While on the stock ROM the defy the touch did run properly and after rooting initially it worked fine.but now it is giving problems.
Points on touch click automatically.
while typing on the keyborad sometimes without doing anything the keys starts pressing on own.
While playing games sometimes i face the problem.
so conclusion the touch is giving wierd problems when the above problems are faced i need to turn off the screen(not turn off the phone) and turn it on again to make things work properly.
I have used CM9 and WIUI v4 ROMS and both giving the same problem.
Is it a problem with the ROM or something wrong with hardware.
Is there anything to solve this problem...

I am also faced this issue during rainy season. But now it works perfectly. Lightly Heating the front screen using hairdrier was solved it for few days or few weeks.
But last 3 months i am not faced this issue becouse atmospheric temperature arround 35 to 40 now! !!

Does the kernal act different on different Hd2's???
Whenever i use N1 kernal i have this Touch screen freeze and Gsensor problem, it's like this, it works perfectly fine, all of a sudden touchscreen freezes for say 10 secs and at that time Gsensor stops working and again goes back to normal...
With EVO Kernal.. i still got this issue but at a level which is not usually notable, which becomes an issue only while playing games, but still issue persists for sure.
My question here is, many in this forum say they have 100% Gsensor working, how is that possible i have tried many Wm Roms and radio rom combination, i just couldn't get rid of the above problems, in that case how come some of them alone have 100% working android builds?
So does the kernal work best in one HD2 and bad in another.. is it even a valid conclusion?? or the ones who say 100% working are just bluffing or they did not test it properly??
i just wanted to confirm that the Gsensor and touchscreen bug is universal and not in specific phones,.. help me sort out this issue ...
Also it would be helpfull if any of the kernal developers confirm whether it's a known issue or it's only my device .. most of the cooks mention Gsensor and touchscreen as WORKING...
IF somebody know the inverse option on photoshop when black comes as white and same for all colors it happens to my hd2 after a while when I unlock is cuz I press harder on it or is a soft problem?
I've seen a few people reporting this, luckily haven't experienced it myself. Nobody seems to have figured the cause as yet, but a reboot solves the issue (until the next time of course).
I had inverted colours recently. Was weird... I was on the phone when it dialed another number (possibly i did it with my cheek cos i'd been switching back and forth from keypad and loudspeaker settings). When i hung up my phone went strange with the 'inverted' look.
I'd love to know why because it's the only stability issue I have now.

This happened to me as well. I had to give it a restart. It happened after I waked the phone from screen off. It would be nice to find a fix for this.

Haven't tried it myself, but they say taking a screenshot creates a normal looking one.
So I'm afraid it is a sign of hardware fail. The bad thing is my phone is barely 2-3 months old.
edi: could you all please post the kernel you have. From what I've read, it seems an MDJ kernel problem. I used MDJ 0.2oc
I had this a few times before Xmas on one of Darkstones SD builds, only did it 4 or 5 times though. Taking a screenshot didn't work, just got a normal screen.
Since using NAND builds I've not come across this problem once, so I'm guessing the problem is Software/Kernel related rather than Hardware, which should come as a relief.

I am using prj Clean Desire v0.3.2 (NAND) [Kernel: prj v0.4] and am getting the same issue, unlock the phone and everything is inverted but taking a screenshot with drocap2 comes out perfectly normal. It is happening every few days now.
I am going to try a different ROM and see if it still occurs.
Never had inverted colors in WinMo, with first Android SD releases I've had that problem quite often. But since flashed NAND Android 45 days ago haven't seen any inverted colors yet.

I get this error occasionly on hyperdroid 2.1.0 but it happened to me again today.... its also happened on miui. No one found a solution or cause?
I have had this on various occasions and there i various topics on it but with no resolution of any answer as to possible cause.
i'm running on a darkside prefinal rom for about a month.
suddenly the soft stopped responding(don't work at all), and the screen sometimes think i'm touching it when the phone lays on the table far from me.
i think i should mention that before the darkside i had a gingerbread at&t stock rom and after that a cm7 nightly rom.
i read on the internet and even in this forum that i need to run a pds fix.
i tried that it fixed the phone for about day or two and then everything went wrong again.
i returned to the store where i bought the phone. they burned me a at&t original stock rom. that fixed the problem for two hours at most.
i wanted to know if someone knows how to fix it or did anyone encounter this problem.

U8800 X5 having random clicks once it loads completely.
like when i start the phone the phone boots up all fine
home screen all fine no flickkering no problem even i touch or click any app.
within like 2 min of phone on---------it goes crazy.
just keep clicking whatever men opens it click the center of the screen and keeps moving AUTOMATICALLY.
is this a S/w problem or a H/W?
I tried hrd reset from the recovery mode but again the same.
do i have to update the S/W ?
i also realised that when i play some videos the graphics are not clear and somtimes the video is in monchrome (Green scren) only.
Expert Guys please help.
If you on .35 then Downgrade to .32
.35 kernel has problems with atmel screens.

well itz done i read somewhere to clean up the edge gap near the lcd and tried it. working so far. i belive there was someting stuck there...... causing random clicks as the touchpas is quite sensitive......... thanks to all your suggestions appreciate your kind concern and support.

I'm having the same issue with my U8800...
I've had this for at least a few weeks. At first, it only happened every once in a while, but yesterday I upgraded from 2.2.1 to 2.3.5 and now this happens almost every time I unlock the phone.
What part of the phone did you clean rynaaz? I really couldn't figure it out from your description.
I'm hoping that might solve my problem as well.

Well I had this issue after upgrading to official 2.3.5.
Yesterday after reading about these issues with with the .35 kernel on multiple forums, I downgraded to the official 2.2.2 ROM and the phone is back to normal...
Is there any custom ROM with a fixed .35 kernel?
Or is there any other ROM with Gingerbread/ICS that works properly with Atmel screens?

Well I got the same thing, but couldn't tell what kind of touchscreen I have.
Sporadic 'ghost clicks' on the x5 screen
I have the same problem as described above. Except it appears to be 'self-clicking' in only one specific part of the screen (mid right). It sometimes 'auto clicks' irregularly several times over a couple of seconds, or long clicks, then disappears for a minute, then again... Depending what the screen content is, I can see the highlighted indication of a click. It wasn't doing this before, what caused this?

This is so annoying. I'm about to try cleaning the screen edge with a pin or something, and if that doesn't work I'll try different roms.

As the title mention above, can i ask if anybody of you got this problem
when i try to multi-touch 2 fingers at the same time, there are always a delay between the two
what i mean is that the multi-touch doesn't work simultaneously
and i find that this phone only got max of 2 multi-touch only
i try resetting my rom and i still face the problem, then i try to flash another rom and i still got this problem
so you think this is a hardware problem? or this device isn't capable of simultaneously multi-touching?
hope can someone help or explain the problems am i facing :good:

yeah i think so too, luckily i already change my phone to s5, now i don't have anymore problems regarding this
Mine is working.
My touchscreen is working without delay. It only allow 2 Multi Touch.
