Hi!
I'm from the Salsa board but I recently ordered a DHD and it should arrive tomorrow... So I started this thread for newbies where more experienced users can post the top 5-10 roms they used. I can't make a contribution yet seeing mine hasn't arrived yet but I'm sure a lot of you long time users could. Cheers.

I disagree, with uselss, the idea is there. But OP really should have included a poll (multiple ticks)
:L
I've tryed several roms, but I realy like jellytime 4.1.2 developed by Randomblame. Good performance 'n no annoying bug.
Another great 4.2 rom is under develope by synergy named codfire x, but still several serious problelems.
Joy ur new dhd.

The Corner approves..
That thanks button ain't gonna push itself!
If you want sense, then sabsa prime is indeed the way to go.
but you should also give the jellybean roms a try, they are really smooth.

has anyone seen that test rom leak?
http://tech2.in.com/india/news/smart-mobile-phones/htc-desire-hd-gingerbread-rom-leaked/197262/0
is it real?
Yes. If you had looked in the Development forum you'd see there's at least 4 custom ROMs already using it as the base.
I'm using:
[ROM] Android Revolution HD 4.0 β 1
It's all good apart from the noddy app drawer (hope they dont stick with the 'paged' layout)
Hats off to the devs here glad there are plenty of geeks with this phone
Dont like the app drawer page layout so changed to cyanogen and it's normal again.

Android Revolution HD 4.0 beta 1 is cool and stable!
I flashed ARHD 4.0 β1 yesterday and it's already better than ARHD3.0
Beta 2 should be available until weekend. Mike1986 is doing great work!
I just installed Leedroids gingerbread on a friends and it seems fine, except Activesync is not working.
All in all seems nice
I'm going to test the Revolution one now

Im also on the Beta 1 from Revolution HD 4.0 and almost perfect.
Dont like the sound and also app drawer.
Battery is really good: went down 30% over 16 hours.
Been awake since 8 with some calls and wifi on. Pretty good.
Waiting for the Beta 2 coming out tonight/tomorrow.
I will go for the minutes ago released AR HD 3.1, until Mike releases 4.0 based on HTC RUU.
AR HD is the best ROMs for HTC DHD!
And, this is my first post here.. need another nine to post in dev forum..
After searching the HTC desire HD sub forum i couldn't find any post where i can see which rom's are most used.
so i thought it would be a nice idea to make a poll thread.
it would be interesting to see which roms are used by the forum members and why.
it can also help to make a decision for many new users. ( if so... don't forget to thank me )
so here we go..... vote for your rom and describe in reply why you choose it. and also share your experience with the previous rom's.
p.s: you can ignore LeeDroid HD Kernel, MDJ's Custom Kernel, LordMod UE, LordMod HD, LordMod ... as these are kernels and not rom's.
...............
btw the rom i have right now is " true sense ioo rom". this because sense 3.0 was the primary reason i rooted my phone and joined this forum. now i have entered the jungle , i know more. thinking about trying leedroid or coredroid. cause i really need a better wifi working.
so any idea which rom can give me the best wifi signal?

gonna pull my mytouch out of retirement to take on vacation next week. what are your recommendations for the most stable custom roms? i have TDJ's miui on there now, but would like something new to play with while im gone. post your favorite!
People says CM7 is the most stable.
I'm using Dark Unicorn v.2.5 for ICS and it's very stable in my opinion.
Android Revolution HD, Miui v4 and my personal favorite CM9 Mimicry

If I wanted an iPhone I'd buy an iPhone
CM7.2 or ARHD for Gingerbread.
AOSPX for ICS.
Those are all stable.
thanks for the suggestions guys! what are your thoughts on IceColdSandwich AOKP? i think ics is the direction i wanna stick with (since im so used to it on my amaze and s3)

Free: Yes
Better: Don't make me laugh, to late
I've had the best luck with Energy, stable and good battery life. I was running Dark Unicorn for a bit and was really liking ICS, but I kept having stability issues with apps like GMail and FB. I got tired of troubleshooting and went back to Energy. I'll probably give some of the ICS ROM's a spin again before too long.
I keep drifting back to Virtuous Affinity 2.05. It gives me better battery life than any other ROM I've used, I have noticed almost no bugs, except for the upside down FFC, and I'm a huge fan of the Beats audio equalizer included with Sense.
Edit: Android Revolution HD seems a lot better. I'd never used before seeing it mentioned repeatedly in this thread. It's my new daily driver and I'd recommend trying it if you like sense at all.

The question or which ROM is the stablest is one of those very subjective things. "Stable" means different things to different people, though the Gingerbread ROMs tend to be the most bug-free and feature-complete. There is a ROM index at the development forum listing most of the ROMs available here. Just try a few for yourself.
Well Ok then I mean , Which is the most feature complete??

Like I told you, the Gingerbread ROMs (though the ICS ones are also quite stable and the JB ones are getting there). Beyond that, I strongly recommend that you try several out for yourself. The development forum's index will be a good resource. Additionally, each ROM's thread's first post will describe the highlights of that particular ROM. The most active ROMs will be clustered around the top of the dev forum.
Thanks pal

I have used BlackOut Incredible v3.1, Sabsa Prime v5.0 and TrickDroid v1.1.1.. I advise you to use TricDroid if you want sense 4 and BlackOut Incredible if you want sense 3.6. Both are stable.
Here is an up-to-date list of HTC Desire HD Custom ROMs from XDA.
Here are a few older custom ROM screenshots.
I enjoyed MIUI (Gingerbread version) for ages. The ICS version is also good. Many people like CyanogenMod. As people have said, it's a personal thing based on how you enjoy the feel and look of the UI.
I currently enjoy using Blackout ICS Incredible v3.1.0 which is my first HTC Sense ROM in a long time.
Hopefully ROM threads include screenshots for you to get an idea of things. For the other specs or included or missing things, you need to read the thread.
Of course all of the Desire HD XDA ROMS are listed in the Desire HD Android Development section.
Should it be a rom with sense or not? I would try cayanogen mod 7.2 or andoird revolution hd. but by the way, you are the only one who can say that is good for you
Thanks all. That was very kind of all of you

Just read in the cfx thread that synergy and existz are already getting their hands dirty with 4.2 source. There is nothing more awesome than that. I can't wait to see 4.2 running on a device that HTC didn't even give ICS. Might put off that upgrade..

Synergye may be uploading a 4.2 teaser tonight with limited features! (from the cfx thread)
I was just trying out official 4.2 on nexus 7, pretty exciting stuff! Will be interested in seeing performance on ace, it is noticeably smoother and faster on nexus.
As for 4.1.2, I might stick with cfx SR5 until a 'stable' 4.2 is ready.
