I have always heard some good experiences with ebay although I cannot speak on the amount of money you would get based on how you configure your sale. I personally always go for craig's list because it allows you to work out an arrangement that you both can agree on instead of settling. Works best if you use the built in auto forward email feature so that you do not have to disclose your email address to potential buyers and leave the possibility of being bothered later when the Nexus is long gone. Good luck!

Craigslist for me too, so I can deal locally and in cash. If you have a problem on eBay there's nothing eBay will do to help and you will be out either your money or the device...
I sold my HTC flyer within 2 days on craigslist. While there are still crooks on cl, by dealing locally and in cash, I've never had any problem. I also use the email forwarder and provide no personal details until I can smell that all is on the up and up...

I think eBay will get you more money as far as "hey, I sold it for $175" but then when you pay the fees and the shipping you end up with $125 in your pocket. Craigslist will give you cash instantly (no gaming playing with PayPal), and you will probably get more in the end if you sell it for less money.

Umm im not sure what u you mean by eBay won't do anything but I have had nothing but great experience selling on eBay. Ebay will totally stand behind you and make sure everything goes as planned. Of course u always run the risk of sum1 not paying but that's about it...

Yeah but its not like you'll be out of anything besides time. You don't send the product until they pay. Some jerks will bid on a item with no intentions to pay but its not like you take a loss financially. Ebay will refund all fees associated with listing the item if the buyer doesn't pay. But it does suck if you have to go thru the hassle of relisting it again lol.

I second this.

my vote goes towards Amazon. this is where i sold my Asus TF101.
and 2nd to Swappa.

I go craigslist. But if you use craigslist post a number if you actually want to sell. Myself and everybody I know skip over adds that don't post a number, when I actually want to buy something I want to talk to you now not wait for you to ignore my email because your to lazy to take 30 seconds and delete your add (which really is that easy from an android phone) after a sell like a previous reply implied.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I would try another tech forum like Hard OCP or Anandtech or similar. Both have established markets with few incidents. Make sure the user can verify themselves, uses Heatware, etc. If that failed, I'd try Craigslist, meet publicly, cash-only, etc. The hits from either Paypal or Ebay alone is OK but NOT both. I only sell things on ebay if I know I can't sell it elsewhere (needs bigger market, niche item).

Trade in old phone from Samsung up to $300!

Was just browsing the samsung site after i got my new S3, and wow I can't believe it! My S2 gets a quote of $135 from Samsung directly! that's right! i can mail in my phone to samsung and they will give me a cheque for it!
anyone tried this service? do they pay you exactly what is quoted?
Seems to work in US and Canada ATM.
also is the S2 worth more than $135 on the used market?

Your s2 is worth more when you sell it privately. Avoid these type of 'deals' unless you really don't care for the phone and don't wish to make much profit off of it.

CM 10 Epic For Sale

I am going to sell my Sprint Epic 4g. It is rooted, CM10, original box, charger, original battery, extra 1800mAh battery, Realook screen protector, no scratches, couple of small marks on the chrome rim, & headphones. I can throw in a couple of cases if you want. $100 + $10 shipping and insurance through USPS unless you prefer a different shipping co. If no one is interested, please let me know of any good sites to sell it on.
You could try and sell it on eBay or Amazon. If you don't mind selling locally you can give craigslist a shot.
Why letting it go so cheap? Does it have a clean ESN?

A quick search on ebay, amazon, and craigslist shows that you can sell it for $150 to $200. Especially if it is rooted.

Selling of phones is not allowed outside the Marketplace which has high restrictions.
I am being nice and allowing this for a day or so more then you will need to place it on ebay or craigslist.

Thanks for all of the comments. The market place is closed so I was looking for suggestions on other avenues where I could get a good/fair price. I also thought someone here, because of their love of android tinkering, might want or need a new phone. I already listed it on craigslist for $150. I will be listing it on ebay if there aren't any takers soon. Friendly neighborhood moderator, you are free to close the post if you so wish.
Thanks again
Figure I'll put my ad up here..
I have an epic. If you need / want one.. Pm me.
Pretty sure it has a clean ESN, eBay ad said it did, haven't checked.
Also said it had a bad speaker, not sure which. But the loud speaker works fine(though I have torn it down and back together, probably fixed it.)
No screen damage or other, slider is tight.

With the price being as low as it is, there's not really a 3rd party insurance that is worth the trouble. If you can get one from say bestbuy, where you get the bestbuy protection plan, its one story. They'll let you get a replacement right off the shelf with no waiting. These 3rd party insurance plans are more expensive to begin with, and they make you mail your hardware half way around the world turning it into a 2 week ordeal to get an issue fixed. The headache of dealing with the insurance company only over the phone and through emails and the longer wait just isn't worth it for something that you can buy for under $200.

50 dollars for 3 years of accidental insurance+12 case. Pretty good imo
Squaretrade accidental 2 year policy. It does not cover lost devices but will cover damage with no deductible and a 5 day turnaround. They also hand out coupons like candy so the plan i got was roughly 35 dollars. Which is cheaper than some premium cases. Best option imho

Just itemize it under your homeowners or renters insurance. $200 coverage prob runs about $15 / year depending on who you are with.
I prefer to buy my electronic devices through Best Buy because of their insurance coverage (went through 3 DINC2's and didn't pay a penny to replacr) but they weren't selling them in my area. I ended up buying mine at Office Depot. Insurance was about $70 which I think may be a little too much, but it covers EVERYTHING.

Getting my SGS4 today - Trade in question

Talked to the Sprint online chat people and they said I can get my early upgrade now.
I have the SGSII running CM10.1. To trade it in for the $75 bucks, do I have to go back to stock or does it not matter since they're going to reflash it anyway?
put it back as stock it doesn't raise a red flag.

I agree with this. Just like Gamestop, they'll buy your product back for as little as possible. Meanwhile, they still have the product they're buying back from you on their shelves for the original full price, or discounted & it still beats the price they would have pay for yours. Put it on craigslist, ebay or amazon.
Meh... Craigslist is full of Nigerian spammers. Maybe I'll sell it here on XDA.

[Q] Should I fix my Nexus 7 or wait it out for the next gen?

Hi, I got a Nexus 7 last December and loved it. Please note the passed tense because a month ago, a friend sat on my Nexus 7 and the screen cracked.
I have since been planning on buying a new screen on eBay for about $100. However, recently I have been hearing about the leaked specs of the next gen Nexus 7.
What I am wondering is if I should save up more money for the new one and just trash the old tablet with my friends scrawny butt imprinted in glass, or just fix it because the next gen isn't worth it.
I'd love to hear your thoughts because I can't decide.
Not to be a ****, but doesn't your friend have insurance that could refund that $100? It's normal here to be insured for breaking other people's stuff.

I once broke the back of his iPhone so it's not fair for me to make him pay for it.

Either sell it for parts. Hint hint. and save the money for the new Gen. Or fix it and sell it. Personally, I'd sell it for parts.

Yeah, that could work. Probably could get 50-100 for the cracked one, more if I include things like my case (probably won't fit the new one by my guess)
Sell them separate. Will take more time. But more money. If you want a quick 100 sell it as a whole.

Looking for the quick 100, I really miss having a tablet. :'( Also it has been rumored that the base model of the next gen will only be $229 (current gen 199) so I will have most of the tablet paid for by the time it comes out. I think I've made my decision, thanks everyone
