I'm really curious about the reasons for flashing a cell-phone.
Recently a lot of people are flocking to xda with clearly no basic understanding about flashing in general.
Is it the coolness factor? Is it the "control-back"-thing? Flashaholics by any change?
Because Samsung wont give us 4.2.1 that's why CM10.1
Because even without any and all programing knowledge i can learn how my phone works, and follow the process of adapting a rom to a phone, and in the worst case fix it myself. Because with a custom rom, you always know what and why is not working (assuming you know how to use a search button). Because of the ∞ options (was waiting for a chance to use this symbol). Personalized quick settings. Lockscreen weather. Undervolting. Backups (TB/CWM). better keyboard when longpressing "a". SMS popups. Designs. No bloatware. And last but not least the ability to laugh at damnsung. They want me to buy a new phone because my phone is supposed to be on ics and long since outdated, and here i am, running 4.2.1...
I get laughed at when i mention my flashing and phone-nerdness in general, so not the coolnessfactor.
What's a custom ROM?
I already did it on my Galaxy 3 and I want to get the best out of my phone.

There are lot of things that you can get by flashing a custom rom than using a stock rom
Because I want features not present in stock rom.

Why the f*** does everybody want to know which ROM I'm using? Seriously, isn't this thread not enough for ROM discussion:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1443995 ?
Does everyone have to create a new thread for always the same question? Your not the first and not the last who created this thread, and I'll post this to all the threads that ask the ROM question.
CM9 JB, But Google play isn't working, Don't know why

Which ROM has the best Tablet UI?
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app
Without a doubt, AOKP.
Might as well asked what's the best ROM... nobody can tell YOU what the best rom is. You're just gunna get a bag of opinions. Just go flash one please.

I don't want to know the best one. Just the one with the most tablet UI features.

AOKP always has some nice features. Most of them get ported to Codename Android (CNA).
I don't know what CM offers for tablet mode.
ParanoidAndroid has some wonderful settings that let you decide how each app behaves. I like it a lot, but I couldn't find the ability to add additional software buttons, Linario combines AOKP and Paranoid, but I just didn't like it as much as CNA.
I keep meaning to try others but that's all I've really had time for at the moment...
Which one do you guys think is better
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
Try them both and decide for yourself which one you like better. Just as an FYI, "what's the best rom?" threads tend to get locked really quickly.

I just want opinions
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
But they aren't productive to this community. In a way you put one ROM down. Its not respectful to the devs. So the best answer we can give you is to try them both for a few days each and see how they run. BTW , I believe, they are both going to android 4.3 right now which is still buggy.

Would any user like this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2483043 ported to T-Mobile G2? If so may I get a couple of testers?
I'd like to try the Rom but I can't give the time needed to be a tester ATM.
there are people that will help you in the T-Mobile dev threads, I don't know if they watch the general threads
I can test drive it for fun ?

Not to bash Nexus flashoholic but when I had the Nexus I thought the rom selection was comical considering they all looked and felt the same.

I don't know if you are familiar with Viper4Android FX, but that would be a great implementation as well if set up and tweaked accordingly. Although I have heard of the Mod and this FX butting heads and not working together. Would be nice to have a link to those who want it if that is not too much trouble. I've been trying to figure out how to get the most optimal loud bluetooth sound with my Jaybird Bluebuds X wireless earbuds. After some effects and modding with my Nexus 4 previously I feel I got a louder sound compared to the LG G2 even after that tweak I linked you. I wonder if it is even possible to get that level of sound out of this device. Thanks for all the hard work for us T-Mobilians! I guess we didnt get left in the dust after all compared to AT&T and Verizon
The ROM is in TMobile section if you guys have not found it...

I think you are going to see a drastic decline in ROM development with all the Xposed apps out there.
Pretty easy to download Xposed and the apps you want. Then do your own mods. Easier to tailor it how you want it. IMO
There is stuff in the works but I need experienced testers for some of these.
One test, which can be done through Odin, I am about to post.
Well that sucks, I personal like finding a rom that has the features and everything. I really hope someone develops a aosp rom.

As garwynn mentioned, work is being done. Just not many hands on deck yet is all. Have some patience, I think this phone will have some great options soon enough.

Device has only been out for a week. Beginning progress always takes a bit to kick in, but I already see some big names in here digging in. The galaxy devices almost always have a strong following. Patience?
