I have had my tablet for a few days and just went into the NFC settings screen (More... under the Wireless & Networks section) and add spoon add I click more the settings freezes up and shows a blank black screen then force closes. I also noticed under battery usage NFC is very high and I'm not using it. I am on 4.2.1 and it is rooted. Anyone else have this issue or have any suggestions.

Well it started working now. I went to settings again and it opens just fine. I think it might have been something to do with Google Wallet. The first time I set it up it failed adding cards and I hand't tried NFC yet. Then I had gone back into Wallet later and had it successfully add the cards. The next time I tried the settings afterwards it worked. It is the only NFC related thing I did so that is my best guess if anyone else runs into this.

EVERY setting in Maps is turned off. No latitude, now, or anything. I'm down to manually disabling GPS now. I'll check my phone randomly to see the time, look for missed messages, etc, and I can see the freaking GPS fix icon in the status bar for a second. How do I convince Maps not to keep my phone awake to get a GPS fix?
If this is a software reflash all the stock .img with fastboot. Search for it at another thread. Let me see if I can find it again. If that doesn't work disable the GPS in any way possible. That's what I would do. I clearly don't have this problem. Might've been a bug in maps when you got the phone.

EDIT : Got it solved by removing my Samsung account and re-signing in.
I don't know what happened lately, but I've noticed a huge difference in battery drain and I've seen it's coming from Samsung SyncAdapter. The phone keeps using this service for 5 seconds once a minute then it disappears from the application manager (in Settings). Then once again, comes back and disappears. Also, it's not the only app doing this, google calendar does it too!
I've tried restaring my phone to see if the problem gets solved, but it didn't work. I know some of you will suggest to disable auto-sync, but then what is the point? It's a problem that just hit my phone recently and trying to figure out why! Any help would be appreciated!

Here's what is displayed in Calendar from Application Manager :
I've had not received any alerts recently...
I managed to get a screenshot of the process that is running. Can someone tell me what it is exactly?

Is this a necessay biproduct of always on listening? I have Google Now Everywhere enabled for all screens except the lockscreen. I did this in part for security and in part because CloudyG3 now supports full knock code for the vs980. The following screen shots were this morning after about 7 hours of idle screen off time (overnight). I do have high accuracy enabled in location with both reporting options enabled. I also have the Disable Services app but froze it just to see what would happen to battery life and what wakelocks appear. Basically I like Google Now a lot and want to use it to its fullest... yet at the same time I want to see what can be done to minimize the impact on battery life. What do yiu guys think?

I did it just for you
In short: yes, it is.
It's not considered wakelock if the program is always running, as you have requested.
I want to keep my WiFi of during sleep to save battery and I can't seem to make it turn off automatically like it's suppose to. I have set it out never be on during sleep and to not allow scanning while WiFi is off but it still seems to scan. I've also tried to disable WiFi calling(t-mobile). I know I can use 3rd party apps but I was hoping to use the existing options. Any idea as to what keeps waking it up?

Press on the battery chart showing in picture no. 2 and see which app is using your battery most. It may be one of your apps triggering the WiFi.

I'm currently Stock and rooted, and while most things are running how I want, there's a weird thing going on when toggling the Quick Settings. I usually prefer Wi-Fi and Data on the top row , but for some reason Wi-Fi and Bluetooth will either be on a row together, or take up one by themselves. Here's what happens when I try to add Data to the top row.

This seems to only be a problem with the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth toggles, as everything else can go three toggles per row without a problem. Settings UI, GravityBox, and other stock based ROMs all seem to give me the same issue. (it's actually doable in CM, but I'd rather wait on a Snapshot release before using daily). Here's hoping there's some easy solution that I'm missing here.
It's glitchy. Just move them around crazy to the horizontal and eventually you will get it lined up the way you want.
I was wondering this last night haha. I might just deal with it.
