New PRL 60792 is out. I just Updated. Getting really great reception in areas I wasn't before. Most of the time I'm holding 4-5 Bars no matter where I am. Just wanted to give you guys the heads up .
EDIT: I am adding this statement to clarify for some. I am not saying that updating your PRL ( Preferred Roaming List ) will give you reception ( coverage ) where you had none before. I only state that in areas where I was already getting reception it improved.
Ahhh nice! Time to download a stock rom. Lol

You will not get more sprint pcs coverage with this prl update or just about any prl update.

No one stated that anyone would get "more" coverage. I very simply stated that in areas where I already had signal ( coverage ) it improved. I did not state that I now had coverage in places I did not before. But thank you for the information, and the link.
EDIT: I have edited the OP. So as to make sure no one misunderstands.

Thanks prboy1969. I've been using it this week but in my area I haven't really seen a change. I need to brake down and update my radio...

Improved signal would be more coverage. PRLs do not do this for native coverage except for when 800smr is activated.

I've been using this prl and I have noticed an improvement in signal when roaming for sure. Not sure about regular coverage yet but so far it seems better. Thanks for pointing out the new prl prboy1969. I wouldn't have thought to check on that without this post.
Thread cleaned
Digiblur has been an authority on PRLs across XDA for as long as I have known
and it is a known fact that the Preferred Roaming List does nothing for towers in network.
Let's keep this about the PRLs and not continue cluttering up the thread arguing about whether cell signal increased
Thank you for your cooperation

I thought that the way the prl worked is, if tower type one was unavailable then it would try tower two on the list. Then if one and two were unavailable then try number three on the list and so on. With this prl I have been having very good signal while roaming. Much better than before. Is this because Sprint has changed the companies I roam on?
It is not a list of towers. I only saw some roaming preferences in the Northwest that changed. Very minor update for non 800smr capable devices.
It's very very rare that Sprint native coverage will be affected by a prl update as the SIDs and channels were defined long ago in the prl. The exception to that rule is when 800smr is added in areas.

Just make a nandroid, flash Sense and then restore you backup after doing it, it really doesn't take long

I haven't noticed any great increase in coverage, but I don't really roam that often. That said I update to the 60663 PRL for good measure.
The PRL is a list of information that resides in the memory of a digital phone. It lists the frequency bands the phone can use in various parts of the country. (The smaller bands within Cellular or PCS, technically called blocks.)
The part of the list for each area is ordered by the bands the phone should try to use first. Therefore it's a kind of priority list for which towers the phone should use.
For example, say you had a Sprint PCS phone, and were travelling in an area with no Sprint coverage, weak Verizon coverage, and strong Qwest coverage. The PRL would tell the phone to look for towers using Sprint's band for that area. Finding none, it might tell the phone to search for towers in Verizon's band next, perhaps because Sprint's roaming agreement with Qwest was not as favorable, or none existed. The phone would use Verizon's towers, as dictated by the PRL, even though Qwest might provide a better signal.
Since a PRL tells the phone "where" to search for a signal, as carrier networks change over time, an updated PRL may be required for a phone to "see" all of the coverage that it should.

my auto prl update gave me a "smith.micro" force close while running DC 2.1V2. whatever app that is im assuming it oversees prl updates cuz the meter kept spinning and nd never updated. I found the latest prl from ppc geeks in zip format and flashed it thru epst. I too have not noticed any better coverage although i regularly get full signal so im not really worried about.
Yes, i came from 60660 to 60662, I noticed my signal has been increased.. I am using international roaming.. but just ran check update and there's no update.. when did you get 60663?

You have to do the ##775# thing enter your msl code choose the prl and update it.
I am guessing on Darchs rom that is not an option tho since the ## codes do not work. At least you guys have the fastest rom right?
I believe my service has improved since I installed this PRL. It could be all in my head but last night I had full service which is not a normal thing for me...
I'll have to see if it was a fluke thing or if it actually improved my service.
(Upland, CA near LA)
Wow, updating this PRL completely hosed my phone. My data connection keeps dropping continuously now, and I am going into roaming. This is at work where I have always had 3-4 bars. I can't even run a speedtest, because my data will drop down to 1X every time I try. I tried updating again (thinking I got a bad flash) and the same thing is happening.
By the way, this is happening on a stock .6 Sprint Rom with only Sprint bloatware removed.
Edit: Nevermind. It turns out the tower right by my work was having problems all morning. I thought it was because of the PRL update I did last night right before I went to bed. Turns out my coworkers on Sprint were having the exact same issues. The tower problem was fixed this afternoon, and all is well now.
How can I pull my PRL off my phone without relying on others to post the or from a website?

lol I read somewhere that it was actually 616 as the mark of the beast... or something other than 666. But who knows... But yea, I want a backup cause I have been messing with PRL's and sometimes the built in feature to auto update doesn't update. It's easier just to do it myself.
Also, did you know on your phone that 666 also spells MOM? Back in the day of pagers and stuff when I was 14-15, I had a pager and when my mom would page me..She'd put 666 so that I would it was mom paging me...I don't think she ever realized she was putting 666 every time.
good luck to you guys, im out!

Also, from what I understand a PRL of 01115 simply means there is a corporate discount on your account. Enables 3G roaming? Can't find the source now.

updated tower info can lead to better reception and faster speeds because your phone will do handshakes with towers it never did before (in some cases) and any updates to the towers will reflect on the phones.
I do agree that it doesn't 100% = to speed, but it's an important part of the equation.
Hope somebody upload it.

The only thing that will improve, if at all is cell signal, not data.
All a PRL does is update the information on which towers to connect to, basically

The other posts are correct. You are going to connect to the same Sprint towers as you did before on the old PRL. A new tower does not need a PRL update to allow you to connect.
If this was true they would have PRL updates everyday due to new towers and new airaves coming online.

This is awesome! Not sure why I didn't know about this before. Interesting in the last 6 months there have been no network improvements in my area. But in the next 6 months I'll see 4 data capacity upgrades, 1 data speed upgrade and 1 voice upgrade.
In alot of the areas ive been in, they say theres been a ton of upgrades. But I still get awful data speeds.

Actually 11120 replaced 11119. I also heard 11121 has been seen too.
I wouldn't say frowned upon with 00002. I would say the PRL to use if you want Sprint to write you a letter saying "Dear xxxxx, we quit you."

This PRL screwed up my service
I'm 100% roaming where I live. After I updated to this PRL along with Verizon having to replace a local tower 'cause some nut shot it all up, I could no longer receive incoming calls from the local area code whether from a land line or cell, they would only receive a busy signal. Calls from other area codes come in fine. After a 1 hour call to support their only solution was to "go to your sprint store - even though we know it's an hour and a half drive away." So after trying a bunch of consumer and even latest business PRLs the only ones that work are the VZW ones i.e. 00002. I rarely use 3g, so I'm hoping that by leaving mobile network turned off I won't receive a termination letter.
