Nexus 7 32gb need help! - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just got nexus 7, I updated it to 4.2.1 then used toolkit and I accidentally used the version for 16gb or 8 and didn't notice 32gb down on the bottom. I then did the all in one and it was telling me to use the older boot loader version. After doing all Idk what's happening. Its not holding CWM I have to keep flashing it on to work and Idk how to unbrick it because I'm boot looping.. I wonder if flashing a ROM may help but I'm not sure witch section my nexus 7 is supposed to be in. I have nexus 7 32gb no 3g.
Please help me! Thanks.
Also I'm not a noob.

Try wugs tool to return to stock firmware. Then just run the right version. If recovery doesn't stick with his tool then use twrp. That recovery will stick. Then you can use the flashable zip from Dev section for cwm touch.

I think flashing any ROM will fix this problem. Is android development the correct section for my nexus 7? I had tried flashing a WiFi+3g kernel witch also gave me bootloop

It can be used to install stock as well as root.
Also android Dev is the right section but there are a few different variants of the nexus 7. People have had issues with certain things even if they are meant for their device.

[Q] Nexus 7 wifi 8GB and Nexus toolkit

Hi everyone,
I want to buy a Nexus 7 wifi with 8GB of storage and I want to know if this device is supported by the Nexus 7 toolkit.
I'm asking this because in the nexus 7 toolkit main page the N7 8GB version is not mentioned (there are only references for the 16 and 32GB versions).
Please let me know.
Thank you.

It should work fine. It most likely was not mentioned because the 8Gb was basically discontinued for a period of time. Still, fastboot is a much better option.

Thanks, I did some tests with fastboot in ubuntu and it worked well...is there some documentation about?
In particular I need to find the fastboot cmd line needed to UNroot a device.
P.S : I already know how to lock/unlock the bootloader.

You don't root or unroot using fast boot. Technically you can unroot by flashing a new stock system.IMG in fast boot.
The only thing you will usually be using fast boot for is locking/unlocking boot loader, installing recovery the first time, and reinstalling stock images in case of issues in the future.
There are guides on this very site in this very sub forum that explain how to root and flash recovery without the crutch of a toolkit. They are in the stickies.

Recovery mode problem.

Hey guys i just got my Nexus 7 today and i am in love with it. Been doing the setup for all the stuff to root it and flash a new ROM onto it but ive come across a small problem. I used the Nexus 7 Toolkit V5.0.0 created by Mark Skippen and was able to finally unlock and root my device, the only problem is it wont let me boot into recovery mode and it just shows a little deaad android guy with the x thing coming out of his stomach or whatver it is. Im on 4.2.2 and am using the JDQ39 build. Any suggestions on what else is needed to be downloaded would be greatly appreciated!

Bought a Nexus 4, but am worried now.

I just purchased a Nexus 4 and upon checking out the device I noticed the model number says Full JellyBean on Mako. What does this mean?

Mako is the code name given for the nexus 4 device. Jelly Bean is an Android release.
Mine said: Nexus 4. Did you buy it new or used. If used and you're worried, just flash the factory stock 4.3 image which will erase everything previously.

I bought it off of Craigslist. Person listed it as new, still had the plastic on it.

Most likely a custom rom. It doesn't look like the kernel is stock kernel to me. It's safest to do a full wipe and factory reset. You should update to 4.3 anyway, use this guide:

I wasn't able to update to 4.3, and my computer wasn't recognizing the phone either. However, after booting the phone into bootloader, my computer recognized it. So I unlocked it and am currently flash stock 4.3 onto it via Nexus Toolkit.
Hopefully it works out for you. However, try not to use toolkits in the future. If something goes wrong at some point you won't know what to do if you rely on toolkits. Learn the manual method of flashing.

I know how to manually flash and all that. It's just I already had Toolkit installed and just thought it would be quicker.

Yeah, just enable USB debugging and it should recognize. If USB debugging doesn't work (it should), try installing drivers again (manually).
Don't forget to hit "thanks"

Nexus 7 not accepting a new Rom

So hey guys I've an Asus nexus 7(grouper) with 4.4 ota that's unlocked, rooted with tarp . I used Wigs program to do all of the above. But for some reason every time I try to install a new Rom( purity/cm11) it always fails. I've been rooting and installing custom roms for years now and never had this problem. Please help.

I am having the same problem with different roms and would be interested in knowing the cause - some work and others fail.
I have had that problem. I had to update TWRP. That fixed it rite up.

Flashing rom issue

Ok I was updated with the new ota parnoid android rom. Tried to flash it and immediately it failed. I really don't know how to read the error codes, but I did see it said my Nexus 7 (2012) was a tilapia instead of a grouper. I know for sure i suppose to flash only grouper roms from parnoid. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? I'm trying to flash the cm11 rom and stuck.

Tilapia is the GSM version (cellular data). Grouper is the WiFi only model. You may be using the wrong version.
I'm using the ota update they usually send. This time isn't not working properly. Even if I try to flash any rom under a gig i it won't flash. I think since I updated to 4.3 things not operating right
