first of all i want to say sorry if the thread already exist.
hi, i have a problem, when i use cwm to make a recovery of my rom, everything goes ok, and the backup is created at cwm\backup.
the problem is if i dont move the backup from the folder it is created by default, i can restore without any problem, but if i move the backup folder (which contains 5 files) to any other folder like my pc etc, and then i move back again to the original folder, if i try to restore the old rom using the recovery it just says " no recovery files found"
that only happens when i move the backup folder to any other folder, but if i dont move the backup to other folder i can restore normally.
sorry for my very bad english, hope you can help me.
(im using galaxy young and my problem happens no matter what rom i use)
The cwm backup is stored in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/folder(folder containing 5 files)
Be sure that this path is maintained...
Otherwise cwm won't detect the backup..
Hit thanks if helped...

nandroid backups must be placed on sd card in /clockworkmod/backup/
also note that there must be a sub-directory within /clockworkmod/backup that contains the nandroid files
such as: /clockworkmod/backup/my_nandroid/ <--- your nandroid files go in here
thanks alot zyxwvut
No problem I hope you got it all sorted.
Ya know, without these threads I would've been stuck with an expensive paper-weight a long time ago. It's all about being a community and helping each other. Thats what we try to do here

I'm having an error too, try to do this but still get the error when trying to install the nandroid backup.
Here is what i did:
I place the zip file on sd card in /clockworkmod/backup/
also I unzip the file and place the files under: /clockworkmod/backup/my_nandroid
after trying to instal the zip i get this error: "E:Error in /system/bootmenu/script/recovery.sh
(Result: No such file or directory)"
I guess I'm either doing something wrong or the zip file is missing something!
im having the same here
cant run nandroid/flash rom/factor reset via cwm
I have CWM installed and have been able to flash roms in the past. But now, when ever i try to flash a rom, run a nandroid backup, or a factory reset… it just basically wipes out my user info. Goes back to stock with all of my applications still loaded so i get bazillion force closes. I have verified my nandroid and it is good… i just cant get cwm to load it. Any ideas? thx in advance!

Please ask all questions in the Q&A section. Thread moved there.
There is no better ROM
Actualy, we should try both CM7 and CM10 and choose what to use, I've chosen CM7 because I've had problem with 3G connection on CM10, it's slow and I cound't actvate wifi tether without doing a workaround.

I wrote U that U must REPLACE these files by files from OPEN ROM not only delete...
Now U have to find a CWM install pack with these files...

First, U must find 2 files on forum, google or where U want, this file must be from OPEN ROM thats mean these are clean, non modification inside.
Put this 2 files to sdcard in your device.
Now U must replace these 2 files using root explorer, copy- from sd card, paste to system/framework, ofcourse before paste U have to tap on button mount r/w.
Thats all to do.

let's go to the basics
first make sure to flash your back up based on the cwm used to back it up in the first place
second check if your back up is placed in the clockworkmod folder and has no spaces
if the above fails then flash the stock firmware of your back up then restore your back up
ex:
your back up was based on DXKL2, so to match the md5 flash DXKL2 and restore your back up
ps: worked for me
Try using Cwm by madteam..

can u open .md5 file n tell wats in it?
the most posible reason behind these problem is because the backup was not succes or there was problem with the sdcard. try to reformat your sdcard in your computer without using quick format option. after that try to make a backup and restore.
good way

@marcussmith2626: Dude, its only hard for noobs.
@abhishekr700: I can't help you when you choose to be a noob. You can follow marcussmith2626 if you want to restore your backup files.
If you don't need to restore or if you have not created a backup, then download stock ROM for your phone and flash it with odin.
There are lots of tutorials to flash it with odin. So don't ask me how to do so.
Press thanks if I helped you.

you can try this:
look in the theme for which files it have and then choose this files but from your current romzip or themezip what you used before you flashed the theme and replace it with the ones you didnt need on your phone, when you didnt have some files than its your fail, because a NANDROID BACKUP is allways recomned before doing changes in anyway
Recommend
Only odex version of the stock rom produce these kind of force close problems.
Try to flash deodexed stock rom. It will solve all the force close issues.
But the only problem is that it occupies more memory.
You can even extend your internal storage either by partitioning the sd-card or by swapping method.
Feel free to PM me if the problem doesn't get solved.
Press thanks if I have helped you.

Hi,
You can try with Philz Recovery instead of CWMRecovery.
You can also try to open your backup file on PC to see if there is some files inside
