Are you going to use CDMA?
If you are going to use CDMA, you need Droid 2 instead of Milestone 2
Although they looks very similar, but the internal hardware is different
Milestone 2 simply does not support CDMA
Works well with AT&T carrier (GSM). No problems with roaming, nor with native at&t SIM card.
No special need to change baseband in settings, at least Great Britain 2.2.1 works well.

Thanks for your advice.
Because I will fly to USA next month, so I want to be sure GSM works well.

Be sure to not get a T-Mobile SIM Card, because Milestone 2 doesn't support 3G data connection on that carrier...

Hey Guys,
Great deal on Ebay; there's droid incredibles that are refurbished (in B+ condition, I assume that it means near perfect but still a little handled)
for $105. Not a bad price for a phone.

The ebay description claims that it is locked to verizon,
I have never owned an CDMA phone so I don't know if XDA has ways to make it unlocked for any CDMA carrier
you can get it on other CDMA carriers (Cricket, Boost) pretty easily using EPST, but you cannot get it on any GSM carriers.

Yeah, I believe you can update it.
I think even the oldest android phone, the g1, can be updated to 2.3, so I don't think you have to worry about anything

Yeah, its definitely not a super new phone.
This is more of an "if you need a backup or international travel", and less of "hot of the press" deal
Well thats true i forgot about the global capabilities

Hey there,
I am in the US and plan on buying the AT&T Nexus 7 with 3G.
Since i will move back to germany in a few weeks i would like to know if it is possible to use it in Germany (since, you know, the US has some odd Networks)
Thanks for any information
Its unlocked so yes. At least with Deutsche Telekom or vodaphone

thanks for your reply. i wasn't concerned about it being locked but rather incompatible Network modems.
If it works on Telekom or Vodafone it works on every Provider.
Can someone else confirm that the Radios are compatible with European/German Networks?
The N7 supports T-Mobile frequencies and my T-Mobile G1 worked perfect while I was in Grafenwohr, Vilseck and in the bars/clubs in Nurenburg so there's no reason it won't

Thank you, too! I am gonna buy a 3G Nexus7 soon Let's hope someone gets voice calls working
If you have Google voice you can download grooveIP and use that to make calls with since its a VOIP app. Would work great since unless Telekom's plans changed since I was stationed there they kinda suck lol

.33 yes, or .27 too, but only if they support band 4 lte. most dont support band 4, its new. tmobile supports it, a few canadian companies support it, and att in very very limitted lications support it. i have a feeling that koodo doesnt support it.

just like any other radio, there exists many different frequencies. your htc could have been made to support your lte frequency, band 4 isnt very common. call and ask your provider if they support band 4. if they say they dont know what that is, then they dont support it.
thanks

I have a few buddies who have the One Plus One and claim to have unlimited native tether without tripping any kind of notice to their mobile provider.
Will the Moto X Pure Edition have the ability to do this? Or will it have to be rooted for this to happen? I currently use the Wifi Tether Router app on a Rooted S6 Edge and it works great.
If you're buying a SIM free device, why would Moto tell anyone what you're up to?
Ahhh I always thought that Mobile providers could tell?

If they look close enough they can tell. Some have basic flags set up to alert them but they are easy to bypass.

I was reading through the 2014 Moto X threads where people were discussing how to edit their build.prop scripts so that native tethering would not be detected.
I just met up with my buddy today who has a One Plus One and he showed me his native tethering app and it worked great...

CDMA doesn't even exist outside of the US, so I never give it any thought whatsoever. I said SIM free because that's how the device is being sold, without contract.
