[Q] DSC Screenshot + Call Recorder - Streak 5 General

Hi,
thanks for your help with my last problem! Here are two more
1. Taking Screenshots:
I tried 3 apps: Screenshot UX Trail, Screenshot Ultimate and AirDroid.
Screenshot UX says: failure getting su.
Screenshot Ultimate has automatic detection for different modes to take screenshots (with or without root). None of them works, and my device isn't recognized as rooted.
AirDroid says, it is trying to get root access, but the superuser app doesn't ask for my permission. Nothing happens.
2. Record Calls:
I've tried 10+ different apps. None of them can record my call. Before the connection is established (phone rings), I can record my own voice, but when the call is answered, the recording is interrupted.
I also tried "normal" voice recorders, like "ASR - Free MP3 Sound Recorder". Recording works fine until I call someone, then only silence is recorded.
Currently I'm using DSC 2.1.
Do you have any solution?

callrecorder from skvalex works for me

Kastorsoft Screenshot worked for me. Look for version 1.5 as later versions have become crippleware.

Unfortunately I couldn't find screenshot from Kastor Soft.
Price tag for callrecorder from skvalex is a bit to steep for me...
But thanks for your suggestions anyway!
I tested another callrecorder app "allCallRecorder" from Android Labs. It records my voice until established connection. Under settings there is an option to record also the other party's voice. If I try to tick that, it says: "Unfortunately, your phone does not support recording other party voice."
Could someone please test this app, if you get this error?

Don't know, if this is related to screenshot and callrecorder problems, but I also cannot grant su for new apps. Also busybox doesn't get su anymore. Other apps, like rootdim or clocksync work.
I tested with rootchecker as suggested by busybox. Says my phone is correctly rooted.
What can I do?

Kastorsoft never charged for Screenshot 1.5, so shoot me a PM with your email and I'll send you a copy of the APK.
Root your Streak again, as it somehow lost root.

I think the problem is actually in SimpleSU.
Have you run the DSC SimpleSU ACL?

Just tried "Screenshot UX Trail" again. It can't get su unless I grant su manually via simpleSU. Then it works fine! Thx for that suggestion n0p!
Therefore no need for other screenshot app. Thx anyway strephon!
Busybox had also no root permission, so I granted it manually with simpleSU, still error in busybox. Reinstalled busybox, no change, still error. Any suggestions?
n0p, do you have any idea, whats wrong with call recording? I Tested AllCallRecorder again, the error with other party voice doesn't appear anymore. Still no recording possible.

For those of you that want to try this and got the error about front facing camera try this link for fix. I am running CM7 nightly 204 and can confirm it works lovely.
Enjoy and leave feedback to help out those that are going to ask did this work on blah blah blah....lol

all you need to do, is get the permission XML for from face camera device rom (used the one from VIVO), and push it system, via recovery.
adb reboot recovery; adb shell mount -a; adb push android.hardware.camera.front.xml /system/etc/permissions/; adb shell fix_permissions; adb reboot
done

Doesn't work =/
I tried to push the file via root explorer and I did. I then rebooted and had no luck. It just shows the hangout post and no link or message about not having a camera. I also ran fix permissions in ROM Manager and rebooted and still nothing. I am running the latest CM7 Mod and running it on the Droid 1. Any help would be great!
Ive tried the method above, still same message about FFC.
Running Decks 1.3b
Works a treat, on HTC desire using mild wild 2.6
Brilliant
Works like a charm.
However, when running fix_permissions, my MIUI install is running for 1 min and 20 seconds, updating a lots of permissions, usually adding rwx-rights to group or something. I guess that's alright.
I have an HTC evo 4g with CM 7.2RC1.
I implemented this fix, and rebooted, but still, when trying to do a video call, it stays on "video initializing" and never seems to finish. I have the latest skype from market.
What to do?
Any progress?

My wife's EVO 4g is also at CM7.2 rc1. Any progress on getting this to work? Is it possible to move back to an earlier version of cm7 to get it going? As it stands now, I have to take it all the way back to cm6 for it to work.
Got it working with this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22668916
After tweaking some of the settings in camera, like force enable video calling.
Thanks!

Thanks, H0wdy! That worked for me. I had to also check on "Avoid setFPS" to get Skype video to work.

The links arent working..
Tried this: uninstalled everything and installed busybox via Smart install, then installed Viperaudio and the driver.
Restarted my device and it still isnt working ... hmmpf
When i play a song with poweramp it doenst work (no sound)
When i uncheck the first option in Viper (V4A-SpeakerFX) the sound is back!
When i check the setting to "on" my sound is gone :/
If you have it up and running, did you encounter some issues with the volume level? I fell that it's the same level audio in headphones even if it's 10% or 100%.. While running the stock settings, it works fine..
I found that viper audio does not work with downloaded songs in Google music or music unlimited. It works only when streaming which is useless to me.

If you have any other questions you can ask in thread above or OT. Good luck!

How I passed safetynet, got root, adblock and viper-fx to work on OOS 4.0.2 OP3T

I decided to start this thread for a couple of reasons 1 so I can remember what order I did things in to get back after a wipe and 2 so maybe it can help others to setup certain apps how they want and not have to spend the time I did searching and googling.
To start we are going to assume you already have an unlocked bootloader and TWRP installed.
After a fresh wipe I flashed OOS 4.0.2 Full from this thread in TWRP
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/how-to/rom-oos4-0-nougat-op3t-leaked-t3523482
I recommend a fresh wipe because every time I did a dirty flash or restored a backup my Android System started draining battery like crazy and phone would get warm while charging
Without rebooting I then flashed Magisk V10.2 in TWRP
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
Still without rebooting I flashed Franco Kernel in TWRP
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...ernel-franco-kernel-r1-28th-november-t3508904
I then wiped dalvik and cache and rebooted phone.
edit - THIS STEP WILL NOT WORK ON 4.0.3. It has been patched out.
Somewhere in the process my DM-Verity was tripped and although annoying it does not seem to matter and it can be fixed later by following this
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/fix-easy-method-removing-dm-verity-t3544339
After phone booted and I setup account and wifi and I go the play store and install PHH superuser
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.phh.superuser&hl=en
Once installed I open it and click the 3 dots and go to settings
Where it says Superuser access I toggle between Apps only and Apps and ADB till I get the message Superuser granted to Superuser
I then go back into play store and install Magisk manager
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.topjohnwu.magisk&hl=en
I go into Magisk Settings and click the checkbox to Enable Magisk Hide.
I then reboot phone
Once phone reboots I open Magisk manager again and check safetynet. It now passes.
I hate ads, I had been using Adaway from F-Droid with MM but I couldn't get it to work on N
I found this https://github.com/AdAway/AdAway/issues/770 after many searches. About halfway down a user named KreAch3R has comiled Sanjay900's changes into an apk so I figured I would give it a try.
At first I could not get it to activate and block ads
I installed this busybox and then it activates no problems and now most ads (not youtube) are blocked
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=stericson.busybox&hl=en
Now what I really wanted was Viper4arise. I tried flashing some in TWRP and I couldn't get them to work and this led to a couple more wipes. But I really wanted this so I kept searching.
I found this https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/viperfx-mkm-magisk-t3535401
I downloaded it and enabled it in Magisk manager
Still no luck and I couldn't get it to work.
After more googling and reading through the other threads for viper I figured it was deep buffering
I used ES file explorer as I was not at home and went into system/etc and found audio_policy.conf
I commented out the first line I saw that said deep_buffer.
After saving I rebooted and now Viper-fx works
To get it to work with Poweramp I had to set FX compatibility mode in Viper to compatible and in Poweramp audio/advanced tweaks I had to disable Direct Volume Control and Enable MusicFX.
Thanks for sharing
Did you have any special trick to get viper to work ? Tried commenting out the line deep_buffer and still unable to get viper to work.

The only steps I did are what was listed.
I was able to replicate it twice after wipes with same steps.
This is the line I commented out in attached

Ya I realized a SS might help more so I edited it in.

Would you be able to send me that file ? I am just curious what is wrong with my setup.
Just want to say thank you again. Didn't see the PM until now. I was able to use another guide on XDA to get Viper working.
Viper will not work on all apps at any time on OOS 4.0.2. Enable Compatibility mode in settings to get it to work. IMO this produces lower quality audio, but it works.
Still cant get viper working. Nothing of deep_buffer is commanded. Please can you share your audio_policy.conf?

You need to edit in a # on the deep_buffer line.

1) With what app?
2) Did you enable Viper's Compatibility mode?
3) I've also modified audio_policy_configuration.xml to remove deep buffer. Messing with this file too much will break your audio though.

With what app?: I've editted with ES File Explorer.
Did you enable Viper's Compatibility mode? Not tried yet
I don't have changed anything inside audio_policy_configuration.xml

WHat app isn't Viper working with? Viper processes audio on a per-app basis, based on the audio buffer the app uses. Google Play Music, on Nougat, does not pipe through Viper even with modifications to the audio config.
Enable compatibility mode. At the moment this is the only way to get the highest compatibility with apps- like Google Play Music.

It's now working after disabling audio buffer. I use most of the times Spotify to listen to music
I followed same steps earlier. But my selinux is enforcing. I have to set it to permissive everytime on reboot. Permissive fix that comes with arise didnt work for me. Any idea..?
Do you think the Elemental X Kernel would be ok instead of franco kernel? Not sure if I'd get compatibility issues with any of this stuff. Btw not going to try to get adblock or viper fx. Also, do you wipe the system or just what TWRP has already checked?

Not sure. I know it all worked the same with stock kernel.
Normally when I need to wipe my phone it is because I have really messed it up so I wipe system and data.

Help with system apps

I'm very very new with OP phones. I just bought(or better it's arrived) yesterday my first OP. well I have the OP5 128/8. I have soon rooted it without no problems. I have installed the TWRP, and then magisc. through check rooter everuthing seems fine. now, I wanted to move an app, (fake GPS joystick) to system app, because of that boring may security patch. I used ES explorer, and I thought that everything went good. sadly when I open the app(that should be system) I cannot use it as a system app, sone option is locked on of... does someone may know the possible problem for this?

Try using this app to convert it to system app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.buak.Link2SD
ok thank you, well I tried, I granted superuser acces to the app, but when I tried to turn it in a system app it tells me Failed. and then this error occours.
mount: '/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/system'->'/system': Device or resource busy
There is a flashable version of the app linked on there facebook-page.
https://dgsmartstudio.github.io/faq/assets/FakeGps-v2.3.zip
Uninstall your version of Fake GPS and flash this version of the app. Go to the app-settings and mark the Root-Modus.
Now it should work fine ?

Internal audio capture

Hi guys.
Does anyone know how to properly capture internal audio from devices with 7+ android onboard?
There is app at PlayStore named Internal Audio Plugin. To make it work, you need to push it to /system/priv-app at 8 android manually, cuz somewhy it doesnt push itself there even with root access. After operation, it works, but the sound shutters.
I'd be appriciated for any advices or hints that you encountered.
Still looking for solution
thread update
have to post this message so it pop up, sorry ._. still looking for solution
bump
Try with app systemizer from magisk repo
