of content, but some of the games are unreal. Toy Soldiers, Reckless Racing 2, Etc. they blow away the best games for my Asus Infinity/Ipad 3.
8) It's full windows with a beautiful screen and small form factor, what can I say?
Cons
1) SSD is small, 64gb in my case, going to replace it with a 256gb msata
2) No SD slot
3) One usb on device (3 on dock)
4) a little heavy for kindle/ereader usage
After getting this thing, I am going to sell my 2 Asus Transformers and my Ipad and just keep my Nexus 7 for reading.
This thing is amazing, close to full pc/tablet convergence.
I have an Acer W700 tablet as well but with tge i5 processor and the 128GB SSD.
Pros
- The price. The best tablet under 1000€ and it even beats a few of the tablets above 1000€ as well.
- The hardware is fantastic. No lagg or anything! ( this is NOT a gaming tablet but it plays smaller games without problems)
- The touch works great the only problems I've encountered arecaused by the softwares.
- The battery life is amazing beats my vaio every time.
Cons
- No SD card slot ( Being compensated by a 500GB 2.5" external USB 3.0 HDD)
- No 3G modem ( a pro for me since I don't gave to pay for a subscription)
This tablet is one of the best tablets on the market for the price.

Yeah I feel the same.. The cover is made by Acer so I think that they will release it for us who have already bought the tablet. Otherwise, ebay for a first / third party afterwards that it has been released. Swedish E-tailers do already have the tablet in their stores but are still waiting for delivery from acer.

I got mine on January 14th from Futureshop in canada with the keyboard case...the case is very nice.
Only one issue...some times (mostly starts in google chrome but keeps on after closing it and resolves by screen off and on) my touch screen goes crazy and clicks by it self, I have not tried calibrating or other solutions yet and I am thinking of returning, but getting new one will be more trouble...any idea guys?

Yes, almost all W700's have WIFI issue as delivered, but easilly fixable with a driver update. Mine suffered from constantly disconnecting/re-connecting, installed new driver from Acer site, works perfect now. (Make sure to follow instructions about removing old driver, restarting, installing new driver)

I got mine from Amazon.ca, has the keyboard case, but the identical item on Amazon.com also came with the keyboard case. Was $50.00 cheaper on Amazon.ca, & only had to pay gst, versus ND state tax, plus GST and PST if would have ordered on Amazon.com. (Info for any other Canadians who live close enough to be able to shop both sides of the border.)

I've just got my first taste of android on a tablet (disgo 8100) and I've sold that for a decent profit, so I'm looking at buying myself a bit of a better tablet. I like the look of the advent vega but I have heard about various gripes such as screen angle and touch screen not being amazing.
So, is the vega still worth buying? I'm after something that:
Has a decent hacking community
Can run emulators well
Can support multiple usb devices through a usb host+ usb hub
Hdmi out (full mirroring)
Run apps quickly.
I'm after a tablet that I can mod, that's still getting updates (community or official) that I can play games in, and use six axis controller via blue tooth etc.
Hope you guys can help me, I don't want to put 100 quid down on a second hand tablet when something could be better for me

Yes, the screen angle is pretty terrible! It's like 10% LOL!
Yeah, the touch screen is pretty terrible too! It shows in Fruit Ninja where the slice is 1cm behind your finger and in internet browser where touch is just not fluid.
About the HDMI I don't know if I have a faulty cable or something but when I mirror my tablet's screen it appears like it would output a 360p image instead of 1080p. I can see tiny squares on my 46" 1080p LED TV! The picture is just horrible I'd rather just use an USB stick or use DLNA.
Hacking community on XDA and tabletroms is top notch (don't know how's on other tablets, tho).
I don't know how are emulators working, but apps run pretty quickly and "smooth" (touch spoils that a bit).
I never heard complaints about usb hubs, just use one that has an external power source (just in case).
In the end it all depends in how good condition your tablet will be and at what price.
There are probably tons of same spec tablets in your local shop that are also pretty cheap and there is also a chinese website aliexpress where you can order your cheap noname tablet online, but warranty might cause you problems later on.
I know that those generic chinese tablets have generic ROMs somewhere on the internet that include english language, play store and root, but I don't have any links, sorry.

There is a lot of lag switching between apps, and when I install an app it is damn slow for some seconds. I am using a generic 8GB microSD card, and I think that might be the problem. Using a class 10 card could make the tablet work more fluid?

but if you have opportunity it is better to try it mate! Try and see if it works for you..
and for those who still uses vega i must say i prefer ICS, less lags, less slowness feeling..

Thanks for the tip. Still I bought a cheap S*ms*ng class 10 microsd to see if it improves the experience, if it doesn't work I will probably sell the tablet and use the microsd with my cellphone
Only if you can get the tablet really cheap. Better tablets are quite cheap nowadays.
For £49 you can buy a much better Archos Cobalt 80 tablet.

Sup guys, saw a few people wondering about this particular tablet so I figure I'd offer some brief insight.
I picked the 64 gb model up from the Microsoft store website for around $380 shipped (I got the ten percent off for being a student)
First off this is my first windows 8 tablet and as a tech head im not opposed or particularly biased to any platform, I just like what I like.
Pros:
-Full windows 8, not limited like RT
-Windows 8 runs smooth on it. I was afraid initially after hearing Horror stories about lag and freeze ups, but so far it's ran perfectly smooth.
-The included keyboard. While kind of cramped the key action feels good to type on.
- True multitasking. I love the split screen feature similar to that of the note 3 and find myself using it a lot.
-The price. For a very fair price you get a full windows 8 tablet along with the keyboard. The surface 2 which isn't full windows would run you almost double the price after purchasing the separate keyboard.
Cons: (more like nitpicks you should expect at this price point)
- Build quality. While the software is great the budget price shows in the hardware. All plastic build, bit creeky, and it's a finger print magnet.
-Speakers. They seem funky. The placement isn't ideal and sometimes if you're watching a movie it might be better to use head phone's. Not totally unusable at all, but not that good either.
-Brightness. It will do, but wish it got brighter. The resolution is fine in my opinion it's the brightness that could use a boost.
Other people have been weary of the screen resolution, well don't be. It's not bad at all and it's one of those things where you won't really notice unless you're comparing it side by side or are a pixel peeper ocd about it.
All in all I'm super happy with my purchase. Haven't had any crashes or lag, windows 8 has been great in my small sample time. I like the usability of the tablet and the versatility it offers, it's good for both work and play.
I would recommend going with the 64gb. After booting it up I believe you actually have around 46-48gb free.

Did You Have to Update the BIOS
I am on the cusp of getting one but I have read of horror stories with the charging/sleep behavior with the as-shipped BIOS (I believe it's 214) - and there is a new BIOS out on ASUS's website (220). Did you have any power issues or have to update?
I picked myself up the 32gb model just before Christmas. First thing I did was flash the 220 BIOS. I've had zero problems what so ever. Those so called "horror stories" you mention are just morons with zero knowledge of how Windows handles sleep/hibernation behaviour.
It's a great little machine, well worth the money.

the initial BIOS that came with the machine was indeed crap
new BIOS fixed a lot of the problems
I ordered a matte anti-glare screen protector... helps a lot with the low-brightness of the device (low brightness + glare = hard to read anything)
I solved the low brightness with the simple expedient of turning off automatic brightness and setting it manually. Looks much better.
I had it for a few days and took it back for only little nit picky reasons. I was very happy with it, but it didn't get dim enough for me. at the lowest setting it was burning my eyeballs untio my eyes adjusted - I do a lot of night surfing and reading. other than that and the crappy sd card placement it was one helluva tablet. my only problem is tha I was always using it as a laptop and for the price I could get a better speced (in some areas) laptop.
I still kinda wanna get it again and just might if it hits $350 for the 64. I had the 64 and got it from wal-mart.

That's odd because one of the biggest complaints is the lack of brightness on the tab.
In regards to the first question I haven't updated anything or had any power issues with it.

i've just always had sensitive eyes- great night vision, but hate lots of light. my 64gb came with bios 220 preinstalled. it didnt have the 3A charger some are reporting coming with the new batches and with the 500GB version in EU.

I doubt the charging circuit is ever capable of drawing 3A.
In electronics you dont force current around a circuit, the components draw current instead. If the circuit only draws 1.5A and is on a 5A supply, only 1.5A will be drawn from the supply.
I do have a [email protected] supply somewhere.... utterly useless for tablets unless I want to charge 3 or 4 of them from on cable Nothing wrong with such high current supplies, the HP case was genuinely poor design chargers (underspecced regulator was my understanding)
they've reported it on either the tabletpcreview forum or transformner forum. I didn't see any posts that verified that it pull 15watts or not. if the tablet doesn't request more than two amps then it's pretty useless to makes a 3 amp... unless it's a sign that future tablets will be and the 3 amp will be their new default OEM charger.
I swear I check the stock everyday hat my local Walmart and keep hearing the t100 calling me. I may just give in and repurchase.
one issue I did have with mine was that after my first round of windows updates my SD card reader acted up. after the next set of updates it worked fine. also, the charms bar only popped up if I swiped the top half in landscape mode.
The model with the 3A charger is mainly the EU one with the 500gb HD in the keyboard dock. Clearly, the extra amp is to power the HD whilst still charging the tablet. It's likely that 2A wasn't enough to charge whilst docked, otherwise.

Where did you order the screen protector from? And WRT the BIOS - I just got my T100 yesterday - very nice indeed but I see that ASUS removed the 220 BIOS from their site - any thoughts as to why this might be?

Check the other Asus sites (global,america, Asia, Europe) sites... It probably is still there somewhere, dunno why Asus took it down. Maybe they found more bugs in the new release?

Does anyone have any thoughts on the latest models of Android AIO's?
Personally I'm falling in love with the ideer of having a huge android on the angled table in front of me.
Many of them also doubles as an external touch screen for a pc with easy switching between function modes.
The one I look to buy is an acer DA223hql from amazon.de.
It's a bit pricey, and only has one gig of ram, but the size seems good for my reach and I like the 1080p resolution.
No argument that higher resolution is better like the acer TA272HUL's 2K or Lenovo ThinkVision 28's 4K, but those are both out of my price range and to big for for comfortable use.
The DA223hql seems to be the best compromise so far.
In my searches I stumbled upon a maintenance manual on Lenovos website which shows how to disassemble and replace the ram and hard drive on the Lenovo N308, and the components look like regular pc parts which makes me druel of the thought of a cheap Tegra 4 device backed by 4 gigs of ram and 1 - 1.5 TB of built in storage.
But the N308 is a 1600x900 TN panel with IR dual touch, and rumor has it that third party file explorers can't access the hard drive.
So I'm not sure i could live with those limitations.
I've not yet been able to find any reviews on the DA223hql and it seems to only be on sale in Germany so far, but several times my fingers have clicked the "add to cart" button.
I've just not been able to click "proceed to checkout" yet.
Please, someone give me some insight into these AIO's.
I trust android to be right for me in this category.
I trust that 18-22 inches is a good size if placed correctly.
I don't have much trouble living with android 4.1 or 4.2

don't have much input, but they are tempting me too. I may be wrong but I think android is currently maxed out at 2gb of ram and cannot handle any more. If you get one lemme know what you think, I am hoping it would be better than a chromebook experience.

As far as I know android is based off of a 32 bit Linux system and is able to address up to 4gb ram.
probably 5.0 will be 64 bit which should allow ram in the terabyte range, not that I think anyone would need more than 2-3 gigs for a long time.
My Note 3 has 3 gigs, the LG G3 comes in a model with 2 gigs, and one with 3 gigs.
The Acer I've ordered has only one gig, which in my experience means I'll need to manage how much I'll have open at once.
A bit annoying but what's a guy to do.
With a little luck the ram will be replaceable.
Apart from that, the snapdragon 600 should be plenty fine for running a mostly stock android.
Unless of course the software is poorly optimized.
Not much hardware in the world can save you from poor software.
That's the scary part of being an early adopter.
At least it's not Acer's first attempt at this, so they have a little experience.

4 gb would make sense since it is just a 32 bit linux after all. Not sure where, but I read the 2gb thing somewhere previously. I had heard that most of those aios also used standard ddr3 so my guess is that it should not hurt to try. With the extra hdd thing, I'm sure the problem could be solved via software. Most apps on a stock kit kat build cannot write to the ext sdcard, might be the same problem you heard about regarding the added hdd.
Anyway lemme know when it comes in, if you have root and an unlocked bootloader I will most likely order one too.

As for the limited access to the hard drive in the Lenovo model, I have no idea.
It runs 4.2 JB so it can't be the kitkat thing.

And have been playing around with it for a few days.
Here's the quick and dirty of it.
First of all the screen, as nothing about it is as prevalent when dealing with a 22 inch tablet.
It's bright and with excellent viewing angles.
Resolution is a bit on the low side considering I watch it from about a foot and a half away.
The snapdragon 600 happily chugs along on a nearly vanilla built of Android.
There is a tiny bit of lag here and there, but I chug that up more to the single gig of ram.
An interesting little side note is that the screen Wakes up when touched, so no need to fumble the side for the on-off button.
The 16 gigs of built in storage fills up quickly so an SD card is definitely a must.
As the port is a full size SD you have the opportunity for cheap and really fast cards.
I have my eyes on a 128 gig, so I can get my 64 gig micro back in my phone.
Another way to do it is to mount a USB drive, but that option is better as a secondary.
It easily reads both exFat and ntfs, so no problems with my old 750 gig USB drive.
Another side note: a big USB drive will be good for videos.
Remember that I said that I sit close to the screen?
Well the negative side of that is that ANY lack of quality in my movies show up like sitting a few yards from a nuke.
I'll need to upgrade much of my media to 1080 versions with a good bit rate. Wich incidentally means I'll need more storage.
The problems of the developing world, right?
But playing a high quality movie right in my face is awesome though.
The speakers are OK, and more than enough at my distance.
For acting as a music system I have it connected to a Phillips Bluetooth speaker, which works fine.
The biggest problem with audio is watching movies with 5.1 on stereo speakers.
You turn up the audio to hear what they are saying, only to wake up the whole house as soon as any action starts.
Maybe someone can suggest a cheap and compact surround soundbar? I don't have room for a full speaker system.
Or would a small 5.1 amp with just the 3 front speakers connected be enough?
Mostly I just need the center channel so I can hear the dialog.
Unless it gets updated to "L" it's options for audio out is pretty much limited to a mini jack.
That's as much as I have time for now.
Later I hope to get into the issues of multi tasking like floating apps and the likes.
Bonus: towelroot worked flawlessly on this one. Full root privileges, but don't forget to install superuser yourself.

Ran it once.
It rebooted my system.
I installed supersu, and updated the binary.
And it was done.

But start with the towelroot I used.

Often when they write the card size limit is to avoid customers calling them and asking the where to get a "1 terabyte card" that the written specs say would work.
But it is a micro SD-XC port and unless Acer screwed something up or set a deliberate limit, the SD-XC standard reaches all the way to 4 TB, though I doubt that we'd find such any time soon.

formatted with a Windows pc , no luck,
partioned at 64 GB, then formatted and it works...
May be it is my card....but is strange....

When I first bought a 64 card for my original Note I had to format it in the phone before it would read it.
But I also saw a guy Frankenstein'ing his Note 2 to run a 256 GB card, and that one is rated for 64 gig max...
Of course to connect a full sized SD to a phone you need a special adapter.

I tried from the Acer Da223hql at first but formatting was an endless process....it took about 20 minutes before I surrended...and switched to Win8 for the format operation. But then the card was not readable for the Acer....so I went for the partitioning.
I suspect that 64gb is the maximum allowed on this machine...

I also use this device as an external touchscreen monitor for a win8 laptop and it is great...
works without a glitch....
On the Android side I installed Floating apps and Floating Browser, so I take advantage of the large screen...

Dared to take it apart today (pretty scary), and it turned out that the ram is not replaceable.

Ah well, it was a good dream though, 4 gigs...
Have mounted a 3tb USB drive though, with no trouble what so ever.
And I connected my laptop to the hdmi for the first time.
It works but has some weird behavior.
The picture shrunken but the touch sensor works correctly, so the further from the center I touch the more offset it registres.
Both my acer and my laptop run at 1080p, and I set it to mirroring.
The laptop days it's sending 1080p at 60 hz and the Acer says the received signal is 1080/60 so I don't see the problem.
The Acers settings screen does have a section marked by a square with arrows going out. But it ain't selectable.
Haven't seen manual resizing since crt and analog monitors anyway.
Any ideas?

you are very brave trying to open it!
As far as I know these devices (based on Qualcomm Snapdragon) have integrated/soldered RAM, so I never thought to check it by myself.
By the way 1Gb is plenty in my opinion, then it depends what kind of application you have in mind (photo editing and such can be memory killer)
As external touch monitor it worked fine for me. I have a 2in1 Asus Transformer Book Win8 based and I use the extended desktop mode.
The Acer was immediately recognized as a monitor and touch input device. No issue with screen resolution and/or its alignement.
Would you like to try that setup and see if works well? If no may be is your Acer that does not work properly.
I did not touch any setting on the OSD menu.
Furthermore I installed Xposed frameworks+XHalo floating windows manager and now I have a Windows-like multitasking.....check it, it's worth the test. Several windows at the same time (Chrome, terminal emulator, Youtube) and no lag.....unbelivable.

I feel limits when moving my big files around in the background , and think more ram would have eliminated that.
But I'll live with it.
My laptop is an Asus u38n (the ultrabook with an AMD instead of Intel).
It connects fine to our TV without the weird scaling.
I guess I'll try sending Acer a mail and see if they have some advice.
I've only just started experimenting with the multi window funktions.
Juggling 50 hour work week with being a husband and father sometimes means that things move slower than I'd like.
But even without multi window I am pretty happy with it.
I knew from my wife's old gPad that the snapdragon 600 is no slouch.

I don't use Facebook much but love that concept.
Just haven't found a hangouts client that does it that elegant.

Concerning labour hours, my yesterday working day ended after 14 hours, so......I'm done! But we are lucky to have a job nowadays.
Back on topic I'm not a Facebook user, neither my wife, therefore the only app I can suggest, which can have similar functionality, is Lilypad Hd.

I chose yes and like yours it just stood there for half an hour with no result.
So I put it in my laptop and formatted it from there ending up with the same "faulty" message.
So finally I put used my original gNote (running CM11) now there is no problems.

Hi in my experience Samsung Android devices have "bad" attitude in respect of vanilla Android.
They probably have some changes in the code which are not limited to the interface (TouchWiz), resulting in incompatibilities.
This is the Android fragmentation people often blame.
However when I formatted the SD card in my laptop, the Acer accepted it without assle.
I would try again formatting the SD with the PC and see if this happen again....sometimes magic happens
