Not sure if many folks yet have caught wind of this but Amazon has permanently lowered the price on all the models of their Kindle HD 8.9" tablet.
I believe as of March 13, 2013 or there abouts.
I was lucky to visit Amazon.com and saw the price lowered for my Kindle HD 8.9" WiFi 32GB model which I bought from local Best Buy store with 30 day low price guarantee! I was just about at the 29 day mark and got my lowered price match refund.
So heads up for all the Kindle HD 8.9" tablet owners who bought it and are still within the 30 days low price guarantee! I saved $70 on my purchase because of this lowered price.
The lowered price is only for the Kindle HD 8.9" models and not for the 7" models.
Not sure if this info was ever posted anywhere in these XDA forums. I did not see any mention of it. So I posted this info here.
Also, on March 13, 2013 I've received an email from Amazon announcing the KFHD 8.9 available for sale in Spain!

Are good news to the few that have an USA 8.9 here in Europe, as soon they could localise the tablets in their countries with only one update.
I don't know when, but today when I went to amazon, the tablets have new prices...
Kindle Fire HD 7: $20 cheaper from $139 to $119
Kindle Fire HDX 7: $30 cheaper from $229 to $199
Kindle Fire HDX 8.9: $40 cheaper from $379 to $339
Kindle Fire HD: still $299
Oh, I would rather I had bought it later !!!

They always go in sales, but they are incredibly priced either way!

They will do nothing but continue to fall in price with each passing month.
Just wanted to let the community know I bought 3 refurbished kindle fire hdx 7 that had firmware 13.3.2.1 off of Amazon. All easily hackable..
Same experience when I snagged a refurbished 7" HDX in early November. Surprised Amazon hasn't upgraded these units to 3.2.4 or above.
Fyi I just received a replacement Kindle fire HDX 7 today and it's 13.3.2.1 too.
My first kindle was on 4.5.1 and had a broken display. The second was also on 4.5.1 and had a faulty display.
the 3rd was a reconditioned one and it was on a 13. firmware and I stupidly left the wifi on when setting up and left it alone and it had upgraded.....
eBay search: Amazon Kindle (5th Generation) 7 in - 8.9 in Screen Tablets shows SV98LN
Wikipedia: Amazon Fire tablet show KFFOWI
This XDA post Help me unbrick my Kindle Fire Gen 5 mentions both SV98LN and KFFOWI.
This XDA post Bootloader Unlock Ideas has the text, "I bought one of these 7-inch Fire Tablets (5th generation) during the $35 sale a few weeks back. I purchased it from a big chain store, so it has model SV98LN rather than the KFFOWI reported by others in this forum.
A Google search for "amazon SV98LN kffowi" gives a top result of Fire Tablet with Alexa, 7" Display, 8 GB
When my Fire 7" was still alive, it said it was KFFOWI, but then it crossed the Capacitor Bridge to heaven and I started looking on eBay for a replacement.
TL;DR I can't find anything official at amazon.com that explicitly states SV98LN is the same as KFFOWI. What am I missing, and what would I get if I bought SV98LN off of ebay?
