Try the app earpiece in GPLAY once installed go into the apps settings and put it on 100% also if you would like you can also go into G music and then settings and then EQ and adjust your EQ to the flat setting and try that GOD BLESS YOU

Thanks for that,so should I be getting a headphone logo in the top tray when earphones in use,we have 2 n7 and it doesn't appear on either when using earphones

What I do to activate the app is I go to the apps and find earpiece and touch it and then it will show you volume boost and it will put five lines up in the top left corner I hope all this works for you guys GOD BLESS YOU GUYS and sorry almost forgot no it does not show any head phones just the lines also when you get the volume boost on your screen just hit your go back arrow at the bottom of your screen and that's it Bro take care and GOD BLESS YOU

Headphones

OK so I work as a dish network technician. Sometimes I hook up my headphones to my glacier to listen to some music and run it through my shirt so as for them to not get pulled while working on the ladder and all that. What do you guys think would be the best an easiest way toblisten to my music? How I'm doing it or are there any wireless solutions.. any help is a appreciated.

Assuming you mean access to the music media and not e.g. wireless headphones, if in the USA, try Google Music and mark songs for offline while you're on WiFi, so it won't use up data. Otherwise, I woukd suggest a large memory card.

There is this one Bluetooth+ wireless headphones, at radioshack. I wanna say by Samsung, really nice set. The headphones plug into the Bluetooth, then the headset clips on to your shirt. The earbuds are really strong too,I used them at my work for a while, very nice sound. The price I wanna say is around 60-80, can't remember.

I have to vote for Bluetooth headphones as well. I've tried two pairs: Motorola S9s, and Rocketfish RF-MAB2. The S9s were not worth what I paid for them. The sound quality was ok at best, the earbuds uncomfortable, and the battery life was not great. Their top selling point (for me, anyways) was that they were sweatproof. As I run and work out a lot, I was really looking forward to no more tangles. Turns out, they are not sweatproof. After about 3 weeks of workouts, they crapped out. The controls became unresponsive; I couldn't even get the power button working to turn them off. And I lost my receipt, so there went any replacement.
Did some research and took a shot at the Rocketfish RF-MAB2s. They are absolutely fantastic and better than the S9s in every aspect. Much more comfortable, the sound quality is fantastic, and the battery life is pretty much as advertised. The only drawback is that they are not specifically advertised as being sweatproof. However, I've been using them for over 3 months with no problems whatsoever. As a precaution, I wipe them whenever I feel they might start getting wet, and I bought a few of these covers to make sure sweat doesn't get into the charging port.
Bluetooth works great for me. Search Ebay and you can find a bunch. make sure it's the ones that can transfer media (music), not the ones that are used for calls.
Awesome thanks guys will try some out and let you guys know which ones worked great...I doubt here is but there wouldn't be like just a one eared headphone so I an just listen to music in one ear would there??

Personally, I use the Jabra BT-3030 dogtag adapter. It let's you use the headphones of your choice. I do the same thing with tucking the wires under my shirt. The device is great, streams music and takes calls. There is a Mic built into the top of the device. it has all the music controls and they work as expected, has its own independent volume control too. You can even use it as a remote control if you plug another cord into the phone's jack. Pretty cool if you hook up to a stereo and feel like being lazy.
I prefer in ear buds, so this was the best solution for me. You can find it for $20-30 online.

I used to have an eBay Bluetooth headset that played music through the speaker when connected to my computer, but not on my phone. I think in order for your phone to play music through it, it has to recognize it as a media receiver and most single earpiece sets will only receive call audio.

[Q] how to disable high volume popup.

Hi
Every time I switch my phone off and on and try to listen to music I always crank up the volume to the Max. However , with that I always get a popup saying that its dangerous to listen to music so loud ...

You can go to Settings>Sound and disable "Safe headset volume" or find something else at Sound that might cause it, I can't tell you exactly because i don't have the phone myself.
No such options on stock rom any other suggestions ?

I also want to know how to disable this annoying pop up, worst thing is you absolutely need to press ok to crank up the volume.... I hate it!!

Isn't this a European law of some kind or are you guys in the USA? If you go deaf Google can't be sued if they warned you...

I've noticed the custom ROMS are adding this option to disable to there settings menu but I still can't find instructions or a mod to kill this in stock.

How disable 1 side of my earphones. Left or Right

I work in an office and they don't want us to listen with both headphones, I listen to music loud so is there an app that can disable one side or cross fade? I'm streaming from Google Music. Thanks in advance. Its a weird request I know lol it would be nice if cyanogenmod 10.1 had it already..

An engineer would tell you to just buy some 15 dollar headphones and cut one side off ...I actually have a pair where only one side works cause I pulled the wire by mistake Lol ... Don't think any ROMs come with that option

[Q] Speaker Problem

So I noticed this by accident today, after a few days of usage. The speakers at the bottom of the phone do not work equally(or symmetrically?).
I was holding the phone in a weird position and my fingers were closing the left speaker and sound was fine. I switched hands and right speaker got closed. I wasn't able to hear anything. I thought it was something to do with the video(youtube) then tried with other webpages and the preloaded mp3 from vienna choir. It was all the same. So I get the sound basically from right. The left one is virtually silent.
I can't go the store and test the phones on display. So do you have the same issue?
Only has one speaker other is mic , it's cosmetic
Sent from my LG-D801 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Lol... I actually did 2 exchanges before I figured out there's only a right speaker. The left one is the microphone. Like the guy above me said, it's just for looks.

The most underrated feature on the Moto X

The Speaker!
I've used many smartphones in my days, but the speaker on the Moto X is by far one of the best I've ever heard. It actually has noticeable bass! And the volume is ridiculously loud. I'll even go as far as to say it bests the HTC One's dual speakers
Yea, the speaker on this phone is a beast... Way way better than my sgs3, that phones speaker doesn't even belong in the same category as the moto x.
AT&T Moto X rocking 4.4
It's definitely a good speaker. Gets loud and stays clear.

did not know that since i always have headphones on will try it one of these days
Open up the EQ settings in Google Play Music and set the speaker EQ (not wired stereo) to Extreme Bass! It sounds best in that mode!
Fair warning guys I was playing music at full volume on my 2 day old x and the speaker blew, no sound at all. Yes its great and loud and I love it but be careful. Unfortunately I love it so much I play at full volume on my new x too

define "blown". a blown speaker can still produce sound but sound distorted. a malfunctioning speaker may not produce sound at all. somehow i doubt the speaker inside the phone can move enough air to actually BLOW.
It definitely does not best the HTC One speakers. Not in dynamic range at least.

Anyone else notice that if you set the phone on the counter, face up, it actually gets louder and clearer due to the curve in the back of the phone. The sound seems to ricochet off the surface the phone is sitting on...when I would set my nexus 4 on a counter it would basically mute the speaker.
