Hi,
I own a Next G Motorola Defy Plus and am looking for the original Telstra (Australia) SBF for Defy Plus ONLY to restore for warrantee purposes.
If someone out there has the original file, could they please post the file or PM me.

These are not usually checked from my experience, any Australian sbf with a version that is closest to your initial rom will do

Hi everybody,
I'm looking for the same original SBF for the Telstra Defy+ BL7. If anyone could please share it, you'd be of huge help.
The nandroid backup I made before flashing other ROMs seems to be corrupted and I cannot go back to the original firmware in order to take my Defy+ to the shop with the warranty.
I started flashing it because whenever I turned on the data network it would reboot, thinking it could be a software issue caused by getting it unlocked. And after trying several ROMs and settings with different SIM cards I'm positive it's a hardware issue.
Again, this original firmware will be most appreciated.
Thanks!

Try THIS http://tinyurl.com/3gtzs4j
I tried flashing that with RSDlite and it bricked the phone.
Where did you find it? Must be a Defy (and not a defy plus) firwmare or maybe it's not BL7. My specs:
android 2.3.6
kernel 2.6.32.9-ge281b6e
build 4.5.1-134_DFP-231
Anyone can get a hold of the Telstra firmware we're looking for? Thanks y'all!
sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_jordanplus/list.php
(paste into url bar)
Search for ones with the 'File' name:
DEFYPLUS_U3_4.5.1-134_DFP-231
This should be followed by and underscore and your country
e.g. DEFYPLUS_U3_4.5.1-134_DFP-231_AU
for Australian sbf
If you can't find your country look in the column named 'Carrier' to the left of the 'File' names.
I tried flashing the only one on the sbf.droid-developers list that matched that criteria, turns out that, although it's marked as "Unknown Carrier", on the phone specs it says "Retail.en.AU". And it seems to work alright.
I'm guessing this might be enough to send it to warranty..? What do you reckon? It doesn't have all the Telstra starting animation or anything like that, but I'll give it a shot and hope for the best with the repairing service.
Thanks!
Hmm... those tiny link contain the only wild available Tesltra Defy+BL7 ROM. SRY if is not working. I have M525 and cannot test it.

Hello,
I got my Defy a few weeks ago and was looking to run CM on it. But I want to be sure to be able to return to stock froyo.
I have wiped my phone and made a nandroid backup but I read in the 'CM FAQ' I'd still need a fixed sbf if I want to return my phone back to stock. I've been googling for a few hours but can't seem to understand how to create a sbf file for my phone. And the sbf I need doesn't seem to be available on the forum.
Can you guys help me or point me in the right direction? Thanks a lot
Tthe specifics are:

Can someone answer my question?

while it is U3_3.4.2_179-2, it is not called "JOREM", instead it is the "JRDNEM" version. And an USA version at that. Intresting, when searching for these words the search comes up empty. Probably filtered because it whould give to many hits, sadly I don't know what it means now... any pointers? We are certain this version will get me back to a stock motorola defy which I could bring back to the shop for repair?
Taking this in consideration I believe I need to backup my baseband, on the other hand, cm7 has a lot of them preinstalled, i suppose the uk baseband should work in Belgium considering this post. To be certain I send a pm with a backup of my baseband to Sqoerk, the translator of the "basebandswitcher".
Hi,
I also need this sbf, it would be great if someone could share it!
OK, I'll try to clarify this for you but your question is not clear.
IF you have Froyo already and it is your stock rom, you will not need a fixed sbf to keep your "downgradability" if you choose to try CM7. But careful if you decide to try the leaked GB rom or any other newer 2.2 sbf (like the nordic one recommended for CM7).
In fact, I would suggest you to try CM7 (RC1v2) over your stock Froyo first: don't bother flashing nordic sbf.
If your stock sbf is eclair or if you want to try leaked GB, then yes you will need to find a fixed sbf first.
Follow the CM7 FAQ starting at root, reboot, install sndInit v1.4.2 (and don't forget to turn off usb debugging before tje 2 reboots), wipe and factory reset (IN CUSTOM RECOVERY) and finally install cm7 and google apps from there too.
I'm sure that you will find a working baseband in CM7; no need to copy anything in this regard. But setting 'Defy Baseband Switcher' IS the first thing to do after installation. If you don't battery wont last, hot phone and bad or no signal reception...
Hello zorofroozo,
I want to start using CM 7, but before doing that I need to find the original stock rom.
I also have a Defy with same version details as the one you have.
Were you able to find/download the stock rom?

Android-version: 2.2.2
Basebandversion: EPU93_U_00.59.01

Thanks
Does anyone know another place to download this ROM, or can anyone upload it somewhere? Thanx!

Hi Hso3f, your link points to a deblurred Western Europe ROM, which can result in an unpleasant and expensive surprise if the Motorola repair guy looks too close at the small print. It's not the same as Blur_Version_34.179.2.MB525.Retail.GB. It looks like this SBF is totally gone from the web.
Hi Rogier,
yes my link 3.4.2-179-2 GB points to the official Benelux 2.2.2 deblurred rom (Moto_version.34.179.2.MB525.Retail.en.GB), like asked in the op.

Looks like you're mixing up some ROMs. The OP did not ask for a deblurred Benelux ROM, but for the blurred GB ROM, i.e. the retail ROM for the British market.
You're linking to a ROM called JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_179-002_DEBLUR_SIGN_SIGNED_UCAJRDNEMARAB1B80AA03A.0R_PDS03C_UCAJRDNFRYORTCOREEU_P023_A008_HWp3_Service1FF.sbf, which is meant for the other half of Europe. There are a lot of different ROMs that share the number 34.179.2. GB, COREEU, CEE, DACH, ...
"Core EU" is not "GB." The retail GB version has a completely different set of languages, and it's definitely not deblurred.
So the search for the real 4.179.2.MB525.Retail.GB with Blur isn't over yet.

You can see "Moto_Version" and not "Blur_version" if it was a blurred rom systemversion would be Blur_version.34.179.2.MB525.Retail.en.GB, isn't it?
I don't know why motorola left "en.GB" in system version of it, but it's like that. So, This rom that I've linked is the Benelux, western Europe, COREEU, call it what you want, rom. I know that, i'm not mixing anything. This is the same rom i had by msu here in Belgium.

Moto_Version.34.179.2.MB525.Retail.en.GB is Retail Western Europe and deblurred

There are no official deblurred ROMs for the GB retail market. Motorola deblurred a bunch of ROMs for central and eastern europe, but not for the british from GB.

There are plenty of official blurred Motorola ROMs that don't have the word "Blur" in the system version. Motorola not only sucks at keeping links on their site alive. Consistent naming of their ROMs is not their strong point either. And neither is providing timely Android updates or keeping their firmware up to date when they relaunch the same phone with a new battery and the word "plus" tacked on.
This is the same rom i had by msu here in Belgium.

The country in which you run MSU doesn't matter. The ROM you get from MSU is determined by the current system version of your phone, not by your location.
By the way, did you notice this discrepancy:
See here:Moto_Version_34.179.2.MB525.Retail.GB

The blue text may say "Retail.GB" but the link points to a URL that doesn't have the letters "GB" in it, and neither does the pdf on the linked page. Instead, the pdf states that the ROM is for benelux, eastern europe, greece, poland and turkey. Not for Great Britain.
The 34.179.2.MB525.Retail.GB ROM that I got from MSU has german, spanish, french, italian, dutch, and portuguese as available languages. And english of course, but so does every other Motorola ROM.
No trace of a Blur_Version.34.179.2.MB525.Retail.en.GB
Official uk 2.2.2 blurred rom is, i think: Blur_Version_34.177.3.MB525.Retail.GB

Official UK 2.2.2 blurred ROM was 34.179.2 when Motorola first released it last summer. I still have the Nandroid I made after installing the official blurred Froyo update with MSU. If I could turn that Nandroid into an SBF the OP would have the ROM he's after.
34.179.2 is older than the 34.177.3 ROM, but both are official blurred GB ROMs.
Some differences between 34.177.3 Retail.GB and 34.179.2 Retail.GB:
- 179 doesn't have the extra bloatware (social messaging/networking/sharing/status, cardio trainer, amazon mp3 search) of 177;
- Swype 2.25.67.18335 in 179, Swype 2.25.67.18418 in 177;
- the boot animation pulsates in 177 but not in 179;
- the accounts app is called "accounts" in 177 but "my accounts" in 179, the 179 icon doesn't have the Motorola branding that the 177 icon has;
- the gallery in 179 doesn't have the quick upload button of the 177 gallery.
The blurred 34.179.2 Retail.GB was quickly replaced by 34.177.3, which is why the original SBF is so damn hard to find.

That you don't want to understand is moto devs have left en.GB in system version of werstern Europe deblurred rom... so in this case, en.GB doesn't necessarily mean UK with blur but also Western Europe without blur...

That's the rom that i've linked, with the system info that i've posted, from droid-developers and i have also the nandroid of it (instaled in belgium, on a phone buyed in an shop in belgium, and msu was showing me provider:benelux, just to clarify) to compare...(exactly the same, it says COREEU in the file name, but have en.GB in system version, also JRDNEM in the name, but JOREM in built number.)
So my rom is not that you're looking for... ok, but what makes you say that my rom is not that isn't what zrorofroozo looking for? en.GB in system version? All system info are the same...
Also, you have a nandroid of your rom, you have a link for a most recent official rom for your region, what do you need more?
So I repeat this Sbf has these specifics in phone info:
zorofroozo said:

The SBF with the ROM that I got from MSU.
A Nandroid doesn't restore the warranty of your Defy. You need to flash an official stock SBF to remove all traces of 2nd init, because 2nd init doesn't clean up properly after itself.
Flashing the most recent SBF doesn't always cut it either, because MSU doesn't always deliver the most recent ROM. If you run 179.2 MSU won't update it to 177.3, even though 177 is newer than 179.

The Op disdn't mention Blurred or UK neither.
Again, you know that by the specifics that he's posted, and specifics is the same. You decided that "system version: *retail.en.GB" means UK blurred rom... but it's not true...
It's not a uk blur rom, I know that!
It's not the rom that you're looking after, i know that!
But it respect all the system info the op post!
So maybe it's the good, maybe not!
As I say before retail.en.GB can be your uk blurred rom, or also western Europe deblurred rom.
The two are original sbf with these system version.
If someone looking after western Europe deblur it's the good one, otherwise it isn't.
Now stop this sterile discussion.
Edit: I've editing the post with the link for more clarity.
Hi...
You have also here some ROMS.
sbf. droid-developers org
I was pretty surprised to find a FOTA update waiting for my brand new Motorola Defy+ (Asia) when I logged on to Wifi after work. However after download, it invariably fails to install with a very simple error message of install failed !
FOTA details
-------------
Version : 45.0.1321.en.03
Changelog : http://www.motorola.com/staticfiles...cuments/Staticfiles/RN_DEFY-PLUS_Asia_MEA.htm
Phone Details
--------------
System Version : 45.0.891.MB526.AsiaRetail.en.03
Baseband Version : EPU93_U_00.60.00
Android Version : 2.3.4
However when I browse to the /cache folder (where the FOTA files are downloaded I see these 2 files : Blur_Version.45.0.891.MB526.AsiaRetail.en.03.crc and Blur_Version.45.0.891.MB526.AsiaRetail.en.03.zip
Can anybody please throw some light on what the hell is going on ? Did Motorola goof up and push 45.0.891.MB526.AsiaRetail.en.03 (already installed on the phone) as the update instead of 45.0.1321.MB526.AsiaRetail.en.03 (As displayed on the update popup) ?
Same here
Same experience for me too. Tried 3 times. Each time it reboots, a progress bar appears, but fairly quickly it shows an exclamation mark and the screen blanks out. Then it appears to boot normally and finally shows update failed message.
this software update failed
Im getting same response on my uk unbranded mb526

Abesh, Did you have to take it in to a motorola service station?
They asked me to, but I told them that I have RSDLite and can flash the SBF if they gave me the sbf. They shared a dropbox link and I flashed myself.
Note however once you flash you'll loose root. SuperOneClick and Droid3Root does not work. Only way to get root is to use DooMLoRD's script. Refer to my post on how to root the Defy+ 2.3.6 in this forum.

Replied on the other thread. I've been explicitly asked not to share the update and I don't want to do anything illegal. I've been assured though that the correct update should hit the servers in not more than 2 days. Maybe wait till then ?

German update, same problem
I bought my defy+ as soon as it was available in Holland, apparently the phone is really the German release.
Today the update suddenly popped up on my phone, same problem the update failed !
When my phone arrived i deblurred it by editing build.props then hard reset, then i rooted it using the trick "from the german forum" so maybe this is why it failed to update ?
In other news i hear ICS will be coming soon, i suppose i'll just wait for that, but how to unroot my phone if required, i have no clue

Update your Defy Plus using your PC.
It is very easy to update your Defy plus and RSDlite is not required for updating the handset.
1) Just go to motorola India website and select defy plus then click Owner Support button.
2) On owner's support page you will have to click Update my software link.
3) Select defy plus from drop down menu.
4) on that page click "I have read Step 3 about third-party media."
5) and click download update.
6) Install the update software and after its installation connect your defy plus to your PC with USB cable.
7) The "Motorola update manager" software automatically detects your defy plus and install some drivers. it will take upto 5 to 10 minutes.
8) after that select update my phone software and your phone will get the latest update available.

Hi guys,
I flashed a custom rom on my phone and need to get back to it's original SBF. I tried motorola's SBF Consumer API but there's no public SBF. Given that other SBF have been leaked, maybe someone can help me with this.
This phone's flex version is USAJORDMR1B25MSTLALA020.0R
I know this SBF is not available yet but the phone has been on the market at least 3 months. The carrier is Movistar Chile.
Thanks
have you tried this link
Hey there, new to the Android scene.
Just about to flash my Defy with CM7.1 however first a concern:
My system version is 34.145.18.MB525.TNZ.en.NZ, build number 3.4.2-145 version 2.2.2. Running on 2degrees network in New Zealand but it's primarily a Telecom NZ network phone.
When I match the build number with the table at (and-developers dot com/sbf:defy damn new user link restriction) I get
"Australia Optus JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2-145 900 / 2100 N/A not mirrored".
This concerns me because a) it's not my carrier's ROM and b) it's not mirrored
IF I was to flash my defy with CM7.1 and needed a factory recover for warranty, would I even be able to do the recover in the first place and if so, would the store be able to see I flashed a custom firmware because I'm running a version other than 34.145.18.MB525.TNZ.en.NZ?
Is there any way I can make my own full/fixed SBF of the current firmware?
Cheers, thought it's better to be safe than sorry.
No ideas? I really would like to get off 2.2...
How have you got on with this, im running the same telecom system version as you and want to flash to cm7, im pretty new to all this.
I haven't done it yet. Was hoping to get a response so that I could go forth but I'm not willing to do so without knowing that I can get back to the stock TNZ firmware if I need to warranty.

I know this site but there are no version I am looking for.
I guess that sign “OLE-xx” means the version number. Is it true?
If yes, on this site there is version: 1FF-olympus_emara-user-2.3.4-4.5.2A-74_OLE-26-release-keys-signed-NonEFIGSRetail-EU which I think is older than mine (mine was “OLE-27”).
Can you tell me if the version 1FF-olympus_emara-user-2.3.4-4.5.2A-74_OLE-31.1-release-keys-signed-NonEFIGSRetail-EU.sbf.gz will work OK with my phone which was sign “OLE-27”?
Is it international European version without branding? Is the mark “OLE-31” means that it is newer version than mine?
Thanks
My european Atrix had the ole 31 version when I bought it,and it was gb 2.34,unbranded.
Which version of android did yours have? I think ole 27 is like 2.33 or something...can anyone confirm?

Man, this is an european firmware and you got an european device, it should work but flashing with rds-lite is always a risk.
I flashed few times and i got problem for two reasons:
1) i forgot to wipe properly (I suggest to: fastboot -w, fastboot erase system, fastboot erase data, fastboot erase preinstall, fastboot erase cache)
2) I forgot to remove sd-card (f_k*d off) and sim-card (this had more luck)
Flash with battery fully charged and I think you'll enjoy.

- Fastboot wipe (optional)
- Remove sd card and sim card (necessary)
- Make sure you have proper drivers (necessary)
- Use the latest RSD (recommended)
- Make sure you have the correct (signed) SBF, best to use the build that the phone was last on officially (important)
- Double check everything (important)
- Put the phone into RSD mode (then plug it into the computer) and select the appropriate file in RSD and press "Start" (cross fingers)
Always use caution when using RSD. If you're not sure about something then find the answer FIRST.
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for any damage you might cause to your phone by following these instructions. This is a suggested overview and you should put in the proper amount of research and time to make sure you are doing things correctly.
With that said, depending on why you want to return to stock it may be preferable to use a "Fruitcake" as others have suggested, but I have successfully used RSD Lite to return my phone to stock in the past so it is "possible", though not recommended.
Good luck.

Hello Together,
I am not able to download the file (1FF-olympus_emara-user-2.3.4-4.5.2A-74_OLE-31.1-release-keys-signed-NonEFIGSRetail-EU.sbf.gz), provided by the link on first page. Does someone know what may be the problem? Could you provide another place ?
Thanks in advance!
