Hey so I got beats by dre solo HD headphones and they have a skip and volume adjuster but it doesn't work with my Nexus 7 which is weird cause it works with my iPod nano, does anyone have a fix or anything for this?

2 things. Volume and track skip buttons are different across all devices. Apple has their standard. And then android devices such as Samsung Sony HTC all use their own values/resistances for the switches for the correlating buttons.
Also, the N7 doesn't support the mic as its been researched and only allows for a 3 pole 1/8 in plug. Which brings me to part 2, the 1/8 in jack for most headsets use the mic pole for the resistance values.
Short answer.......wont ever work.

Is it just me or is there an issue with many headphones not fitting the nexus 4?
Can't get my sound magics to fit or an audio out cable to link but to my Bose airplay.
They don't seem to be able to push right in and these are just standard 3.5 plugs
Anyone else had this ?

I had to send my first n4 back because it wouldn't hold a 3.5mm audio jack. The plug would just pop out. Ended up waiting a month to get my new n4.

I have a plan to buy new pair earphone with mic.But I'm not sure about the nexus can work compatible with earphones with mic. Now I consider to get nuforce ne 700m or beyerdynamic mmx 101 ie which I'm not sure it can wok with nexus 4. Who have ever used these for nexus4? If not, can you recommend the earphones with mic work perfectly with nexus 4.

Why don't you try them first and let us know?
The only earphones with mic I've tried were the Samsung ones that came with my note 2 and s3, the mic works. The one which came with one x also works so i guess any headphone with a mic might work too (not sure though, okay?)

You can use the mic but controlling volume cant be control,i tried it!
OK I would like a WiFi adapter to connect to my amp so I can play music from my nexus without having to plug it in, I noticed Logitech do one but its Bluetooth and want a WiFi one if they do them
Anyone doing this already ? What did you use ?
Thanks

The only way I have been able to do it is through Bluetooth. I bought a stereo Bluetooth adapter from monoprice.com and it works very well. I use Google music to stream.

I keep getting told that you lose sound quality using Bluetooth due to compression etc, is this right ?

No. Bluetooth Quality is indistinguishable from wired output, I did a lot of geeky comparison tests as am a recording engineer and believed the same as you, that BT was horrid mush. Not true!
neither could I see with analysis any difference, i couldn't hear any more importantly. From reading the actual quality is equivalent to 320/350 kbps mp3 which is CD quality with a tiny roll off above 17khz, which is **** you can't even hear if you're over 25, and there's no musical value up there I assure you. I have the Logitech one with n10 setup for my dad, all he has to do is turn BT on on the n10, it connects, then play the tunes.. all the other factors in sound quality are way more important like amp ,speakers, placement / stands, room, eq etc.

Thanks I'm going to buy it then

Hi guys
For some reason recently when I plug in my headphones I only get sound from one side.
Can anyone guide me on this? Most likely a hardware problem I know.
Does anyone know if I have to get a new jack port, where I could get one from?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Actually, this has happened to me quite a few times. I found it to be a problem with the headphones/earbuds instead of faulty hardware. First, my left audio would disappear, and about a month later, the right audio would follow suit. I believe it's just a problem with cheap earbuds, or at least was in my case.

Hmm I dont think its the ear buds as they work fine in every other thing. I've also tried different ones in the n7

Have you tried shining a light down the 3.5 jack hole (haha, i said jack hole!) to make sure both the small contacts are sticking out far enough to make contact with the earbuds stem?
