any good seats left?
Place your Captivate in a flower pot and cover with soil. Place a seed into the soil (any kind will do). Water once or twice daily, within a few weeks your phone will be fully rooted.
this is not a question and answer forum. this is the development forum.go to the Q&A section and read the million posts that ask YOUR QUESTION. and read the million answers that already exist for your question.
thread about to be closed.

You've had your fun, guys.
freakb18c1, you have posted a question in Development, it doesn't belong here, it belongs in Q&A. However, there are a myriad of stickies all over the Development, Q&A and General with lots of information you need to read, obviously. Read the stickies before you ask the question, your answers are all contained within them.

what is happening with moderators?

I know that will be Deleted, I will be Banned, IP Banned(lets see if you really can), and some of you will troll me...
But, what is happening with Moderators. Some time they are doing a Great Job,cleaning up threads from trolls, moving threads etc...
But God!! They are going crazy closing treads, just because they dont know what to reply. Even Mods. from Gods know where came here to close/delete threads.
XDA needs to move/delete/close/ban/ip ban/ many of their moderators.
And not, this is not my real acc,so dont waste your time banning me.
Ip ban this kid for using alts... Threads are closed for violating the xda rules or being posted in the wrong section. Posted a question in development in the wrong phone section will not get you anywhere. Obviously you need to read the rules of the site you are using... Also, this belongs in "about xda developers".

I believe they are called puppy accounts or something along those lines
Idc really I really haven't seen them do much wrong
The one time I did I sent a pm where the mod was able to clearly justify his actions to me

You have 3 posts and 1 thread since 2008 including this.
And this is what you decide to post?
I will PM you like adults do and we will try to find out what you are talking about.
Threads are not locked or deleted here without reason.
A couple of threads have been locked in Q&A because they are in the wrong forum and not for this device. That is done to prevent many "wrong forum" posts.
If you have a problem with a specific moderator (guessing you are in the wrong forum as well), you should PM him and discuss it. If that does not provide satisfaction then you PM a Senior mod. And then to the Moderator Committee after that if necessary.
Rants like this would normally result in no one wanting to help you. And probably the actions you requested for yourself. I only see one other account under the same ip. If it is not yours are you trying to get a friend banned?
Thank you for your cooperation

Nexus HSPA+ root without data loss?

Hi,
Is it possible to root my Nexus HSPA+ without wiping or losing my data?
I've got standard Android 4.2.1 version.
Thank you!
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
In order to root.. You must unlock the bootloader. (this process also wipe all data including dats in the sd card). I think there's no way you can root without losing data. You can always backup. Chill

Thanks.
By all data you mean including os itself?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
User data and sdcard will be wiped.
Beamed from my Grouper.
Ok, so including OS I guess...
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
No you will keep the os

I don't think you need to keep redirecting everyone to that forum. This is the third time I've seen you post the same comment in various threads.
While some posts that are strictly related to the 3G model might be better served being posted there, I disagree that this thread has any merit. First, it has nothing to do with the 3G/HSPA+ model, outside of the OP happening to own that one. The answer is the same either way, and is about the Nexus7 in general. His question, which has been asked/answered numerous times, is very generic and has nothing to do with the 3G model or functionality. Second, that forum is for "Nexus 7 3G Android Development", not General or Q/A posts. IMHO, it shouldn't be littered with stupid questions that have nothing to do with the 3G model. If the OP had posted his question about the Wi-Fi version in the standard "Nexus 7 Android Development" forum, people would have told him to post it in the General or Q/A forum instead, as it doesn't belong there either. So I think, outside of the fact that the OP should have searched before posting, the Q/A forum was the proper choice.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we have a 3G dedicated forum, and I appreciate the fact that you seem to have taken the lead on maintaining it. I would just prefer it to be filled with useful threads.

I'm not offended...
My title is Recognized Contributor, not leader.
I'm not leader for something, I just want to help the members of the N7 3G+
It's for it that it's better for the moment to concentrate all discussions in this thread.
And it's not only for the development subject, it's for all discussions, solutions and problems
I know that it's the only thread for the time being. But I try to persuade the Admins to create an another one sub-forum which is especially for Questions and Answers (Q&A).
That's why, I redirecting all subjects for this thread. It's not for the pleasure.
Don't forget that when you are a Junior member or new user, you want to see all in one thread, and not in a lot of threads
On this subject, I wanted to thank you for all help that you bring by all of your answers.

Gotcha. Maybe it would be better if the admins changed the name of the existing sub-forum to "Nexus 7 3G General and Development" to help move more people to there then. Because right now, it's only a handful of development related topics. And I know that many people, myself included, would be reluctant to post general or Q/A type posts in that sub-forum instead of one of the generic "Nexus7" ones.

Forums Need Sorting!!!

One thing wrong with the SGS forums is, the Development forum needs a massive sort out, its getting out of hand, too many questions and users moaning, not enough Development talk, there are forums for questions, and for errors in roms! so come on Mods!!!!
Won't happen
There are not enough moderators, or willingness to enforce forum rules in i9000 section on XDA
So there you have it. I9000 will always be a mess, especially for a dev.
For example there is a 500 page cm thread in dev section, which contains only a handful bug reports. When clearly the OP requested bug reports and dev discussion only.
There is nothing to gain knowledge in these threads since theyre a huge mess. And always will be.

It's just a fact that anything that becomes public knowledge and popular eventually goes straight down the drain on terms of user quality.
Enough people are stupid, lazy, and arrogant enough to destroy anything they want without even knowing it.

Hi,
As far as I can tell, there isn't any questions on a least the first page of development. Unless of course you mean inside each development thread. In which I ask that you report a specific post or a specific post a couple pages back. I will clean at least the last few pages.

Just saw this thread and thought I'd pop in.
We are, and will always be, willing to enforce the rules on each individual forum we are assigned. However because of the sheer number of posts that are posted per day on XDA we cannot proactively moderate each individual post.
We do proactively moderate to a certain degree by for instance moving all question threads from general to Q&A but even then we don't read the threads, often we just glance at the thread title and popup of the first post before deciding if it needs moving or not.
To which end that is why the report button is there, you users report stuff that needs moderator attention to us and we deal with it.
Yes we are understaffed - currently only 4 of the moderators in the Samsung International Moderation Team are active and we have every non US/Canadian Samsung forum to moderate. All other teams have 7-8 active moderators.
However, I'd much rather see 100 reports per day from this forum than no reports and users griping and saying we're not doing enough or not willing to enforce the rules.
Regards,
Jonny

MODERATOR EDIT - REMOVED USELESS GARBAGE
Your post serves no purpose. You have not asked any question here, and you obviously have nothing worthwhile to add to the discussion. Hopefully the mods will jump in and shut this thread down soon too.

Seeing as how you just can't help yourself...
This thread is closed.
The disrespect that you have shown towards fellow forum members and moderators will not be tolerated.
Your last thread was started because you failed to understand that the threads that were closed, were closed because there were already threads on those topics and they were redirected there. If you had even the slightest bit of a clue, you'd have followed the links provided by the moderator in his closing posts.
But no.
You had to create a thread about how much you hate moderators, calling him out by name, and just talking general bull****.
There are rules in place here for a reason. Read them.
And FYI, I didn't snicker when I changed your last threads title. Your childish behavior is not at all amusing, and if you can't control yourself from here on out, do us a favor and hit that button that says "logout" and don't come back.
