I keep getting this text and in the beginning it asked me if I wanted to ever receive these and I selected yes but I am getting the same one back to back every other hour and its getting annoying. How do I turn it off?

If you turn it off, you won't know what time on the 21st the world will end..

So yeah, was just using my N7 about 30 minutes ago. Just picked it up and the screen won't come on. Happened earlier this week too.
The weird thing is, my computer still recognizes it (obviously the tablet is still on) but ADB doesn't seem to notice it. Any ideas?
It was connected on computer or power?

Neither it was just sitting on my desk. Just got it to reboot after 10+ times. Really wanna know what's going on, because it's annoying as hell.
I recall seeing another thread about this. Disable auto-brightness. Your screen is on, just that the brightness is turned down completely.

Hmm, turning auto brightness off. Let's see if that'll work. Thanks for the help.
Hey guys
Long time Galaxy Nexus / Galaxy Note 2 user here.
One of my fave apps was the PGM because it allowed control of the phone without hitting the unlock button to unlock it.
I know the dev (who lives in Poland) hasnt gotten an N4 yet, so he hasnt been able to write the kernel tweak yet.
Anyody found any options?
I have been using the app Sleep Tweak. What it does is if you get a text it wakes the phone but doesn't turn on the screen. If you pick the phone up within X seconds after receiving a text the screen turns on. Same with if the phone times out by itself if you pick it up within X seconds it will turn the screen back on. Not the same I know but it lets me decide whether I want the screen to turn on for a text or something.

No answer for you, but a question..
Wouldn't something like PGM (Nexus) drain the battery? As it would require the screen to be "on" to detect any type of touch from the user?

The battery drain was very minimal on my gnex when i was using it, maybe 5% tops.

No,
Snce it's written into the kernel itself the device still deep sleeps and so the effects on battery are minimal.

I mean, that's not bad at all, but man I wish I had 2 N4's I could ship this guy, so we could finally get that.
No lie, it's the ONE app I NEED on a device

5%? No. It's way less than that. When I use it it feels like it has absolutely no impact on battery life because it's a kernel module.

I'm rooted running stock with no mods flashed and I'm not sure why but sometime over the past few days my brightness adjuster has disappeared from my notifications. I enjoyed having it there and if it's just a setting I've hit that's be awesome. Otherwise I might just flash a rom to fix it.

You can see if it is turned on.
Click on settings
My Device
Display
Notification Panel
Then click Brightness Adjustment
If it unchecked that is why you don't see it. Unfortunately I have no clue why it turns off if you are not doing it.

Thanks lol. I looked for a setting but evidently I didn't try hard enough.
No problem, Samsung had to move all the settings around in 4.2, making it harder for everyone

It disapears when your battery hits 5%
Comes back when you are at 6% or higher

please help *my brightness adjuster has disappeared,
I have it enabled in the settings
Yeah mine has disappeared too, this is the second time I reset my phone once and it came back now it has happened again. No one seems to know why...
Night Mode
If you have the app Night Mode. Turn it on (start) then turn it off (stop). The slider should appear again, as long as you have it checked in the settings.
Hi guys,
Yesterday I found some big problems with my nexus 4 so I did a refactory to the phone.
After everything setup. I began to use it as usual. However I found something weird as before which is after I switch on the display, it will always takes a while for the mobile network signal's colour to change from grey to blue.
Which means I can't receive any push notification during the grey colour period until the colour change to blue. Also I can't receive any push notification when the display is off.
Can you guys have any idea? Thanks
Anyone can tell me? Thanks
Just means it's not synced to Google. After that does it turn blue?

Yes, it will take a while to connect to Google (from grey to blue)
Which means I can't receive any google push notifications such as email and hangout when the display is off.
After I turned on display, wait a while when it changes to blue, a number of notifications come out.
Any idea?

Thanks. It's really weird.
Since I got my Note 3, I've been using S-Voice to do things like turn Wifi on and off by voice. But since I've been using it, it randomly get triggered. I left Hi Galaxy as the default phrase. Not sure why it's doing this. Any idea why it's doing that?

If you find s voice comes on randomly check your location services and that car mode isnt enabled to come on with a certain action or location. It was happening to my wifes when she hit a wifi point at home it would come on automatically but turing of location services for car mode to her wifi spot fixed it up!
I did disable the 'wifi location' and it worked
