Most Stable Android Yet - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hello Friends,
Been here after a long time gap. SO have no idea about new developments etc..
I am using AmeriCanAndroid AOSP HD2 GB2.3.7 CM7.2 at the moment and want to change it now. Have been great but off late has started hanging, auto rebooting etc..
Please advise which is the most stable option I can move on to.
Cheers!

As said before no one can advice a rom to any one you need to try for your self and this is the wrong section for this post there is a Q&A section for that don't hesitate to post any question there or better search before posting as it may happen for someone to ask the same thing your asking.

As he said, search before posting and post in the correct sections. The most stable version may differ from phone to phone, but generally it's CM7 or MIUI GB.

This has been my experience exactly. Did not like CM7 versions, but the MIUI GB ROM has been my go-to ROM for nearly 2 years now. I'm back to it now, after trying out various 4.0 and 4.1 ROMs, and I have to say the MIUI one is smoother and doesn't get buggy and laggy (haven't had any problems in at least 2 months now, which is actually quite a long time based on prior experience with other ROMs).

What is the most stable ROM with GingerBread+Sense for X8?

What is the most stable ROM with GingerBread+Sense for X8? Or at least, is there a rom with full functions working?
I use Racht's CM7 Roms. It is stable but quite battery drain.
Thanks. Any more choices? Since this one has some major bugs on Camera, FM etc. Also the X8 battery is really weak...

I'm with shpit's ROM, XGin 5.4
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1135343
The camera works only in VGA mode but works
I really don't understand what's wrong whit those threads, i mean, if you look in Development forum there are many Custom Roms topics, every chef gave description of what does and doesn't work in theyr roms, there are people that report back issue and not of that roms, so what i'm asking to myself is:
Is it really necessary to open a thread for "what is the most stable rom?".
Am i wrong here?
I know, this is general forums but it doesn't mean that every new user should post here these no sense threads ( no offence here).
Again, am i wrong? Because sometimes i was told that i'm evil to close some kinds of threads.
I know that new users cannot post in dev section but IMO all these questions have an answer only by reading Rom Threads.
I don't want to be "the evil moderator" since that, if i can, i like to be helpful, say that, i can make a sticky thread for a general vision, pro/cons of every x8 roms but someone need to start and take care of it because i don't have an X8.
let me know.

I really like racht's roms, there are less services running in background than others and is a pretty stable rom. I've been using it for weeks and i had no reboots. About the battery drain question, disable the automatic sinc in the options.
its only my opinion... already tried floyo, miniCM and froyobread....
1) floyo is fast but battery drain very fast..
2) the most stable is miniCM.. all is working and suitable for daily use
3) stable rom with gingerbread look...
try all of em yourself and pick what u like....
I believe I've tried all kind of ROMs: 2.2.1, 2.2.9 (?) and 2.3.4. For me kuyaDROID was the fastest and stable 2.3.4. But all 2.3.4 I have tried consumed my battery at most in a day (also kuya's). One version ate my battery in a half of day. So, for the moment, I decided to come back to 2.2.1 (floyo-0.20) which is the fastest (1000+), stable and battery care (more than two days) for me. An advice: you will see here different opinions for the same ROM - so try all for youself, and make your own opinion. Good luck.

You, sir, are an idiot. The title of your thread itself points out that there are already thousands of these threads asking for the best ROM, yet you decide against all common sense to create a new thread? Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.
I recommend either American Android or tytung GB rom for sd
I think magldr is good depends what u have on nand

always one arsehole.
and to walidhazem, thanks. the amount of roms available is shocking. and none of the other 'which rom' are about stock roms. going to be keeping winmo 6.5 as my nand rom.
This is a lot like asking whats your favorite food, your bound to get many different answers because what i/we like on our ROMs you may not. Every person has their own likes and dislikes about the ROMs they choose so without trying a few your only going by what someone else likes and not really what you may find that you like.
You could check out this site. It lists about every ROM (android) for our hd2 and gives some basic info you can use to help narrow down your search. I sometimes look at the developers signature or others i find give a lot of benifit to the site because i feel they would have a better knowledge on whats a good, stable ROM. Hope you find this helpful.

[Q] Need help deciding on ROM

I need help deciding which ROM to do with. Looking for a ROM with little to no bugs. I like the way Ice Creamed looks. but i notice that they are all in there Beta phases. If anyone knows a ICS with little bugs i'd like to try it, or a Gingerbread that they'd recommend would be great.
I don't know what to look for when choosing a ROM, as of right now I am just looking for looks, if there is things i should look out for i'd like to know
Also when i install a ROM do i need to install a new or specific Radio or Kernel?
Thank you in advance
Sense or Stock AOSP?
If you like Sense, check virtuous affinity or Android Revolution HD.
If you prefer AOSP, go for CyanogenMod 7.2. It's not a real "stable" build yet but it should be ok.
My best advice : get Titanium backup and try a couple :-D
Regards

Miui can be customized to look however you want with the built in theme browser, downloader, and installer and it is extremely stable.
Can't go wrong there.

What he said. All Roms on XDA are beta as they are hacked versions of official roms so no one will be able to tell you how each one will react on your device. I would just follow the way of XDA. Try it and see if it works. If not then try to figure out why or move to another.

[Q] Can anyone please help me here - Noob. <)

Hi, I'm a noob just bought a new Defy (my first Android device)
I know this will annoy most of you here, but I have been reading this forum for past few days but couldn't come to a conclusion. So thought of posting a new thead.
I have a Defy running on Eclair and wanted to upgrade to 2.3 or to some custom ROMS, but I got too much confused reading all about Stock ROMS, CM7, CM9, MIUI and other Custom ROMS.
I just want to upgrade my phone from 2.1 and I desire a ROM which will give me Great Performance and Good Battery Life.
Can anyone here be kind enough and give me a simple explanation of what should I do.
You can post a wacky caption as well.
Thank for any help.

Thanka for your time.

Don't have time to give instructions now, but DO NOT flash a full 2.3.6 sbf/upgrade to 2.3.6! Stay on froyo. It is possible to run all custom roms with this as base, also the newest 2.3.6 gingerbread ROMs. Someone please specify for the guy^^

Okay thanks mate for that info.
Currently i'm on Eclair so i think first of all i have to upgrade to froyo then i can think of going to cm7 and othet custom roms, right?
As you all would have played with lot of custom roms, can anyone suggest me which one should i go with?
Sent from my MB525 using XDA
It's really just a matter of taste. Here are some of the main categories of custom roms:
MIUI
CM7
Modified stock roms
CM9 and CM9 based ICS roms (that's ICS, android 4 . Not stable yet, maybe never 100% without unlocked bootloader )
There are many different flavours to choose from within most of these categories, but there are already a lot of threads about this. You need to read, read, read before you start flashing custom roms. Have you read the All-in-One Defy Beginner's guide? Every defy user should read it. Every single day a noob starts a new thread about a bricked defy: "please help me, my father will kill me if he finds out about my defy", etc, etc. These questions have ben answered 1,000,000 times already, so use the search function before posting!
By the way this thread should be moved to the Q&A section. Moderator will take care of that when it's reported...

At first, this thread was wrong section
by the way, I've been used HD2 Tmous for 2 years, over Froyo, GingerBread, ICS and JB too. But GingerBread Rom with Tytung Kernel is the best, Working smooth like a charm, everything working, bit game performance lower than Sense Rom. If you findding a daily use Rom, Nexus HD & Miui 2.3 was choiced
Miui Rom (happy to use this ever): Change Log | Download Link for HD2 | Tytung r16 Kernel (flash after rom installed - to updated some feature & speed)
Tytung 2.3 ROM AOSP [Nov. 10, 2012] NexusHD2-Gingerbread V3.3a
^^ that all

Inndinky.. i guess you havn't updated your ROM in a longgg time.. tytung ICS also works flawlessly.. JB is near to perfection with upcoming v1.3..
PACman 1.2a is also amazing if you want to have a lot more tweaking options then tytung's ROM..
The biggest PRO with tytung ROM over others is non-technical.. ie. his change logs and instructions are far more clear and precise then any other dev thread on XDA.. and i have seen a lot of those..:good:

No, you dont,[ i always try new roms, when it release, ICS seem to be work flawlessly, but how about low ram effecitve ? Battery Drain ? Call Volume not reconized the level you set before,Camera taking pictures in slow speed, HWA some time work and some time... i dont known, in this case we talk about a daily Rom, not try&tester.

Inndinky.. i never really experienced any of those issue but you could be correct.. as it had been long since i ditched GB as my first exp was with honeycomb and i opted ICS for its features over GB.. Battery drain is a problem but tweets can get you there.. camera i'll compare with GB.. thanks.. HWA and call Volume.. no problems yet.. still thanks i'll check out GB today..

First of all, nobody can answer this question. There is no 'best ROM' as this is completely subjective, i.e. it varies from user to user. As you can see, you've already received tonnes of different answers, because different things work for different people. In general, all of the ROMs which are regularly updated are great, so try any one out and see what works for you. Some general trends (remember it won't be the same for each ROM and these are based only on my opinion and experience) are:
1. GB is smoother and more stable for every day use than any other Android version
2. ICS is marginally faster than JB but doesn't have all of the features such as Google Now
3. Sense is slow
4. JB>ICS>GB for web browsing and gaming
5. I personally don't see the influence of 'Project Butter' in JB vs ICS.
6. MIUI and CM are about equal in terms of performance, there are advantages and disadvantages to both
7. Battery drain is consistently between 3 and 5 ma. I've had slightly better battery life on GB than on ICS or JB, but once again the difference isn't particularly noticeable. All ROMs should get through a day of usage without issues.
Search before posting
Yo!
I think the whole HD2 section is full with these question!
The search bar on top of the page is not an ad so use it!
There are many rom guides where every rom is posted on it, use it!
Best rom?
What about best report like said above, lol.
And hope anyone close this post.
Any really mate , just have a look threw them
cm or AndroPlus is my favourite
I installed like ICS, mokee or something like that and they are soo buggy and starting to get slow, I mean what did I do wrong I create 1Gb partition on EXT4 and install NativeSD trough 4ExT recovery. Can someone suggest me some stable and fast ROM with Sense 3.5 that doesn't have a lot of bugs or at all that would be cool, thanks.
I'm newb but I think each rom has it own bugs, I using this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1795608
