Hi, I get a red triangle when I try to boot into recovery. It is the green droid with his red triangle. I tried to mess around with it but still couldn't figure it out. Someone please help me out.
Thanks.
H.
Did you use a toolkit to flash twrp recovery? I know that the toolkit has a problem with that. Download GooManager from the play store and get twrp from there.

When the triangle comes, try pressing the power button and then volume up

Fastboot flash twrp. Then after that if you don't like twrp you can use the zip to flash cwm touch from dev section.

Just flash twrp from the app. I think that's what you're asking...

If you can get your device into bootloader mode, use the Nexus7 toolkit to flash your device back to stock using stock ROM 4.1.2, your device will be like new again. Then you can re-root or whatever.

I tried using the Nexus root toolkit in the sticky above, but after i tried to unlock it, it as gone into boot loops and i cant do anything. There is not custom recovery installed yet and when I do try to go to recovery mode, all i see is a little android man with his stomach open with a red exclamation point above him. Does anyone have any tips?
Just click around on volume rockers like up and down a couple of times. Until you will see recovery. Then factory reset and reboot.

You can't, only mods can..
But this thread brings up a good question for someone like me coming from a locked bootloader device with hacked custom recoveries which I knew how to use in dire situations..
Anyways, say I botched my system on the N10 and I am bootlooping, how do get in to custom recovery to flash a different ROM/zip/backup? Stock recovery? I am currently using TWRP - and I like it.

To access the hidden menu in stock recovery tap the volume down button while holding the power button. You can then factory reset and recover from the bootloop. This is a common issue.
I found a solution
All you need to do is root it or re-root it... It worked like a charm!
I just sideloaded the 4.2.2 update and now my recovery mode shows the red triangle error. I can still boot into Android fine and what have you, but TWRP is gone. I tried to factory rest the device in the error screen, but that didn't fix it. Again I can still boot fine, but TWRP is replaced with the red triangle. Any ideas how to fix it? Thanks!

Assuming you're rooted...? Download and install goomanager from the Play store. Open it and tap the menu button (three dots at upper right) and select Install Open Recovery script. It will prompt for confirmation and then download and install TWRP for you.

Use fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-x.x.x.x-manta.img to get TWRP back?
Wow I completely forgot about this. Exams happened and then I forgot to reply. I was a moron and was trying to flash the Toshiba Thrive TWRP(2.4.1.3) not reading that it was for the Thrive. Flashed 2.4.1.0 manta and it took no problem. Thanks anyhow! I'm going to leave this topic in case anyone else is as dumb as I am(I sure hope not ) so they don't freak out over TWRP disappearing.

Hello forgive me if this is the wrong place on this forum for this topic.
I unlocked my phone with the wugfresh method and did keep it stock ROM. Now my sweet google phone wants to update OTA but it won't do it.
Can someone help me. I want to go 4.3 and keep it stock, and rooted: )

Do it manually by downloading the Google factory images and flashing them yourself. Can either flash them through a toolkit like I did (which most people wouldn't recommend), or you can flash them yourself with fastboot. A quick search or look around will show you how to do it
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4
Do you mean that selecting the download/install button will not do anything?
Did you install a custom recovery?, you need a stock recovery for it to work, I have the stock recovery image itself if you need it.

Indeed de download/install button didn't do anything. I have custom recovery twrp on it.
I did downloaded the nexus 4 image and unpacked it. And tried to install true a toolkit but with no luck.

i am using the wugg fresh method now
Use fastboot to flash the image from your computer. Efrant has a guide for returning to stock in General.
This, yet again, is why people shouldn't use toolkits.
gues thanks my nexus is back alife with the post in the general, id managed it. thanks guys.
this method brings me some old dos memories back :highfive: hhehe was fun afterwarts
now running stock again with 12gb memm
Hi everyone,
I let my Nexus 7 update via the OTA update. It seemed to go OK but now when I boot I just got the Google logo, then these "bouncing" circles that appear to have taken the place of the original boot animation.
It doesn't seem to boot any further? Can anyone help?
I had this last night when my device updated, I just turned out off and back on and it seemed fine but I did lose root access,

I had this problem when I had a custom kernel on the device. If that's the case for you, just fastboot flash the boot image from the Nexus Binaries page.
Otherwise, you might need to adb logcat to see what's going on. For me it wasn't obvious what was up, it just kept getting to a certain spot in the boot and dalvik was crashing. I just figured it out by trying stuff.
If all else fails, you can try flashing the whole system as well, start fresh in case you've made other modifications to the ROM, although OTA's usually fail in those cases.
I do have cwm installed.

Forgive the question, but is your MOJO rooted? I believe the method you're using should work if you're rooted. (Someone please correct me if I'm missing something.)

If you haven't already, you can get SuperSU from the Play store and I believe it should tell you if you're not rooted (you'll likely need it anyway if you are rooted). You can also get a root checker app from the play store, or if you have an app that has root functions (like es explorer), you can open it and try to enable them.

Ok cool so when I try to put it in recovery mode and I see the exclamation mark above the android what do I do then or should it automatically go in recovery mode?
I'm struggling
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sorry about forgetting this earlier, but I should have remembered if you're using quick reboot successfully, then that pretty much would mean you're rooted.

So it looks like the red triangle is the stock recovery. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39315483&postcount=5
Sorry, but I never keep stock recovery, so I guess that's why I didn't notice.
So you're probably going to want to flash TWRP recovery so you can actually take advantage of your modded MOJO. Flashify is the easiest method to do this without a computer. You can also backup your stock recovery with Flashify so you can return you're MOJO to it's original state at some point.
Here's where you can find TWRP recovery:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mad...overy-twrp-2-8-2-0-recovery-mad-catz-t2973640
Just download the zip file to your MOJO, backup your original recovery in Flashify, then flash TWRP recovery with Flashify. You should then be able to boot into recovery. The towelroot/Flashify method is what I used, so I expect it to work fine for you.
Even if something goes south, the MOJO is a great device to screw around and learn about root stuff as you can't really brick it. You're always just a male to male USB plug away from fastboot resurrection.

It shouldn't. The only thing I can think of that would make your MOJO lose root is if you flash one of unjustified's roms (other than cyanogenmod) without flashing the SuperSU zip immediately after.

Hmm, I seem to remember that happening to me once, and then when I opened Flashify before clicking on the TWRP zip, it worked. Have you opened Flashify, and if so, did a SuperSU permissions request popup?

In that case, you should be able to enable root in the CyanogenMod settings under developer options as stated here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63238624&postcount=273
And then you can flash the stock MOJO rom found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mad-catz-mojo/general/stock-rom-mojo-please-help-t3040895
Alternatively, if you previously made a backup of your stock MOJO rom in TWRP, then you can flash that instead.
