I've been experiencing slow home page icon when I'm in landscape mode (keyboard).
When I close the keyboard, it takes about 6 seconds before the icons show up. Before the icons you see the background only.
Don't know if it may be a program I installed or an app using the memory?

same here, any luck?
Still having the same issue. I check appls running in background but couldn't see anything out of norm. I can't believe no one else is having this issue.
Help!

i just use adw and make it system persistent meaning it will not rotate, for some reason the home screen was the absolute worst application to rotate and so i decided it shouldn't need to. try it out and see which bugs you more, slow rotation or no rotation
mine rotates to home screen completely fine and fast. The issue is when I am in landscape mode (with the keyboard) and I close the keyboard to go back to portrait, it rotates but the icons/widgets does not show until 5-10 seconds later. it shows the background only.
I have auto rotate the enabled on my nexus 7 and when the home screen rotates to landscape (sideways) it squashes everything is on the home screen. I am running android 42 with xenon hd rom I am also using apex launcher. Attached are normal and landscape mode pictures.

lol yea im sure ive had at least one device that when you setup a home screen go portrait then back landscape you would have half your widgets added to a new homescreen. jellybean is soposed to solve this issue but still not all app widgets are 100% resizable

Hi, Natenatenate...
You mention you are using Apex...
The trick with Apex (if you want to use it in both landscape and portrait) is to ensure the 'grid' setup is identical in each.
I have found a 6 x 6 icon arrangment for both landscape and portrait optimal, with margins both vertical and horizontal set to 'small'.
...and do not use the Tablet UI setting...
Below are my screenshots...
In landscape, note how the dock bar and search bar are now down the left and right hand sides of the screen respectively... this preserves 'aspect ratio' and negates the squashed effect you report.
Finally, the dock bar can support up to 7 icons (at 100% size), with the dock bar horizontal margin set to 'small'.
Hope this helps...
Rgrds,
Ged.
I don't know if this had been posted, but if you own the Xperia Z charging dock you can enable landscape home screen rotation
turn off the phone and then dock the phone (in off mode).
After the charging icon appears, just power up the phone while its in the dock. Once the phone is powered up, just remove it from the dock and you should be able to rotate the home screen.
But, what's the point?

different strokes for different folks you know...
I like to use the phone in landscape on my desk without the dock and if you're in an app that is in landscape, e.g. a movie, you don't have to flip the screen back to portrait when you have to goto the home screen.
Really smart trick

Or just use Rotation Control from the play store ...
Hi,
can you please help me finding the tool which will force ALL applications work in landscape mode? Ie when my phone is in dock and i am using phone app - it is getting back to portrait mode when placing the call.
Thanks in advance!
MCC
Is there a way to fool the phone into thinking it's docked I much prefer landscape

I can already do this permanently with an app in the drop down notification menu, I can select landscape and it'll force landscape for everything but I get a native result. Works for everything except for portrait apps, and vice versa. This works on the lockscreen too.

What i found is rotation locker - works as expected. The only issue is with screen locker (pattern).

I've changed the dpi in build prop to 320 and auto rotate is automatically activated, I set font too large and I quite like this dpi,. Now if there was a way to make widgets bigger. Screen shots attached.

I'm talking about Screen Orientation Control on the Google Play Store.
This is what it looks like, hopefully it works.
Not sure what happened to the screen resolution is it some random imgur compression thing?
Thanks for the link for the app. Now I can control the orientation whenever I just want it to change.
Re: All above posts
Hey people,
I think you guys might be interested in the app called "Rotation Anywhere".
This is exactly the app all of you above are looking for.
And the best part "it's free". !!! :good:

I've discovered that if you use the xposed module "Xperia flip settings" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46703096#post46703096 that gives you the AOSP quick settings you can disable the screen rotation while keeping its actual orientation with the toggle.

I just install ultimate rotation control on play store. Turn off the widget in the notification area and set Global to Force Auto.
After that everything works fine with the standard Sony widget. Auto rotate does as it should and turning it off locks whatever orientation you currently have. Ie portrait or landscape.
Works well. Dont mind 4.2 so much now.
Cheers
Alec

Is it possible to rotate the home screen in reverse portrait mode?
I tried 'ultimate remote control' in Play store but it only rotates the apps but not the home screen.
If i remember from my Note 2 days, ultimate rotation control worked on every screen: home, lock, apps
