Does anyone know how I can add a button that will hide the soft keys, similar to aokp, paranoidandroid, etc? I just want to add the option to my stock rooted phone.

There is ones on the "Theme and apps" section of the forums for Nexus 4 however I think you have to be using a deodex rom and not just rooted stock...
My real question is how do you go back to the original stock style once you're done messing around with the aftermarket ones?

Where can I find the stock apk so that my keyboard shortcuts work? And is there anything I need to do special to make it work besides just installing it?

You could reflash a ROM and it would fix your shortcuts, if you're not able/willing to do that I can Ul the apk after I get off of school.
The rom doesn't include the Asus keyboard so reflashing wouldn't do anything

You may not even be able to simply install it because I'm pretty sure its a system app. Are you on an AOSP or an Asus rom?

Hi guys. As I already said it in the title. How can I force an app to run in phone mode instead of tablet mode on the Nexus 7? I know you can do that with ParanoidAndroid Rom. But I'm on SmoothRom right now and it doesn't have that option, that's why I'd like to know if there's another way to change the UI layout of a specific app? 360px instead of 600px.
Thanks

Nope, you'd have to modify the build.prop, which modifies everything. That's why PA is a very unique ROM.

Hey all
Can anyone give me an image file (PNG, JPEG, whatever!) For the new NavBar default icons offered in the Xylon ROM (Feb.23rd nightly)?
An image for the search, home, back, menu, and recent app window
I have really grown to like them and I want to keep them forever, when I change ROMs or devices I want them still

Re: [REQUEST] XYLON NavBar Icon Images
Hi,
Download the rom, ectract / open SystemUI.apk (with Winrar for example) and go to /res/drawable-xhdpi and you'll see the icons you want like ic_sysbar_******.png then extract them... All the navbar buttons are ic_sysbar_menu / search / recent, etc... And don't forget the ic_sysbar_******_land.png (for landscape mode).

I did all those possible things to make this lovely mod from miui ROM ultimate dynamic navbar to be able to work (remove qemu.prop in build prop.download framework, install uninstall the ROM allover again and again.,install mitools, install the lite version,I try flashing the old vers of miui maybe I thought its not compatible with the latest build yet,any suggestion but it seems that this thing really is not working in my nexus 4,but why only me?I saw others posts that they had this to work but every time I enabled it and tap the home button, nothing was showing in my home screen,I even tried different ways activating it with gesture but it only works only in the app itself..BTW,I had my nexus 4 in kitkat before but installed 4.2 kernels and flash custom Miui version 4.3.7..did I miss anything?
Here r some screenies..any help would be gladly appreciated..I hate eating up space on this stock navbar and mipop as well..dynamic navbar mod works but hate how it look likes..
1st pic: tools requires me with this mod
2nd pic showing that it only shows the app itself not after all when press home

I don't know about the app you mentioned, but there were a couple of apps in the N4 Apps & Themes forum which did this - but it seems they work for 4.3 only.
As mentioned, there are apps which work via Exposed framework which will do what you are looking for (though bear in mind Exposed needs the Dalvik not Art, runtime).
Another good option is to try some ROMs - most of the popular ones have extensive UI customisation, such as battery, clock, navigation bar (the one at the bottom).
Download a ROM and its Gapps (eg AICP ROM and its Gapps, which I use and I can recommend, it's a good place to start)
Reboot into recovery.
Backup your current ROM (creates an image you can restore if you don't like the new ROM)
Wipe: data/system/cache/dalvik. NOT internal storage
Install the ROM and its Gapps
Reboot and begin to setup your phone
If you have Titanium Backup Pro or similar, you can restore all your user apps and data to the new ROM. Generally not recommended to restore system apps or data.
It may sound like a lot of effort to get a battery icon, but you also get a better ROM (faster, better battery and highly customisable UI). With the backup you took, if you don't like your new ROM, all you need to do is:
Go into Recovery,
Wipe data/system/dalvik/cache
Restore the backup
Reboot
