[Q] [Poll] Order-to-Receive Time - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

In several threads I just read of bad/horror experiences with ordering from the Play Store and it caused me to wait a few extra weeks. I decided to order my Nexus 10-16GB this past Monday which once again showed it In Stock with 3-5 days to deliver. I'm very impressed with my experience. Ordered it Monday morning, got an email Tuesday evening that it had shipped, and it was on my door step this evening, Wednesday. Shipping was a $12 cost and it was UPS 2nd day air and it worked as advertised. I'm in the major metro of Wash DC/Alex VA so that may have helped. I wanted this post out there for others to relate their experiences, mainly regarding ordering via the Play Store because there's not much else to discuss if you walked into Walmart and got it, thanks.

And by the way, my Nexus 10 16GB is perfect in every way, at least 3-days into using it. It's such an improvement over my WinXP tablet from 2005, it makes me cry.

There's significant selection bias on these order delay posts. People that have had order delays or other issues are much more likely to post complaints. Mine came w/ in 3 buisiness days, as have many others. We've seen maybe 50 posts related to delays, but for each one of those how many recieved prompt delivery?

Mine came on schedule. Ordered the day they went on sale. And I have had no issues with it.
Sold my Asus tf700 2 days later. Really am very happy with the tablet.

Thanks guys. I have been trying to get an order for one of these in at pcpartsohio.com after reading about the deal in another thread. I've sent many e-mails and this has been going on for a month! Grrrrr..... For some reason they keep kicking every card back that I throw at them. Glad that this came along because I am getting suspicious about those guys in Ohio. They really wanted me to call with cc info. This just saved me from dealing with their crap. I've been buying from these guys at 1saleaday.com for a few years now and have ALWAYS been satisfied. Rest assured that if you have any issues at all these guys will stand behind it. I have had to have help with doa items from them and they've always came through aces. And they take PayPal. So my order is already in and payed. No credit card thrown back in my face finally!
Just picked on up myself
Hey guys.
I just picked on of these up of 1saleaday.com
Actually, they had the Toshiba thrive on there a few days ago, which I got. I've read a bunch about their nightmarish shipping times, but as of today, my thrive is WITH UPS and scheduled to be delivered by next Friday at the latest. If you ask me, a couple days of processing before getting to UPS is not a big deal.
Anyway, Looking forward to comparing the thrive and iconia for my own needs. Although the fact that the iconia has ICS will probably be a winner for me.

I should have mentioned that in my little review up there. I have seen it take a few weeks (seems like maybe 3 weeks plus once...) to get an order. I just never sweat it, if I need something fast I jump on Amazon Prime for that. Perhaps it will ship as quickly as your Thrive did.
I got my Thrive yesterday, and the Iconia says it has been shipped as of wednesday! Honestly, it was maybe 10 days from purchase to in my hands for the thrive, and I think it took about 5 days for the Iconia to "process" and show as being shipped by UPS.
My Thrive showed up in a Toshiba Recertified (And factory sealed) box, with all components, paperwork, etc...I couldn't be happier. However, since the Iconia has ICS ROM's and much more development, I'm giving the thrive to my Girl to play with, and I'll enjoy the Iconia.

That makes 2 of us Only way I could decipher exactly what you said!
At that price, you could just buy 3 of them, and hang them in the closet next to the 3 same shirts you alternate every other day
Mine Arrived
I just received mine last night. The screen was clean, but the back of the tablet was covered in fingerprints. There was no data on the device and the charger looks well used, but it works. I can't complain for the price. There is no documentation, just a sheet of paper in the box regarding the warranty and the charger, plus a USB cable. Very nice tablet

[Q] Shipment TIme?

I ordered my 16 GB Nexus 4 from the play store Thursday, the shipping time was 2-3 weeks. I was wondering if the shipping time is true, and how long did it take for you to receive the Nexus 4? I am really exited about this phone and can't wait to get my hands on it!
yes google's estimates are usually good, you will probably get the shipping notice sometime during the third week. shipping takes about 2-3 business days in north america.
Yes, shipping times are usually accurate. I learned the hard way: When I ordered my Nexus 7 at the end of July/early August it came in 2 days. When I ordered my N4 at the end of November it said it would ship in 4-5 weeks. I thought because my N7 came in 2 days, my N4 would also come fast. I was wrong and it ended up taking the estimated 4-5 weeks lol.
Thanks for the answers, cant wait for it. Its an amazing phone as far as I've heard
I ordered mine Sunday and got it Thursday and it game me an estimated shipping time of two to three weeks.

Some are lucky, some are not. I'm in the same boat, ordered Friday hoping for an early shipment but not really expecting it. I'm sure my Sims and screen protectors will come before

I ordered it 10 minutes after (so lucky, i was checking stock in the toilet ) it was back instock during the final time it would go out of stock on a Friday
recieved it on the Monday. I suspect i might even have recieved it earlier if it wasnt for the weekend because it shipped on the day i ordered it. It was express delivery for some reason
To the peeps who got it within a few days, did it stay on pending until you got it or did you receive a shipping email or pre-order email or anything? Also where are you located?

Seems like many people have different experiences, I haven't received any emails from google other than that my order was placed. Hope to hear something from them on Monday
Shipping is not accurate at all. I initially ordered a week ago on the Wed when it came back, and by the following thursday I heard nothing. So that morning I ordered a second and it arrived ~26 hours later. So google are unpredictable to say the least. Whatever the shipping, it's worth the wait
I ordered on wednesday, got the phone on friday. And yes, the shipping time was 1-2 weeks. The phone got to me before i got a chance to order any case or even cut my sim to micro sim

New user
Hello everyone. I am a new user to this forum and so far I have learned a lot. I ordered my device on the 3rd and have so far only received the order confirmation email from google. I am hoping it gets sent on Monday. It stated that shipping at the time was one to two weeks. I checked yesterday and it was up to two to three weeks shipping. Can't wait to get my device and start playing around with it. Thank you to the forum moderators for having such a great and informative site.

Another one joins the clan.

So, I bought a N4 since it's by far the best bang for the buck. Even though I have a feeling they're going to drop the 8 and intro a 32 (an assumption) just so they can compete... you just can't beat the phone price to feature ratio.
Anyhow, I was wondering how written in stone the shipping estimate was? I'm just anxious to get it...I'm on this ****ty iPhone 4 (work phone) and I can't wait. I've read some say that it could be a few days and some have waited the full length.
It really could be anywhere in that time frame. I know the waiting is tough but you'll be happy when you get it
Suppose to be two day shipping no? I got mines within 2-3 business days...
Also since I had one of the first batches and was super eager to get my hands on item...I went to ups online and asked them to hold the package for me to pick up instead of constantly missing the guy.
And one last thing...WELCOME!

The shipping days should be based on the place you have lived.Maybe two days maybe a week, but whatever, it shouldn't take a long time if you have ordered the phone.
I ordered mine Sunday evening. Got a mail with an estimaetd delivery for friday. So 5 days. Tuesday morning: ding dong. So these infos are not very reliable
Hah, of course I post this and I wake up this morning to an email saying my order has been shipped. The order was placed Monday evening. I. Can't. Wait!!
Congratz... Your going to enjoy this awesome device!

Affordable Mobiles Orders

Thought to start a thread for those of us that have ordered from their website.
I ordered a Black One last week via uSwitch. The £30 upfront fee has been deducted(not sure if they deduct straight away when ordering) on 02.04 and T-Mo have done their in and out of £2. When I called yesterday I was told that they will send an email before they ship, which I am still waiting for. They also said that they were expecting stock in yesterday, but I assume that was BS as their facebook page is saying next week in many instances.
I've spoken to them twice today and in the morning I was told stock will be in either today or tomorrow and in the afternoon they told me that they've received an email from HTC saying the delivery has been delayed till next week and they're looking at Tuesday (9th) or Wednesday (10th) for posting the handsets at the earliest.
Called tmobile direct to see if they can match the pricing but won't budge from £26pm for the tariff and £170 for the handset up front which is ridiculous.
Will just have to sit back and wait now.
That really sucks. Will just have to be patient I suppose. Not too worried about waiting another week I suppose it will arrive One day
Ordered on 23rd March, they informed me that they would have a stock update today (6th). Got shipping email last night for 24 hr delivery, so should be here today!! Can't wait!
Ordered my black One Thursday night 10pm. Friday 5th they received silver but no black. Apparently they are getting both in on Monday 8th.
My case had came, just no phone yet. They said I am getting the media link so all is well.
T-Mobile £26 a month. £30 upfront for the phone, except I got £40 cash back which has already been confirmed .
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using Tapatalk 2
Ordered my black One Tuesday afternoon while they were stating in stock but allow 24 to 48 hours for delivery.
Nothing yet.
Am hoping they come in early next week so I don't have to make arrangements to be home!
Have been tempted to get a silver One from a Three store but have resisted!
£34 for the One Plan, clearly designed with The One in mind, hah, and £40 Quidco and the media link!

I used them last year and everything was fine with my order :good:
I'm guessing its not just me the site isn't working for ?

Just rang them up. They have only received the silver One's today and apparently they have a lot more orders for the silver than the black. They should be receiving the Black One's tomorrow it Wednesday. Just hope they have enough stock to ship my order.

Have heard they've now run out of media links. Quite annoying for me, as it's the only reason I changed my order over from buymobilephones.net.

Did you email them to confirm you would receive one? I made a point of doing this so that if they do not send me one I can ring and abuse them.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using Tapatalk 2
Well I took the plunge and signed up to the £26 T-Mobile deal and 29.99 upfront because it seemed such a good deal! Not to mention the HTC media thing (if I get one!)
Got all the way to the end and it said I'd been referred and the number on the refer page didn't ring / nobody answered. Then got 2 missed calls from a T-Mobile 0845 number and haven't heard anything since! No emails either.
Emailed the [email protected] address and had a standard email saying about credit checks might delay orders and rang t-mobile and they have no record of anything so I'm in limbo-land! I guess I got somewhere because I had the 2 missed calls but not had anything since!
Here's hoping that everything goes through and there's little delay!
Ordered my silver one on the 28th and it arrived this morning with no sign of any media link. Spoke to them via Facebook and they said they had run out of media links as they were limited. However, I have read they others have received this that ordered after me, so not a happy bunny as you can imagine.
Still the phones a bit special and well worth the wait
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
They had better have one for me. I called specifically to confirm that I would be getting one as it did not show when i pre-ordered and they said that I would be. I cancelled my 02.03.13 order on MPD because this was marginally cheaper AND they were giving the Media Link free. If I dont get it I will be p....ed, and they will hear all about it.
I called Buy Mobile Phones today to ask if it were likely that I'd receive a black One sooner if I were to order with them now rather than keep my order with Affordable Mobiles.
He said that they both share the same stock pool, which is interesting as both companies have different addresses, though both are A1 Comms. I asked if they had ever received black handsets, to which he replied that they had, but they were sent back due to a quality issue.
The main reason I called is that BMP have a customer area and they answer the phone a lot quicker than AM! I don't know if BMP have priority though, being the parent company.
I read on Facebook that Mobile Phones Direct are emailing all waiting customers daily, no matter how small the news. Goes a long way though!

Affordable Mobiles nightmare
I avoided Affordable Mobiles this year after an horrendous episode with them last year. Basically even after confirming my cancellation for a One X, they went ahead and allowed a contract with three to complete, it took me weeks to get things sorted and never received any sort of apology. I've always got phones online through these type of resellers but this year I went straight into one of my local three stores, ten minutes later walked out with a new HTC One Silver.
The reason I did this was after googling how to dismantle the htc one, I learned that it's virtually impossible to repair the phone screen. I can only imagine the trouble I would have with the likes of Affordable Mobiles in trying to get a repair. Was assured by three that the phone would not be sent away if repair was needed but would be replaced. That sealed the deal for me.
Had mine 10 days now and it's awesome. I would advise avoiding the double dip official flip case, it's awful.
I hope you all enjoy your new phones when they arrive

How long was the Nexus 4 sold out and when did you buy yours?

With the N5 coming soon, it's finally time to ditch my trusty old GNex. The G2 has most of the things I'm looking for in a phone (large, high quality screen, great battery life, excellent camera), but the $600 off-contract price and bloatware makes it a no go for me. The N5 looks really good on paper, but unfortunately it nerfs most of the things I like about the G2. I was hoping to wait for reviews and comparisons to come out first, but "waiting after release" for a Nexus product has it's own problems, in terms of actually being able to get one.
So I wanted to ask you guys for your experience with the N4. How long was it between being available at the Play Store and being sold out? Was it available for preorder and did it sell out even then? How long after selling out did it become available again? And when did you buy your N4 and how easy/hard it was to get?
If I recall correctly, the first batch was sold out within 15-20 mins.
And then a second batch was available after few weeks after.
And I think after 6~8 weeks most of the people who miss their chance with the 1st and 2nd batches got theirs.
I think after 2 or 3 months, they start having steady stock? Someone can correct this.
Google claims they did not anticipate that many buyers for the devices.
There wasn't a preorder on the release date,
but I'm sure they will have enough stock or preorder this time around.

i think your right but even after the 2 month there was still a 4-5 week waiting list
Well, I remember that I was mad at google on launch day because they started sales 30 minutes before it was supposed to go on sale, so by the time I was able to take out my phone in class to buy one, they were sold out. Then I had to wait until November 27th to buy one, that was when the second batch came out, and it arrived on Dec. 6th.

I'll add to this that on the first day, November 13th they did indeed sell out in the first 15 minutes which was 15 minutes before the official start time. I logged on at the correct time, noon pacific, and was still able to place an order but it was placed on backorder a day later, the system kept taking orders even though they were sold out throughout that first day. My backorder was filled on the 27th and arrived around the 6th some peoples backorders arrived weeks later and the system would periodically take new orders but they too would go into backorder. It took months to get it all sorted out.
I waited until January and I finally got too antsy and paid $415 for it on eBay. That's how impatient I am at times. Granted back then the markup I paid was only $115 (actually less since I didn't have to pay sales tax) since it was still price at $299 then. Was worth it to me.
Got it after tax refund in February

Well technically speaking, Google never specified a time that it would go on sale. They only specified a date, and nothing else. The fact that it would launch at different places within their respective time zones was also unknown to us (however somewhat known to the US people as it launched in places like Australia and the UK first).
Everyone only had conjectures about the times, and lots of people like me checked at every time possible, including 9 PM the night before, 10 PM the night before, 11 PM the night before, midnight the night before, 9 Am the next morning, etc. I think people expected it to come at 9 AM like Google's usual launches, yet it ended up actually launching at 8:27 AM PST or something near that. People who checked at 9 AM, such as yourselves I'm assuming, were already too late unfortunately. I for some reason was just paranoid about it and had been refreshing the page every five minutes since nearly 8 AM. Still, even at 8:30, the site was having major problems and I was only able to get my order through at 9:00ish, a few minutes before it sold out. Sort of the reason was because my Google Wallet stuff wasn't ready yet, so yes, when you do order, have that address + credit card ready beforehand as the default.
I was in the first 15 minutes to order. I used a chrome app to refresh the page for me and alert when there was a change. I was awake all night until it was purchased (granted I work nights so it was no big deal for me). However, I didn't get it for like 4 weeks. I had to call Google a few times and they kept giving different answers and stated that some were some how lost, but if they manually looked it up they could find your order. So, I was way behind when I should have got it.

I ordered first day. Woke up 10 minutes after it went online and it was sold out. But, around 2pm I bought one after class. Unfortunately, I got that dreadful backorder email later that night took about two weeks to get mine from the second batch

So, good luck to all of us.
