Hi Guys ,
i ordered my Nexus 4 on 30.11.12 and google confirmed my payment and send an email saying the phone will be shipped 5-6 weeks .
so i decided to wait for it , few days ago i read on some forums that guys who ordered the device after me (in December ) already received it while I'm still waiting with no status update from google.
anyone else encountered this ?

Sounds fairly typical.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1962514 - long thread, but you're definitely not the only one.
Email CS or wait the 5-6 weeks first?

I got an email saying mine was delayed again (to the 14th).
9th > 15th > 29th > 14th ...the delays are getting kind of old now.
Every time I have been on Google Play since Christmas the Nexus 10 has been "out of stock". However, whenever I Google "Nexus 10" and click on 'News' it says "Nexus 10 finally re stocked". Some were posted days ago, some hours ago. I'm really confused. I literally need (in other words really badly want) one of these tablets!

Its only been about 24 minutes you posted this question.
There is a device-specific forum for Nexus 10, and I guess its better this question be there, as you'd get more user responses who own this device.
And on every other forum I use I get a reply in less then 5 minutes. Always.
Here's my reply. Last week Wed, Google Play listed as out of stock for 16 & 32gb. On Sat, they were in stock and I ordered a 32gb. Should be here by Thu.
Edit: I just checked now and they are both in stock.
Order one already.

Hi Everyone,
As I do with many Nexus devices, I intend to maintain a thread here with links to all the stock OTA updates for the HTC One Google Play Edition. Each time there is an OTA update, its direct link on Google's servers will be posted here for reference and posterity. I also mirror these files at http://www.randomphantasmagoria.com/htc-one/m7_google.
Any questions about flashing these OTA updates can be discussed and answered here as well.
You must have S-OFF on your bootloader in order to flash OTAs manually on a GPE One.

Considering that HTC has delivered the GPE KitKat update to Google for release, it's logical to expect it to begin rolling out this week or next. If anyone gets the OTA update, please get the filename of the OTA ZIP before applying it. You can find it in your /cache folder if you're rooted. If you're not rooted, the process is a bit more involved. PM me for details.
Thanks!

DOH! Stupid typos. My bad. I fixed it. Thanks for pointing it out.
Thanks to XDA forum member @EthanFirst, we now have the link to the direct OTA update for JDQ39 to JWR66Y. Thank you!
Thank for create forum. :good:
How to get the OTA URLs
The easiest way to get the OTA URLs is to search in the output of:
Code:
adb shell dumpsys dropbox --print event_log
On Linux this can be done with "grep":
Code:
adb shell dumpsys dropbox --print event_log | grep android.clients.google.com
This can be done even after the update.
Wonder if tomorrow will vebthe day now that n4 and other nexus devices have gotten full access to otas. And moto x devices are starting to get it.

I did the GPe conversion to my phone and got an OTA message only to realize it was another 4.3 update. I hope today is the day. I really hope Google isn't sitting on it until Samsung gets the S4 GPe update to them.

I really am sad to this GPe stuff, the idea is great, but something always fails: if isn't a delay by HTC, it's a delay from Google and we stay watching damn Motorola getting updates...
I thought that it would come after N4 OTA (wich sucks but I can understand), now it seems like we are waiting for Samsung update, probably the delays are just Google marketing at work...
15 days is pretty good for deliverance but first time we prayed for 15 days, now we pray for 15 work days...
My opinion? We are not getting 4.4 update before December. Now I know why my previous phones were nexus and my next probably will be too...

The GPE updates aren't scheduled together. The HTC One GPE got JWR66Y almost a week before the GS4 did. Also, it appears there were some problems with those initial KitKat builds. I'm sure that has something to do with the delays. For me, 3 weeks after a full Nexus rollout is acceptable. A full Nexus rollout did not start until about 3 days ago. KRT16O only launched for N7 and N10 wifi models, and was quickly pulled. KRT16S started about 3 days ago and THAT is the one that is seeing rollout to the complete Nexus line. So, as far as I'm concerned, my 3 week counter began 3 days ago.

HTC is still claiming that the timing is up to Google, at least on their Twitter. https://twitter.com/HTCUSA/status/403666789080375296
They have made no indications that they need to use a new build or re-deliver code to Google.

I wish they never would have made a deadline promise. they never should have updated us that they sent the code to Google. samsung isnt doing this. how do we know they havent sent their code to Google as well. there has never been a need in the past to tell consumers this info.

The problem with only one SIM working, was for the custom ROMs and the single SIM ROM when installed on the XT1033. This is an official update from Motorola so everything should be working.
Is there an easy way to get a dual sim version when one lives in Europe?

Hopefully you are correct. But AFAIK USB Otg stopped working OTB with Kitkat . It would be great if there was some kind of check list (what's working and what's not) for those who want to upgrade to Kitkat .

I got one this week via mobicity uk - ordered it on Tuesday Jan 28th and it arrived on Monday 3rd Feb.
Glad I read the reviews after I'd ordered it (never used mobicity before!!!) but they were great, delivered ontime and for £200 - phone even came with a uk moto charger in the box (but no usb lead).
Very happy with the phone - I have 2 EE sims in it and its perfect - even with the dual sim I'm seeing 2 days of battery life (I often keep data to 2g as I have wifi at home and work).
hoping for kitkat, well maybe - I'm not sure its that big a deal to be honest as its excellent on 4.3
****** is that really my first post after 7 years???? I'm pretty sure I had another username when I was into modding various HTC windows mobile handsets years ago....
I just got a new Nexus 10 at Walmart for $350 and was wondering if I should update to KitKat? I have seen several people complaining about it. Or should I just root and install a custom rom....although it seems like there aren't a lot of choices anymore. Do you have one that you would recommend also? Thanks
Well KitKat is really recommended over past versions : it does consumes less RAM and has overall better performance. Furthermore you can find a bunch of good ROMs around: Omni, slimkat, CM,..

I was hesitant also, bought mine about two weeks ago, and have had none of the issues on 4.4.2 that some reported on the first version of 4.4.

When I first set up the tablet, it notified me of an update from 4.2 to 4.3. As soon add I updated, I received another notification that an update was ready for 4.2. I waited about a week, since I had read about some having problems with the initial rollout. I updated to the latest version once I decided that I was going to unlock and root my Nexus 10 (haven't loaded a custom ROM yet).
I received the both update via download (settings > about tablet > system update) . I received notification once I logged into my Google account.

OK. I guess the deal I got at Walmart wasn't too bad. I started to wait it out and see if they came down any lower. They have had four at $350 for a while and know one had touched them. Still going to keep an eye on the rest of them. Liking the 10 so far.
