Are you trying to flash a ROM in recovery or in the clockwork mod app?

How to access sd card from ClockworkMod Recovery Mode

I am trying to apply a morph that i saved to my SD card, but when i go to the sd/ location i get the error no files found?
any ideas?
Thanks.
You mean /sdcard? If it's a morph, you don't install from recovery, you install with the Metamorph app in the market.
Yeah man, no need to be in recovery.
And with that said (unrelated), in clockwork recovery you can only install .zip files on /sdcard (internal), not /sdcard/sd (external).
my sd card is listed as /sd.
but anyway how come we cannot access the external sd card?
Also, i want to restore a nandroid backup it HAS to be on the internal memory?

These Morphs are for the battery and specifically state to be installed in clockworkmod recovery.

There is no /sd, not on a stock phone. What have you done to it?
You can access the external SD, you just have to do some manual stuff first. Kosh hasn't seen a reason to include it in the ramdisk for Clockwork, but you can mount it if you know how.
To restore a nandroid, yes, it has to be on internal. Unless you use an adb shell and run the script yourself anyway.

Then they are not morphs. Around here, "morph" means you install via MetaMorph.
Are you talking about the battery % mods in the themes and apps forum? Yes, you can install those in recovery. Download them and use ROM Manager in your booted phone. Select "Install ROM" and navigate to where it downloaded, the default is /sdcard/download. Select the ZIP and tell it it's OK to reboot and install it.

[Q]Update fixed Clockworkmod isn't working

Update fixed the SD was broken I don't exactly know why but it explains everything so thanks for all your help and sorry for not being very
clear.
Hi I'm having issues with clockworkmod.
See the problem is while trying to flash cyanogen mod I was getting the endless loop so I kept
at it until I managed to flash it. The problem is I flashed Cm6.1.0 so easy fix right? Well I thought so too until clockworkmod wouldn't find the zip. So I tried nandroid and it again couldn't find any zip so I checked the partitions menu and clockworkmod had mounted the
Sd card and the cache. So I unmounted both and still nothing so I looked at the setting's again and it remounts the cache and sometimes the Sd card. Well my problem is worsened by
the fact that the version of cyanogen mod that did flash doesn't have the market or flash.
Any help will be welcome. HTC aria.

With CM 6, the Market is in the GoogleApps zip which must be installed after the ROM.
Also Flash 10.x does not run on the Aria; the CPU is not supported by Adobe.
Well clockworkmod won't find any zip not even nandroid and so my problem deepens so now can't get the market crap.

Some of your terminology in your post is very confusing. First of all, ClockworkMod will only find ZIP files that are copied to the root directory of your SD card. If you copied them to a folder on your SD card, CWM will not find them.
Second, Nandroid is a backup and restore utility and it does not use ZIP files. It creates backup folders on the SD card under /clockworkmod/backup and contains image files of the various partitions on your phone.
So what is the exact state of your phone? You stated that you have flashed CM 6.1? If you boot your phone normally, does CM 6 start up and are you able to use your phone? In order to install gapps.zip file to get the Market app, copy the gapps.zip file to the root of your SD card and see if ClockworkMod can install it. BTW, in CWM you are select "install zip from sdcard" and then "choose zip from sdcard", right?

Thanks for correcting my misinformation. I guess the root location only applies to "update.zip", right?
Yup. And it actually must be named "update.zip"
Oh crap I just formated the boot partition and now my phone won't boot at all!
It still won't find any zip. What now? Is there any way to restore clockworkmod?

Are you copying the zip files from your PC to the sd card? Have you tried downloading a ROM zip file directly to your SD card using your phone's browser?
I have exactly the same problem...Clockwork will not see any .zip files....even tried mounting usb storage from cwm, it mounts and the zips are there, yet it can not find any of them when i try to find them (all are in the root of the sdcard)...any ideas?
So if you pick "choose zip from SD" you can't manually pick a zip?
Sent from my Liberty using XDA App
Found a solution:
1. Get SD card formatter from HERE
2. Plugin your phone (as USB drive), start up the application and format the card (default options selected) NOTE: backup your SD card to your PC first (obviously)
3. Unplug the phone (or put it into charge mod, whatever)
4. The phone should now try (and fail) to mount the card...go to the SD options and format the card using the phone function
The .zip files should now be visible in ClockworkMod Recovery (it worked for me and a few others as far as i know)

Aver recovery installer installs cwm, and allows you to go back to stock recovery system instead of cwm as well.
Ok that explains but where I can find cwm folder with saved image.

[Q] Mirage-Kang theme installation

Noob question.
I d/l the theme from MiRaGe - KANG build of CyanogenMod
- transparency theme with circular battery indicator for 01262012 build. MD5sum: 6bc8eb898c39a303189d335b8d015afe Flash this theme after booting once with the new ROM.
but don't know how to install this theme. I unzip the files and copy it to a new directory on the uSD card. I tried using Astro file manager and locate the APK files but no option to install.
Can any1 point me in the right direction?
Thanks.
don't unzip the file.
Use clockwork mod recovery and install the zip file.
1. Boot into recovery.
2. Choose install zip from sd card
3. Navigate to where the zip was downloaded.
4. Select zip file
5. Confirm and install.
6. Reboot nook.

I don't see Clockwork mod recovery anywhere on the NC. I did reboot into recovery mode but there is no option to choose install zip... the NC went straight into auto shutdown. What am I doing wrong? BTW, I'm running from my uSD. I saw another post saying that Clockwork mod doesn't work if running from uSD. Is that correct? If so what is my option to install the theme.
Thanks.
I hope someone else can help you. I run this from from emmc not SD card. You might check the thread in the development section about running this from from SD.

Do you still have the original bootable uSD you rooted and installed CM from? If so, you can boot off that uSD directly into CWM. That's how I just installed CM9. I set up the bootable on an old 1GB that I always keep as an emergency back up.

I think this person is trying to run cm9 from an SD card, which requires another method. Cm9 is not installed on emmc.

Thank you all for the inputs. I will look into loading CM7 onto the eMMC instead of SD.
Dont know if I should of stated my own thread but here is my question: How do I remove the theme if I dont like it?
Before installing on emmc, I would try dropping the zip on the card in boot and then boot into recovery and see if it works. Then check theme changer.

I tried and it doesn't work. The Clockwork Mod doesn't work with SD install. I did the eMMC install and everything works fine now. My NC is out of warranty so I'm not worry about the stock image but I did back it up with Clockwork Mod just in case. Again thanks every1 for the inputs.

no,i have android with sense 2.1 on SD card and i wanna to install sense 3 lockscreen and i need to install it via CWM but when i click reboot into ClockWork recovery mod when i do it phone restart and boot windows mobile and when i boot android again nothing happens
You cant use cwm in sd roms. The only thing you can do is to unzip the cwm file you want to use.Inside you will find a folder called meta-inf and some other folders called /system and other
In the folder you have sd rom you will make a folder named Root and inside it,you will copy the folders from cwm zip and then restart rom.
