So I was trying to turn my Nook Color into a android tablet. Well stupid me forgot that it wasn't rooted and I was getting frustrated and on accident, I Format /Boot.
How do I fix it?
Now the only way it will boot is if a SD card is in it.
Nevermind I fixed it. Sorry.

Ok, long story short this isn't even my nook it belongs to my girlfriend who wanted CM7 on it. I installed CM7 to an sd card and now for her own reasons she wanted to upgrade to the latest official nook release..
Turns out somewhere along the way I installed CWM on the nook and not just the sd card. So for whatever reason she couldn't upgrade from 1.3 to 1.4. I found a way to upgrade to 1.4 through CWM and thought all was peachy until I found that I put the zip on the nook and booted into CWM. At that point for whatever reason when I tried to search for the zip it said "Sd card not mounted" so naturally I found out how to "mount" the sd card and that didn't work.
A forum post on another forum suggested formatting the /boot section and being the genius I am figured "sure what the heck" and now after rebooting nothing turns on.
It doesn't boot into the nook partition, when I insert the sd card it didn't boot into CM7, I even tried this http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...msd-v3-0-1-0-higher-ext3-ext4-compatible.html and it doesn't turn on now.
Is there any thing I can do at this point? I did let it charge over night and the n on the charger went from orange to green.. so I am hoping it isn't entirely bricked, just don't know what to try now..
*EDIT*
No idea why but it just booted into CWM almost randomly.. disregard this I guess..
Hi. Ok so I rooted my NC to CM7 sometime last year, and now with all the blah about markets not working and having to do more about it, not to mention the PIA it is to get books on, I decided to put it back to stock. Which apparently was a big mistake.
First I mounted an older version of clockwork to the SD card, then when I figured that out (having format data error) I did the newer 3.2.x.x one. So that went good, I went through the steps and reformated data and system, and then went to upload the zip from the choose zip part, but it says there are no files. So I backed out, took out the SD and put it in my computer(Macbook pro) to try to put it in again but it wont show up at all? I tried looking in Disk Utility too and its not there. Any ideas where my card is? What do I do next?? I have nook complete restore 1.0.1, 1.0.0 and nook color update 1.4.1 on my desktop, I thought I had 1.0.1 on the SD card.
I've been reading and googling all over, I can't find what could've made my SD card disappear?
Thanks, I know you must get these all the time and I really appreciate your help-
Ok I didn't do anything, but it just started up to the little silver N and is now sitting there? Is that a good thing?
Don't panic. The NC is very hard to permanently brick. From what you've described, it sounds like your SD card may have gone bad or been corrupted. I'd just try again.
The 'n' logo is a good thing, but if it hangs there, be sure you've followed all the steps carefully. That's typically a sign that /data wasn't formatted, though from your description, you got that step.
Sorry I can't offer up anything more specific. Do be aware that you can restore back to 1.3 if you don't want to go back to 1.01
It happened to me and what I did is plugged my sdcard into my android phone and format it and start over again.
I did that couple time during first attempt to install CM7 on my nook
Hope this helps ! Good luck!
Try plug it into different computer(s) along with using usb-adapter.
The Eausus Partition program works well to wipe/format cards too...
long story short,
i have a rooted nook color and was trying further modify it. i mixed up the SD card with one containing a rom for an htc hero. i noticed it immediately but there was not anything that i could do. i have tried everything without any success. it will make a sound when plugged into the computer but that's it.
Hold power on nook for 30 seconds.... then remove the SD.
Create a CWM bootable SD.
Place it in the nook and power it on.
The bad news is it probably screwed all your partitions and we'll have to do some recreating of rombackup.zip and factory.zip
We'll figure that out after you get it booting into CWM
ill try it as soon as i get home
I appreciate your help. I am out of town and its hard to find the time. I plan to try it soon, I just don't want to rush and mess it up worse.
I'm in the same boat
I accidently (on purpose) deleted the emmc partition on my nook. I was dual booting from emmc to stock rooted 1.2 and CM7. Now my nook won't even begin to boot up. The screen won't turn on or anything. Is it toast?

Nope. Make an "emergency SD" -- something with cwm or one of racks' bootable cards. You can boot into that. At that point, if you've deleted partitions you can re-create them on the emmc. Then you can use clockworkmod to reflash them.
NCs are really, REALLY hard to brick permanently (I remember when "bricking" was synonymous with permanently destroying or turning a device into a non-recoverable brick.. but I guess it now means going into a non-bootable state or something)... in any event, don't give up hope. You should be able to recover so long as there is no physical damage.
I was in CWR and formating system, data and made a mistake and formatted boot. I rebooted and now the NC will not power up. I put in my usd card with eyballer's img on it hoping that life would breath again... not yet. What can I do?

Go through this thread closely... I will bet your nook color is not a brick.
You're Right!
Well, it's back and breathing again. Now back to the original problem I posted here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24118096&postcount=5
I'm now reading about how to use ADB to adjust a boot flag that may be set to always cause the NC to boot to Recovery? Wish me luck.
Hmmm, another CwMR flashed into eMMC issue?
Hate that.
I want to know how to remove CwMR too.
Hi all,
I bought my kids nooks for Christmas and rooted them all with cm7. Recently my oldest son decide he wanted to clear his nook and set it back to the factory state... (no idea why) regardless he decided to do it on his own which I only found out about after he had er bricked it. Here's a description of what he says he did.
1-Wiped the SD card
2-Copied the nook software to the sd card
3-rebooted into recovery mod
4-deleted anything he could delete? No idea, this is where I had to laugh
5-rebooted the nook, it didn't... Go figure
I'm not sure what version of recovery he had but it had to be an older version. I tried the various resets but I'm pretty sure the internals been wiped... now I did connect it to a PC and just cycled the power and it will chime recognition for a sec but then its still dead. Is there a way to create a new internal boot loader or is it spare parts?
Thanks either way, love the site

You may want to try to boot ClockWorkMod off an sd card(here is a link to a forum post about it) and if that works then you will want to follow leapinlar's post to repair the partitions here
Your issue is he probably formatted /boot (older versions of CWM allow that). If he did that it will not turn on unless there is a bootable SD in the slot. The solution is to go to my partition repair thread as the last user recommended and follow the instructions there.
