cant update through kies after de-branding

hi, i followed the guide in the dev section and debranded my phone from 3 u.k but when i plug into kies it still show 3 fw and says cannot update even though i changed the csc aswell. is there anyway to get kies to recognise it properly as i didnt really want to keep manually having to flash the lastest fw thats why i de-branded so kies would do it auto!
edit found the solution after 1 hr searching....... odin update only

Kies updates branded firmware with the correct product codes that match whats on the server not stock rom thats what i have always posted long long time .
Though some claim to have updated stock via Kies but if that was the norm we would not have the multitude of same posts and kies reg spoofing would not have been developed likewise Spoof FW
About forty personal tries with stock rom on SGS1 and 2 for me have always failed . Put back original rom always worked .

I have the same problem but I have fix it now, I just boot in recovery mode and wipe alle partition data, wipe alle date and factory , after that boot up in download mode and reflash in odin... and dont forget to delete kies in pc and delete samsung folders and usb driver before reinstall kies this work for me and kies reconize my phone and FW version now.

You did do a factory reset after changing to XEU csc didn't you?
I had no problems when I debranded my O2 handset a week ago - it's been recognised as a generic XEU handset ever since and I updated to KE7 via Kies.

Kies doesn´t show current firmware version

Hi,
I just installed kies today and got a message that my tab (p7510) has not an official firware and cannot be updated. I bought the tab in canada and live in germany.
Afterwards I used odin to flash xwkg7 (only pda, not bootloader).
Since then Kies does not show the current firmware anymore. The field is blank.
Any ideas how I can fix this?

I have the same problem.

I found the solution by myself.
I just flashed with odin "PDA". This caused that /system is overwritten, which is good. However, I did not install "CSC" which is usually also copied to /system. As a matter of fact, I didn´t have the csc stuff and this caused Kies to freak out.
Solution:
Use odin to flash PDA *and* CSC at the same time!
Never ever flash PDA alone, because then your csc files are gone.

However, now Kies tells me that I do not have an official firmware version on my tab and thus no updates through Kies are supported. Damn... Ideas?

well I was on omegarom 2.0 google edition. so because I have had trouble with omegarom 13.2 but had the standby signal loos problem so I downloaded from sammobile the OTA firmware I9505XXUEMJ7_I9505OXXEMJ8_NEE whitch should be the firmware for Denmark (Nordic) and installed it. got sound and all but no wifi. so I installed the modem XXUEMJ7 witch should be the correct modem for the OTA and got wifi and everything but now no sound.
problem is now that no mater what rom I put on and what modem I use I have no sound at all.

ok, I finally fixed it. Now I have been using odin since sgs2 and been using custom firmware since then and I still earn every day.
its every every importaint that if you wanna update baseband/formware and so on that instead of doing a reboot with usb cable attahed it will not work all the time. To make a 100% sure turn off phone, deattach cable, boot phone into download, use the up vol, attach cable and then use odin to update.
for some reason even with odin saying all good baseband will not update and the old baseband version will still be active. after doing this and using for the 20 time the stock firmware I got sound, wifi and LTE
hope this helps some people out there.

[Q] screen mirroring n9005 lollipop .not working

Hello. I'm having the problem after I upgraded with the leaked lollipop rom. I've instlled the official firmware ..and the same problem exists. After the first reboot screen mirror works,but when I restart a second time, it doesnt seem to work anymore. I have flashed the bootloader and the modem in odin mode, but nothing helps. Excuse my english.Thanx in advance.

Okey ..my problem still exists.I'll explain it once again. At first I've flashed the leaked lollipop rom with the pit file,and screen mirroring wasn't working. After this I've flashed the firmware from Poland and it said somthing about that I dont have enough space,than I flashed it with the pit file and everything worked fine ,exept for the screen mirroring. I have flash3d another versions of the newest firmware and the same thing . It works first when I flash it or I make a hard reset...but after a while its ggone. I have removed the micro sd card..the battery,I have tried almost everything. Someone with an idea??10x

Try custom Rom Like Omega, Alianc, Eco etc.

It's possible that you are having older bootloader (leaked one). Reflash the Poland firmware again and tell me if it works :highfive:

Did you Wipe data/factory reset your device?

Yes. And the battery for 10 minutes.

It seems that some backup from google acount was responsible for the strange behavior of screeen mirroring. Problem is solved .Sorry for bodering you guys.Bye

Trouble restoring stock FW on S4 (I9505)

Hi,
I'm having some trouble restoring the official FW on my old S4. The idea was that I wanted to give it to another family member, and would prefer to give them the stock FW rather than deal with whatever potential issues a custom FW offers (don't get me wrong, custom FW tend to be awesome, but I hope you get the picture).
I downloaded the latest, official FW for this phone and proceeded to try and flash it using Odin (MD5 file specified as PDA). Alas, this got stuck on flashing BOOT. So I tried to hook up the USB cable to a different USB port (I was using a hub before) and that went through BOOT, but failed with a write error later d.wn the line. This, alas, has been my experience thus far. I've tried other Odin versions and another FW version, all failing with the write error.
I've even tried to use KIES to restore, but now KIES fails to recognize the phone at all (neither normally, nor in the recovery mode as the phone suggests, nor can I "initialize" the phone, as apparently the GT-I9505 does not support it).
I do feel not all is lost, as I can get into the download mode without issues, but I'm unsure how to proceed. Please help.

OK, I think I got it.
It turns out my USB cable was sh*t. With a new USB cable it works fine.
