Very odd, last night I set my phone to your charge on the wall charger but this morning it had stopped charging before 100%and had begun to slowly discharge.
Anyone have the same issue? Could it be down to overheating?

EDIT: id also like to add that sometimes when im charging it my battery goes from w/e its at to 100% charged randomly, its happened two times now. :| this phone has a lot of problems.
When it stopped charging, it turned the screen on and kept it on all that time. Looks like it decided to jump to USB charging. Did you happen to notice what the previous screen said?
Something like
85% - Charging (AC)
I have a widget that shows the charging status, I did notice that it said AC.
Only thing I did different was to use a 3m USB extension. Done the same plenty of times with my Sensation but this is the first time with the N4.
The screen was on this morning and I have it set to stay on when charging.
I might turn that off when on USB charging (I think Tasker can do that)

In my opinion, I think you shouldn't leave the screen on while charging. The screen is a huge power hog, and I've seen power consumption hit 1A on this phone. (and the charger is only 1.2A, which is why I use my TouchPad's 2A charger for this phone )
It is looking that way. Bit of a drag but I will cope

Same thing has happened to me OP, but mine stopped at 85% instead of 65.

I turned off stay on on power in Dev options

Some things to try
- If you have a custom Recovery wipe the battery stats.
- If your phone is rooted use a file browser to delete "data/system/batterystat.bin". Reboot the phone.

I'm totally stock till I have time to Root.
One possibility: I have Foldersync set to check for new stuff on a Google Drive share at around that time, there was nothing to download this morning but it might be the issue.

I think all it does is refresh the battery checker, doesn't really affect the battery.
I did this and it lasted just as long if shorter than if you don't do it.
Im on my second Epic. Both have had problems reading the correct battery life.
well it works great for me... i kno the batt stats dont show right but if it thinks its gonna die it will no matter what charge is left, maby all this does is put the right charge% back on the screen...idk... but its a noticeable diff on life for me... especially after flashing something in cwm

I had that issue with my epic; I used this thread:
Calibrate Battery thread - This is how you do it!

I used the powered off method; my phone would display the blue indicator like it was full but the percentage would say 97%, that thread fixed that for me.

Ya I know bout that already, & I've did that a long time ago lol my phone was unplugged @ 9am its now 545 & I'm @ 77% & when its about to die I will do this lil trick & bam 10% turns into 30% or more...

Here's another way,
With your phone turned on plug it into a charger. Wait until the blue light turns on. It may read 97%, if so, wait another 15 minutes.
Once the charge reaches about 97%, the blue light turns on and the charge current switches to slow charge. It will charge to 100%, and then cycle between about 96% and 100%.
So, follow the OPs instructions or do nothing.
You,know.... That's one thing that hor (htc) got right. All htc phones charge at a rate of 1% per 1 minute. On our epics, its about 1% per hour. Hor.

Then wonder why you ever wasted time plugging in your phone. Best accessory I ever got for my epic. The wall charger increased the battery life on the stock battery as well.
Hi! I recently got a Nexus 7 and I am somewhat disappointed in the battery life. I am only getting around 3 hrs of battery life and is draining quickly while idle. The battery is also draining while being used while connected to my pc. I am using Jellybro rom along with Trinity Alpha 64. Can anyone recommend the best Rom/Kernel combination for battery life ? I read that Trinity is great for battery life so I'm doubting the Rom (however it works great on my Galaxy Nexus). As I dont always use the same things on my tablet I cant really test the different roms myself.
Thanks

I'm getting great battery life on my stock N7 :|
I tried it the other day, used it all day and it died after around 8-9hrs. Was tethering via bluetooth, brightness set to auto, and either played games, used FB messenger, or read Wall St Journal frequently throughout the day.
Sync and location enabled.
Oh and the N7 will probably discharge faster than your PC can charge it. Typical USB ports on a PC only output .5A of power. Chargers meant for tablets usually provide about 2A of power. So thats another issue.
Might I suggest running the N7 till it shuts itself off due to no battery, then letting it sit and charge overnight till its 100%?

If its enough to make you mad then its prolly not right.
To say your doing in wrong would be a far shot but your tablet is definitely doing it wrong..lol. I was just saying the other night to my girl that I was super happy with the battery because it lasts all day for me. From 7am in the morning till 12 at night. Of course im not using it every waking moment but I do check it/use it as much as I would have normally used my phone. During work I am on wifi till about 430 and then from 430-8/9 while im in class im tethering using it almost the whole time, then when im home for the rest of the night I will be on wifi. The things I do vary from webbrowsing (reddit, xda, etc) emailing attachments, listening to google music and GPS/texting. (yes I use tablet talk which is why I rarely use my phone anymore except to setup tethering)
If you are having any issues with your battery I recommend to get a battery app to reset the stats and try again. If not return to stock then try that method again.. then if NOT return.

Just turn off your google account auto-sync and your battery life should increase dramatically. I use the power widget to toggle sync.
Okay here are some screenshots of my battery life... Not sure if its uploading properly though since im doing this through the app.....
EDIT: Looks like it didnt work... But basically I had about 20.5hrs of total battery time. Screen on for a total of 5.5hrs. Bluetooth on the entire time, WiFi on for about 6 hours.

My N7 discharges faster than the google provided AC mains charger can recharge it. That seems pretty pathetic to me. How is it for others?
Hey everyone,
My mom just got a new Note 3 (yay!), and I have been quite busy exploring all its features. One thing that is nagging me, however is that both the stock browser and chrome are using up a great deal of battery. Wifi is eating 1% Every 1-2 minutes and while using the browsers this is amplified to a percent every 30 secs!
Please help me.

Wifi has always been a battery vampire.
Do you have brightness set to 100%?
How far are you from the router? A bad signal uses more power.
Is anything syncing in the background?

At stand by, the Note 3 hardly uses 1-2% battery every 8 hours or so, but when it comes to calling (core function of the phone!) and wifi+browsers the battery suffers greatly. I haven't tested cellular data yet because of weak signals near my house. Should I let it drop to 0% and charge to 100% or get a new battery? Really disappointed with the battery.
As a general rule you should avoid full discharge/recharge cycles (except for things such as recalibration) as this in the long run shortens the batt's lifetime even more. So it's best to recharge it more often and keep it somewhere between 10-90%.

UPDATE
New update guys:
I left my phone with WiFi on for half an hour and it ate 3% battery from 50% to 47% which includes a phone call. And this time the phone was a bit further away from the router. So, I guess it's not the WiFi that's sucking the juice but the browsers.
Any fix for this?

Fixed
Hey,
Well the issue fixed itself. I now have WiFi running with Smart Screen, Air Gestures, Sync, Screen Rotating and using the web browser to do some surfing and battery hasn't dropped a percent since the last few minutes. It got fixed right after another (it's 3rd) charge and it's working now.
Guess I just needed to charge it a few times for it to work. If anyone else is having issues and have charged it only once or twice, try charging it again. Mine was at 47% when I charged.
Requesting a mod to lock this.
Hey all
I've been having massive issues with my battery life recently, it's never been great however it's actually gotten a lot worse post Kit Kat. I've taken a few screenshots on a few different apps like GSam Monitor, Wakelock detector and Battery Widget, I was wondering if somebody could help me diagnose the issue. Or at least just give me general insights into the numbers that I'm getting in terms of battery life.
EDIT: Just noticed a new issue where a couple of times my battery was somewhere in the 40's and then the phone crashes and when I start it back again it just has about 2 % battery left. Weirdly enough, after charging it for a couple of minutes, that battery now goes up to 30%. Would love to know if somebody has had a similar issue and what might be a way to go about trying to find some sort of solution.

same battery issue here. Its not because software. i tryed CM11m11, Ubuntu Touch, stock.. same problem. Im waitting new battery, because i was not that gentle with batteru when i was repalcing camera 15 days ago.
Usualy moment before phone restart, lose sim signal, then freeze and restart
If flashing stock doesn't resolve it, I'd say the battery is dying. I went from 2 hours between charges to 12-14 with a new battery.

My battery is also dying (switched to new phone now). It averages about 1 hour of SOT over several days and it's only wifi only. I guess I could swap out a fresh one but it goes to show that we need easily removable batteries but they just don't last that long.

Around 3-4 hours when my Bluetooth, mobile data(3G) and gps is on. But I can't tell it exactly cause I'm not using it that much anymore cause my primary phone is the N5.
I replace battery, now everithing works perfect. It was battery problem, not software.
I have 2 S7e and the only thing common with both is the recent firmware update which causes Fast Charging to stop working. I have already tried several chargers, cables and QC 2.0 battery pack. Wireless Fast Charing works fine but not Cable Fast Charging. The Fast Charing switch is turned on in the setting.
I've noticed that Samsung's implementation of QuickCharge 2.0 is anything but, I am only getting about 1000mA at the very most per Ampere. My Nexus 6p routinely got 2870 mA while charging, and same with a ZTE Axon I had for a hot second.
Also, I wouldnt be surprised of some crippling by this latest update, due to the battery explosion problems being seen on Samsung devices.
Using the app, it shows the device is charging under 200 mA. Painfully slow. Even when plugged into a charger. It detects as USB charging, not AC.
Weird, I haven't had this at all.

They did the same thing on the Note 7 before finally killing it. in the API4 FW it killed fast charge.
Yea i also have same issue.fast charging is slow as compared to b4(update)..new update must have done something.
Wanted to know what firmware you guys are on that is causing the problem. I just purchased my T-Mo S7E and couple weeks ago and I don't remember receiving a update because my quick charging seems to be working fine. This phone charges just as fast as my M8, M9 and G4 did. Especially considering it has a larger battery. Here is the software that I'm currently running and what Ampere says I'm pulling in using this Quick charger. I've never used the Samsung's Adaptive Fast Charger, and this is the charger I used on the phones I mentioned previously. Oh and here is a screenshot of a update I just recently received from T-Mo but haven't accepted yet.

Do not accept that update. I advise that you wait. I've noticed my phone randomly rebooting on a daily basis. It's annoying. T-Mobile even gave me a replacement and it's still doing the same thing.
Sent from my SM-G935T using XDA-Developers mobile app
Yeah thing is my S7 has been doing that before the update. Actually it has been doing it randomly since I bought it. No rhyme or reason why but every once in a while it will reboot on its own and this was before the update so I don't think it has anything to do with it. Well at least not for my phone.
Skipped this update and took the 4APK1 updated but cleared my partition cache first, no problems so far and fast charging works, went from 20% to 99% in just over an hour with the phone turned off while charging.

I recently did an insurance exchange through t mobile's company, I received my phones quick through them( 1 to 2 days) but they couldn't get me the same color(black). I wasn't happy about it.
Dang, lucky. They refuse to send me the silver and made me wait for the black to come in. The discontinued the black so I'm not sure what's the point to try to replace my black with another one fresh from the factory.
