Hi everybody,
I finally build from source CM7 for 2.6.35.7 kernel. But I have a problem. In the first boot,It boot normally and I can see home screen but in second/third boot, I can see the bootanimation but audio.policy and audio.flinger crashes. If I pull the battery for 1 minute,It boot successfully. I can upload the ramdisk and device sources to githup If you want
Here is logcat (for second boot);

Here is logcat (for third boot);

Here is logcat (booted successfully)(for fourth boot)(before booting,I pulled battery for 1 minute)
Click me!
Try replacing the libs i attach. I've compiled CM7 for .35 kernel in the past but i couldn't get Viber to work. Let me know if it works on your build

I tried this,but libsystem_server.so crashes.
I guess I fixed this. I changed some line in ueventd.rc and now it always boot successfully. Thanks anyway
Hmm i guess you are building libaudio from source right? No clue then :|
What i've used to build for .35 was this http://code.google.com/p/cm7-u8800/...=android_device_vendor_2012jul04.zip&can=2&q= and it build just fine but had the usual .35 kernel bugs.

Yes,I built from this sources with my fixes. But I took audio libraries from genokolar's CM7
Hmm,It seems that I couldn't fix this issue, any more idea?
Any idea?
Can you get the dmesg on bootloop?

What about "cat /proc/kmsg". It could be kernel might have some issue and it should be shown there.

Now try doing "cat /proc/kmsg > /sdcard/log.txt". It loads forever so you can do Ctrl+C after a few seconds. Then try to upload the log.txt somewhere for the full kernel log.
The current log does not give any info but I had this bootup issue once and it was caused because the kernel had not established sound ports so the userspace driver failed to load it and restarted all the time. The kernel issue was strange and I did not look into it, so now we can...

I already tried "cat /proc/kmsg > /sdcard/log.txt" but it isn't copy all of log. I did " busybox dmesg > /data/dmesg.txt" and it worked. Here is the full dmesg log when phone at bootloop

Now, you would have to to this code when the bootloop is occuring, as currently it is simply the boot log, it doesn't crash or fail.

But how can I do this? currently dmesg log saved while logcat says "Waiting for media.audio.policy..."

First critical error is: [ 9.240478] init: cannot find '/system/bin/sysinit', disabling 'sysinit'
Seems like if /system partition isn't mounted, but fstab is okay. After flashing ZIP, those binaries are present in /system/bin. Device stays on Samsung bootsplash and ADB is working since I built with eng so ro.adb.secure is 0, but if I try to open shell I get /system/bin/sh: not found. Kernel source is CM11 one.
If anyone has an idea, any help would be appreciated.

Hello, I built AOSP 5 and CM12 (even if it's still more AOSP-like atm) for i9505 but don't boot.

Hi, devs please help me a little. I've been changing roms from custom to stock since these several days. I've been facing constant freezing that leads to rebooting (and some mic feedback that just wrecked my internal speakers) no matter what ROM I've been using (stock or custom). The freezing usually happens (randomly timed) when I'm opening an app (or game) that heavily taxes my CPU. Everytime I recorded and save a logcat, it never shows an E on the app itself, because maybe my android didn't have the chance to record the logs when it freezes. But all of the ROMs I've been using always show 'this' in every logcat that I run. I honestly don't understand whats going on. I've been googling since yesterday with no luck. Does this have something to do with my kernel? Currently using legolaas's GECKO ROM.
Code:
E/upi_ug31xx( 183): [event_loop]: uevent_request = 880 (1088)
E/upi_ug31xx( 183): [get_memory_buffer_from_kernel]: memory buffer size mismatched. (13640 != 53769)
E/upi_ug31xx( 183): [event_loop]: uevent_request = 80 (1102)
E/upi_ug31xx( 183): [get_memory_buffer_from_kernel]: memory buffer size mismatched. (13640 != 53769)
I/upi_ug31xx( 183): [get_daemon_uevent_request]: uevent_request = 9d3 (09d3)

ROM'S I've been using:
STOCK WW_3.24.40.87
STOCK WW_3.24.40.78
STOCK WW_2.2240.54 (yes, KK downgrading)
quanganh2627's AICP & RR
dgadelha's CyanoZenMod 12.1
XHook's Cyanogenmod 12.1
legolaas's Gecko ROM
extra info: I've been using custom recoveries (TWRP for Zenfone), unlocking (for custom roms) and relocking (for stock) the bootloader. I wipe my dalvik & cache everytime I flash a new rom, even formatting them, but with no luck. Every ROM that I use always freezes (EVEN IN STOCK ROM).
extra info part 2: My T00F's shipped with a different CPU (Z2520 1.2 Ghz), with minimum internal storage (8GB's) but it's still recognize as T00F. Maybe this could be the reason why I've been facing constant freezing (maybe).
Please help

Sorry I posted my thread in the wrong place. If the mod's can move this to the Q&A section, I'd be very grateful.
Hi,
That logcat you just posted is related to the UPI battery driver and I don't think this is related to your freezes. Although, you shouldn't see this error.
I suggest you to use the stock with locked bootloader.

Whoopsies, a false alarm then
Thanks @dgadelha for straightening things out. So upi_ug31xx stands for the UPI Battery Driver? I thought it had to do with memory management
Would love to go back to stock with a locked bootloader, but the main reason why I stopped using stock was because the freezing started from it (about 4-5 months ago). As far as I remember, at that time I was using the stock WW_3.24.40.78 ROM, bootloader was still locked (stock bootloader from .78, never tampered or edited), rooted and xposed was active + installed correctly (xposed-v78 or v77-sdk21-x86). Didn't flash any custom kernel, everything was stock solid (including: stock recovery).
I'll try to post another recent logcat then so that everything becomes clearer. Thank you again dgadelha.
It is not fault of rom.
You got reboots/freezes due to incorrect bootloader unlock.

It is not fault of rom. You should understand it
It is a fault of boot unlock.

You got reboots/freezes due to incorrect bootloader unlock.

But tank0412, It started way back before I unlocked my bootloader (When I was still using stock ROM with stock's kernel, bootloader & recovery). The main reason I started using custom ROMs was because of the random app freezing when I used stock ROM. Even yesterday I tried using stock ROM (even downgraded it to KK stock) the freezing still existed. I wiped everything before, even formatted it using TWRP. That's why I'm currently frustrated with my T00F.
*PS: I relocked my bootloader when I flashed/installed stock ROM using "adb sideload".

You made an incorrect bootloader unlock so only unbrick will fix it.

By unbrick-ing means I have to restore the original dnx, ifwi and fastboot.img via droidboot or by using xFSTK? I've relocked my bootloader several times and successfully installed stock many times (via stock recovery adb sideload). I thought by sideload-ing stock ROM automatically overrides unlocked dnx and ifwi with original dnx & ifwi.
CMIIW, unbricking means my T00F is bricked and is in a state where it can't turn on right? But my phone isn't bricked or having bootloops. Sorry if I'm wrong or something.
Like I said before in my last posts, sir, the freezing started way back before I did any unlocks or any sort of modification to the bootloader or recovery (everything was pure stock), I didn't even know what 'unlocking the bootloader' means. When I was still using stock ROM ver. WW-3.28.40.78. I rooted my phone and installed xposed not using custom recoveries (TWRP, etc.), but by using shakahuang/shakalaca's method (file pushing or something, I forgot hehe).
Well at least for daily operations, my zenfone 5 doesn't have any problems so I'll probably be fine. It just means that I'll have to stop playing games on my phone hahaha
You can use this method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65367132&postcount=2) to fully restore your phone. It will put you back on Jelly Bean (4.3) firmware so after doing this you can just update to KitKat/LP via recovery method using this steps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65367222&postcount=2
Thanks!

Thank you so much @dgadelha for this. I just tried the 'Offline Update Image Script' method. It seems I'll be staying on stock ROM for awhile. Oh I've got one more question, I really wanted to stay on stock Jelly Bean ( currently using KK), but it seems like my whole system got messed up (crazy bugs).
bugs: The touchscreen calibration is messed up (can't even get past the setup wizard because of the messed up touchscreen), ROM doesn't detect battery (after booting up, if I don't use a charger, it automatically powers down).
So it means practically all Zenfone 5 users can't go back to use stock JB ROM anymore or it's just me that can't? I can't boot to bootloader (Shows a battery charging pic but with a '?' in the middle) but at least booting to recovery still works
At least the freezing's completely gone. tank0412 was right about my problematic bootloader. Still haven't found the way to correctly unlock my bootloader. I tried yours (in the CyanoZenMod thread) but freezing still was present (and yes I did the fastboot erase data, userdata, cache b4). It's just pretty weird though, because 5 months ago (last year) when I was still using stock LP ROM, I had no knowledge about anything related to bootloader unlocking (only understood the simple flashing and wiping via fastboot, like fastboot flash recovery, etc.) so it means never did anything daring like not using stock fastboot or recovery, but my stock device still frequently hangs.
Thanks again dgadelha!

Hi @ezrawk,
The touchscreen issue could be because of wrong ifwi version, so I suggest you to flash this fastboot image before applying the offline update image script.
So, technically, you boot into booloader, and run this commands:
Code:
fastboot flash fastboot fastboot-2.21.40.30.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
This will update your fastboot image to 2.21.40.30 which is the most good for changing ifwi/dnx versions. After this you can update your image to the Jelly Bean system.
If you can, send your phone to repair, that's a big problem, I never faced this bootloader problems.
Also don't forget that you must do
Code:
fastboot erase cache
after changing dnx/ifwi and boot images.
If your freezing is completly gone at least you know the way on how to make it stop freezing.
Hello there,
I own a Samsung Note 3 N900. Right now I'm using the unofficial Cyanogenmod 13.1 (lastest version). The phone works amazing with that rom, but from time to time it shutdowns and the only way to power it on again is connecting it to the charger. 99% of the times this issue happened to me I was using a camera app (B612). I do not remember if this happened with any other app.
Last time this happened the battery was about 55%.
Here is the last_kmsg.

I have the same issue with my n900
It's an issue with the cpu
You should change the ROM and go back to a TouchWiz ROM because the cm is tiring up your cpu
If the problem still there you have to change the battery but do not use cm again otherwise you will face the same problem again
I think our note 3 has had enough and we must change it but right now I can't afford a new device
I hope somebody will develope a TouchWiz based marshmallow ROM soon
This is what I get from last_kmsg right before a freezing happen (by unlocking bootloader ofc). Please take a look!
Is there anything we can do when "hard lockup" occurs? which is what I marked below.

i dunno why but with latest RR nougta kernel i have 1 screen freezing per 2 days. So i think main problem isnt in bootloader but in kernel.

That's what I'm trying to think of. But I can not read the Call trace when bug detected
Last night I found an interesting stuff but don't know exactly why.
What I did is changing the "proc/sys/kernel/watchdog_thresh to 60" and then the freezing keep occuring right away when boot to lockscreen (also can not take log).
Why changing frequency of hrtimer and lockup cause freezing repeatedly like that?
Could anyone works with Linux explain me a bit about this parameters please?

You are correct, I have used nearly all lollipop and nougat roms and never faced freezing. In the latest build of rr nougat freezing is present.

Freezing can be caused by many reasons. It's kernel in your case but my case, it's the unlock bios that does something wrong with bootloader. And the result is that kernel does not work proberly.
That's what I can come up with after living with freezing by unlocked bootloader.
P/s: anyone read this thread and also have the same problem like me. Please take your time to share me the log after freezing (from proc/last_kmsg). That's could be great.
