[Q] Overclocking! (Help)

Hi guys, i want to overclock my Galaxy Y Gt 5360! rigth now i am using Hyperion GM final i do a overclock to 900 mhz but not work! i use a tutorial from youtube! and flash a zip i foloow all steps and dosent work!
the last time i use Jelly blast V3..0.4 i overclock using merruk to 1.2 mhz but the phone boot (turn off and turn on) alot every 5 minutes! so i dont want use merruk! i heard about 1 mhz using odin
so guys what you recommend to me!
(im from Costa Rica so excuse my horrible english!)

Anyways u are not going to feel any major difference is just that your phone will now not lag at a possibility point when it would have b4 etc or try something more demanding and see what happens

There is no need for overclocking cause 832mhz processor is enough for galaxy y to perform smoothly.... its the ram is should be concerned about
And also the internal mem
So if u want to make ur apps perform better they should be in internal..... so just start linking to SD .. apps will run faster

Want to share this problem and the answer of this critical problem

I want to share this critical problem... Did anyone experience your phone swim on the water if yes this is the first you need to do if you or accidentally drop your phone in water turn off your phone pull the battery and sim card and the memory get some screw open it and get some blower...... Do not turn on your phone in 5hours.... And this is my other problem ill wait 5hours then ill open when i open my phone he's not goin to boot logo and it stuck i'll try use odin but my phone is not detected i dont know why ill try to format all data/cache and system but its not open then i get some solution i install some custom rom the custom rom is base on stock rom.... then ill reboot it and dang ita boot up.. now this problem is done...
if u experience this problem.... don't be so shy... do that... guys thats must be a helpull tips

To Help Dry Out A Phone Dropped Into Water - Try This
Hello Everyone;
To dry out a phone that has been dropped into water try this method. It really worked for me.
1.) First pull the battery, don't be too concerned about the SIM, since SIM cards and SIM chips can generally handle water but do remove the memory card.
2.)Turn the phone upside down with the back left off of it and let it sit for 2 to 3 days so excess water will run off of it. Do NOT disturb the phone, just let it sit upside down with the back off of it and do not touch it for that 2 to 3 days
3.) After it sits for that 2 to 3 days, get an empty bowl wide enough to contain your phone and place about 4 to 5 inches deep of uncooked rice in this bowl.(I have been sucessful using white rice , but you can try brown or even wild rice)
4.) Carefully place your phone (with the back off) face-up, on top of the bowl of uncooked rice and seal this bowl with either a plastic bag or plastic wrap so that no air escapes from it. The back of the phone without the back cover faces towards the rice.
5.) Let it sit in that bowl of rice at least 2 weeks http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/frown.gif (Long time I know but you just might save your phone from permanent damage)
6.) Your wait time varies so be patient. When you feel confident that all the moisture has been absorbed by the rice then get your phone and try it out.http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/good.gif

A blower should be fine, and it's not the heat you're worried about, it's the static electricity, but it should be fine as the circuit boards will not come in contact with the blow dryer while drying, also the rice thing is a waste of time, it's just a waste of food.

Am bouncy no offense but u are wrong though static electricity does also damage ur phone channeling hot air directly into ur phone also does and with regards to the rice u couldn't be more wrong rice is uncooked rice is verrrrrry absorbent i place ur phone in it literally sucks the water out

According to me, I.have heard that putting the phone in rice is the best option for getting your phone dry.
rather than putting it in front of blower or anything else

Guys we don't need to post that kind of words we don't have same option I share the things the way I fix my phone... I'm confuse because I fix every phone and I always use blower for phone but nothing happen... so guys if u have other option post here we don't need to fight or saying each other a not good words I want to help not to broke a phone.....

[Q] Sound Breaks after turning screen off while Music Player is on

Hello Guys, Whenever I turn screen off when any Music Player is running, the sound kind of breaks or gets distorted, but works ok after I Turn the screen back on.
This is quite annoying as I cannot enjoy to Music anymore. I don't know why is this happening, I happened to install Avast Antivirus app some days ago, I think it might be the victim.
Well, I have uninstalled Avast, but the sound problem is same. I dont want want to Reset my phone because of apps and settings and all. Please Help me

change cpu i/o schedular and governer to something else thats the problem of cpu cnfiguration...

Ok Guys, I couldn't take it anymore so I Reset my phone and now sound is ok and working as it should. Thanks to all, I have pressed thanks to all of your answers :good:

which sound player are you using??? i had the same problem when i was using n7 pro....
i think it is because of some kind of high ram usage... this happens with me now too on dianxin os rom with all the beats settings set to full regardless of the equalizer settings....
try using the stock music player or powerAMP... good luck!!!

No bro, I dont think High RAM usage was problem, Im very sure avast antivirus messed up my ROM, anyways now I have Reset my ROM and now I'm using PlayerPro.

Avast can't mess ur rom untill u dont grant him root permission nd it doesnt even ask for it..
So avast created this problem..

I believe either it was high ram usage or the deep sleep mode that created a problem..
Did u install no frills or checked ur ram .
** rooting is new for me,
nd i am a noob to root....**

Actually it did asked me root permissions for Anti theft feature and then it did some changes like downloading somethings.!

I suggest u to write an email to the creator of this app nd report this thing...
Atleast others will not suffer from this

Galaxy y hardware

Hi friends..i actually had a question in mind but have made this thread just for the motive of discussion.
My question is a simple yet serious one Why do you guys think that Samsung added POTENTIALLY strong hardware in our phones at this price range..like our cpu and gpu are quite capable of beating the pulp out of many phones in the higher price range! Also a few days back i saw a thread with one of our fellow members bringing forth the fact that our wifi chipset is also quite advance compared to what we are seeing..so basically wanted to know your opinions..

well Galaxy Y is made for low price range and Samsung Limited the power of hardware's inside our Y.
From what I think its possible in the future we can able to unlock the full potential of our phones because our GPU is based on VideoCore IV which they are able to play HD but samsung and broadcom limited it. hopefully soon we are able to see our SGY playing heavy games and HD videos in future

yes..i know..but i've read most of the comments on the madteam development forum where someone(dont remember) had stated that our device is an ldpi device and having HD stuff will not affect the visuals as such(as per what i interpreted)

What he means is that it screen resolution is only 240x320 so we cannot show anything over that resolution

yes i did..and that made me ask this question..
lol.. I seriously regret having bought the phone..should have gone with some other one!!! but since i will be having this device for long i can just hope and wish the devs all the best!!

Aha! thats my point too..whats the use of the "HD" chipset when we cant utilise it to its full!!??

Its has some tweaks made by brodcom
I was really surprised to see just how super smooth it was
My friend has ace with cm10 even he was shocked see such performance along with great battery life
Too bad I am buying xperia p after my exams are over but I will always have my sgy
My first smartphone.. thought me soo many stuff
really enjoyed using it

you already said it. there are lot of emulators thats why i just want to know which one of them is the best for galaxy y, because some emulators are laggy.
just give one to make conversation over.
i dont have time to try it all now

Dude that's no wat he meant
There are so many kinds of emulaters eg terminal emulator is used to run terminal on android phone
Then there are emulators to run games etc etc ... what exactly do u want??
And I am sure whatever u want is serchable
An if u ask which emulator or any other thing is the best kind of post
No one is gona give u one specific name
U will again have to choose from them just like u choose from results
So try them by yourself and decede which is best
Everyone has a different openion... the need not be common
