Android video streaming - Networking

My wife owns a Samsung i9000 and I have a Samsung i9300. We will obtain a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7'' P3113 next month. My initial idea was use it as a travel media player for my son, buying a car seat holder and a HDTV adapter. But I've readed P3113 has not TV out, so my questions are:
1) Is it possible tv out on P3xxx family via minijack-rca or usb-hdmi?
2) Is it possible to stream from the P3xxx to the i9000 or i9300 without a wifi router or 3G connection? I'm thinking in a hotel in a foreign country...
3) What is the "best" 7'' tablet with tv out?
Thanks in advance.

Short Answer:
No
Maybe
Not sure...
Long answer:
1. Android doesn't currently have drivers for external video adapters
2. The easiest way I know of to do this would be over wifi, but since a wifi router is out of the question, you should see if one of your devices can enter a wifi infrastructure mode. (This would effectively make it a wifi router without internet connectivity) you could then grab an http server off the play store and point it at your video directory.
There might also be a way to do this over bluetooth, but I'm not sure.
3. the Acer Iconia Tab A100 has micro hdmi built in. is it the best? Not sure.

DLNA Setup?

I don't know if anyone can help me but I figured I could ask. I have a LG BluRay DVD Home theater System that has DLNA ability that is hooked to my HD tv that is not. My home theater reciever is not currently hooked up to my wireless network but I see that the receiver does have a ethernet port in the back. I am mainly trying to connect my galaxy s3 to my tv to stream video etc. Does anyone know if I direct connect the DLNA capable home theater receiver to my wireless router, which will connect it to my wireless network, will I then be able to send info from my galaxy s3 to my theater system which will show up on my TV? Sorry for the noob question but i got to start somewhere.....Any information will help based on my situation of not having a DLNA capable TV lol

If the blu ray player is dlna capable you should be able to find your galaxy s3.
On your SGS3 go to settings/more settings/nearby devices/enable file sharing.
I have connected my galaxy s3 with both Sony bdpbx59 and Samsung bdd5700 blu ray players but with choppy video playback.
I have researched online and many say this may be due to weak Wi-Fi on the blu Ray players but I'm not sure as i tested both with and without Ethernet connection and had the same issue.
I am going to swing by best buy tomorrow to test a few more out.
Let me know how yours works out.

Media sharing between two android devices or ipad

hi,
i just bought the OTG cable and a 64 GB stick. so i thought watching movies stores on the stick on the nexus is a good thing but what if i want to watch them on the ipad with the bigger screen !!
on home wireless network thats no problem. just install a media server app and i could watch movies stored on the nexus on the ipad.
but is there a way to do that without having both devices in the same wireless network? i mean everywhere ?
wifi direct ? wifi tether ? bluetooth sharing ? or something ?
didnt got it working till now !
thx

My S2 as a Smart TV hub idea

Hi all,
I had my S2 for a while now and I'm thinking of just connecting it to my TV to be use as a smart hub (media centre) as I don't have a smart TV. I'm sure I'm not alone with an aging S2 and moving onto a newer smart phone.
My Idea are:
- connect the S2 via HDMI to the TV
- use a small Bluetooth keyboard with track pad or maybe some other remote.
- try out probably XBMC
- Disable any phone feature from it (ie phone, sms, etc..)
My goal are:
- use it as a online player - Netflix, youtube, etc...
- Skype
- video player
- stream video from network
- audio player
This will be my first attempt and will be spending some money for the accessories.
Has anyone done a similar set up.
It will be great for some opinions or advice. Or issues it might not work.
Interesting idea.
You might want to think about how you're going to use it with the limited battery life first, because you won't be able to charge the phone when connected through HDMI.
I already do this occasionally albiet minus the keyboard atm,... I use it on short breaks away I took my Mhl cable and a short 1m hdmi cable to plug into the tv in the hotel room using Catchup TV app for more channels than they offered and TV Portal for streaming (free hotel Wi-Fi ftw! )... also use it for some other stuff such as watching avis I have already put on my 32gig card and finally playing my music collection through the tv speakers
re: power supply Mhl cable needs power/charger cable to work anyway also it charges at the same time
I always carry a spare charger

of course the phone charges when connected to hdmi. it does not even work if not plugged into the power outlet first.
Flog your S2 and buy a Pendroid.

Thanks guys.
I got a mhl cable and it's awesome. just plug it in and it works straight away. Got the cheap version though but I guess it won't make that much difference. All I need to do is get a mod to permanently set it up as landscape mode and probably increase screen size. Will look for a new rom probably that can cater the mod.
Just need to figure this all out before spending more on a keyboard.
I had pretty much the same idea. Works well. Here is my thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2569613
I am going to try running xbmc and see how that goes.
Just to let you know, I installed xbmc...details on my thread (see the above post!)

you cant do that! your tv doesnt have the drivers to support the wireless lan adaptor... also your wireless Lan adaptor doesnt have some video output like miracast... so... your only option is to buy a chromecast or somenthing like that. :good:

You can do it.
first: after mounting the WIS12ABGNX Wireless Lan Adaptor to your tivi, you set Lan connection for it
then you turn on : Nearby Devices (In the setting) from your note and you samsung tivi requests to connect to your phone
then you play a video, and press the "Screen Mirroring" button on the stock video player
then you see 2 options, choose your tivi, and enjoy
Hello everyone , my name is Siddharth. I am new to this forum.
I was wondering if I could use Screen Mirroring feature on my Note 3 (SM-N900 , Exynos International model) to stream media wirelessly to a Sony Bravia 42-inch TV (Model: KL V-40S200A) with the help of a Tenda USB WiFi adapter (Model No. W311M).
The TV was brought in February 2008 so it's definitely not a Smart TV or has built-in WiFi. The dongle and was bought in August 2013 to the best of my memory.
It would really help if I could watch photos & videos shot from my phone without connecting those ugly two port MHL or even HDMI cables.

sm-t580 with video-projector

Hi,
I have a SM-T580 and i'd like to connect it to my video-projector (it's a basic projector with hdmi/mhl connections).
My goal is to do some android application demonstrations.
I know that it doesn't support MHL so i can't buy a simple micro usb to hdmi cable. And after reading a lot of things on the internet i'm getting a little lost.
There a similar question here but it's for smart TVs https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-a/help/samsung-galaxy-tab-support-screen-t3177088
For the moment i think the best choice would be to buy a miracast or a chromecast but do some of you already have a similar setup ? because i don't really wan't to buy it if i'm not sure that's it compatible with my tab A. And what do you recommend between miracast and chromecast.
If i missed some possible solutions i'd love to know them.
Regards,
