Why i can not get google play - Nook Color Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Samung P3113, a rooted Nook color with CM10 JB 4.1.2 and a Samung Galaxy Skyrocket phone.
On the phone Skyrocket I get this screen when I hit the google play icon, the one that shows at the right corner Google Play
Then, with my Nook and Samsung P3113 i get this screen, the one that at the right corner only shows Apps.
How do I get the Google play screen on my Nook and Samsung Tablet p3113??

That is the google play screen for tablets... you can scroll right or left to see other screens... see how it shows it is under feature apps... if you scroll right you scroll right it will go to recommended to you... if you scroll screen left it will go to top paid... if you click the arrow on the top it will go to your apps list on the play store.

Thanks. I tried that already, but I do not see the options for books, music, movies, etc.

Did you use GApps 20121011 version? This is for JB 4.1x. The newer versions are for 4.2.

You can reflash the GApps 20121011 zip file using CWM and install zip from SD card. You may have a bad download. Redownload and reflash.
Edit: Your soft key back button cannot return you to the Google Play page?

some apps will not install on my Nexus S

Hi I've had my Nexus S for a week now and by and large am very happy with it.
Recently I noticed that some apps from the market will not install after downloading, for example, the Pubtran London app.
the app always shows it's being currently downloaded, and when I check the About tab, it says that 100% has been downloaded, but it will not launch into install.
There are quite few apps which I tried to install but also had this problem. I would be grateful if anyone has experience the same issue and has advice to resolve this problem. thanks!
Not all apps are compatible with Gingerbread.
PS Ignore the fact that I thanked you. I clicked the wrong button
hi thank you.
seems then have to wait to the apps to be updated.
even the xda app does not work on nexus S!
I have just found a work-around for this problem.
everytime an app would not install, I just go into manage apps and clear the Market cache. Once the cache is cleared, app can be installed with no problem.

I'm having this problem too.
I don't think it's compatibility issues, clearing cache and force stopping the Market sometimes works, but it seems the next time I use the Market, one of my apps wont update until I do this again.
Any ideas?

The problem isn't unique to the Nexus S for me. My SGS i9000 (DocRamboned) has similar issue, especially with updates...lots fo them stall on the download, or download and fail on the install.
Perhaps there's some issue on the mothership's side of the market.

Thanks, I'll try that.
if you don't know which Google sync is causing the problems go into accounts sync turn off all the snyc with your account and turn then on one by one, you'll get the error when you go to sync on of the Google apps, for me it was a problem with my bookmarks sync with chrome once I had sync chrome on my desktop to my Google account the problem stopped on the tablet
I tried a bunch of different things. Error kept coming back.. I gave up and took it back to best buy to get a new tablet. I didn't feel like installing a rom from xda when it should have worked in the first place. Installed the updates on the new tablet and everything is working.
Thanks for your help

4.2 Play Store Bug?

I have disabled Auto-Add Shortcuts in the Play Store settings but it seems to still keep adding them to my home screen every time I download an app. Have only noticed this behaviour since I started using 4.2. Thanks for your help.

Kit Kat Launcher + Note 3

Is anyone using this combo yet?
I have it installed, however, I am quite annoyed. When I hit the home button back to the home screen of the Kit Kat Launcher, the keyboard pops up. It's basically seeing google now "listening" on the homescreen and thinking that I want to type in it right away.
It would be the same function as if I hit a search button, the keyboard pops right away.
any help would be awesomeeeeeee!

Initially, Google Search kept crashing, even after trying the languages trick. Using the lib file recommended by @docnok63 worked perfectly. Saying, "Ok Google" from the any of your Homescreens or Google Now activates voice search. All search queries performed were successful and crash free.
(Rename the original to libgoogle_recognizer_jni_l.so.bak before copying.)
libgoogle_recognizer_jni_l.so (Tested, confirmed working! )

Anyone successfully get the 4.4 GoogleTTS working from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2506623
It installed fine, but force closes on me when I select it.
The .zip file method never worked for me, so I was hoping that this .apk method might have better luck
[FWIW, .zip method located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2472959&page=7]

[Q] Download booster Bell Canada

Does anyone else on bell have their download booster working? Mine enables and shows the symbol but it doesnt actually work. Even when downloading a 1.3 gb file. On bell's website it shows how to enable it so I cant see them disabling it. Can anyone give me some insight?
How are you downloading the file? From my testing at least, it only works on files from the play store, chrome, or the stock browser, and of course the file needs to be over 30 MB. I may be incorrect though, there may be ways to make it work with everything, havent seen something for that though.

Like i said, utorrent will not works, on play store stock browser and chrome. When you downloaded it where you on WiFi and also in an area with 4G? Also when you downloaded the app did a dialog appear asking if you wanted to download over wifi only or anything like that?

Yes, lte is 4g, but were you also on wifi? The dialogue should say "you shiuld download this on wifi/only on wifi" either make sure you arent setting something to only use wifi to download, also make sure by chance download booster is actually on.

So it turns out I was selecting the "download via WIFI only option" from that pop up. I tried it again by selecting cancel and the download booster worked.
Thanks
