i have read different solutions about wlan problem and defy+, but my problem seems to be different. i have defy+ with jordan cm7 rom and a wrt54gl router. wlan connection fails after few mb of download, when security is wpa2. when i change to wep, it works perfectly...but i don´t want wep on my router...do you have any ideas ? i changed to static ip already ...problem still there.

Ive recently upgraded to Pugs patched software (from O2 )and all is very good however.
I used to be able to connect to loads of wifi spots ( some public some private ) but now nearly all tell me I dont have a certificate !!
Is this just me( and how it should be ?) or is there some setting I didnt put in the XDA11i after the patch that it had with the original O2 ??
Any ideas ? I know I shouldnt be connecting to private wifi but Im sure weve all done it at some time .eh !
PS read a thread that recommended hitchhiker and will try that next week .

So you flashed back to original ROM and this problem still exist?

yes i have tried onyx,vadyariks n topix 1.2 .. but my rpob is different from d person in dat thread .. i juz cant connect to my home network n cant detect it also .. oder networks r working fine ...
Ha, that should be your router issue.
What router are you using?
and what security system are you using (wpa, wep .. )
linksys(wrt54g) is my router n d secuirity is totaly disabled....

Totally no issues, why not you try putting at least a WEP password there?
Or if you dont mind, try flashing your router and use other software instead of the crappy linksys firmware.

I can´t connect with my wifi network with any tested nand rom (hastarin and Mdeejay kernels) The problem is that the only network that I can´t see is my home network, I can see other networks but mine is "invisible" but in the router, the SSID is visible.
Can someboy hlep me?

I am having the same issue with DFT stock rom.
Possible solution for me was to change the security from wpa2+aes to wpa+tkip;
le : a moderator should move this thread to another section.
i had this problem too but i reset my router, changed the encryption to open and it worked. Then changed back to wpa2 aes and it`s still working
Did you check if your mac adress had changed ??

I have Wi-Fi issue with this ROM too. Entered WEPKEY but it keep saying "Obtaining IP address from xxxxxxx(network name)". Then Wi-Fi disconnect for a second and reconnect and repeat same process.
Any help?
You can try static IP for it.
I don't have this issue on my Phone but I will check and fix it on next version

THERE'S NO PROBLEM WITH WIFI
its all about what u do when u first install the rom............
when uve flashed the rom,let it boot,when set up wizard appears,DO NOT SETUP GOOGLE ACCOUNTS OR WIFI.......NOTHING,keep on clickin NEXT,NEXT,NEXT,when it goes to ur home screen,reboot,this time,set up google accounts and wifi etc,THEN REBOOT.................should work perfectly then

That's weird, WiFi is working fine on my TmoUS, but I still cannot use the wifi tether, the one provided in the ROM (third party) activates the wifi but gives me a limited connectivity on my laptop!
There are no LAN settings as such, can anyone help me out with that?

With static IP, the HD2 connect with the router, but it can not connect to INET.
I tested different kernel. without success ...

So my Wifi problem is solved.
It was because of my Powerlan. This is connected between my router. A firmware update solved the problem.
Many thanks to all involved users.
Perhaps this Information knowledge will help one or the other users.
BtW: It was not a general problem, only with newer ROMs

I had a Wi-Fi problem with version 6.0SE. Then I removed it and flashed version 6.0 regular edition and Wi-Fi problem solved. So far I love this ROM (thanks 'langthang'). I haven't try newer version yet but definitely will try when it's stable because HD2 is my everyday phone.
No one can confirm the working wifi tether?
im now using v7 and also had wifi issue and bluetooth wouldnt start. I changed kernal to Rafpigna 2.0 OCGB (links on the op for v7) and can confirm all now works like a dream making v7 very stable and useable rom
I think i discover a new bug in this rom , it`s in wifi i can`t see or connect to connectify network only in this rom , i can see it and connect to it with other devices and wifi adapters !!!!! Can someone confirm this bug?
Wifi is working fine with me (Router wifi work) , but there is different type of wifi(ad-hoc) u need to use connectify program on windows or make a virtual wifi and share the internet to it. then connect from phone to the virtual wifi , and it`s not regional bug it was working with me in Nexushd2 4.1 JB 1.4a
