Hey, I know its possible and I've done some reading but couldn't find anyone in a similar situation as me.
I want to use 360 controller, not PS3 with six axis. Never liked PS3's so CBA buy a controller just for nexus.
I have a "Wireless" 360 controller.
But I have the charging cable, that goes from Xbox (USB) to the controller, and sort of hugs the controller and battery (to charge)
If I plugged this in, then put it through an OTG cable into my Nexus 7 what would happen?:
Nothing?
Would it just charge?
Or would it become functional and allow me to use it for games?
THANKS !
Charging cable only charges the battery. No data is transmitted.
If you like your 360 controller, I recommend you get the official wired Xbox 360 controller from Amazon. It's pretty cheap and is amazing with games that have native controller support.
If you want to use your wireless controller, you will have to buy a wireless adapter and follow this tutorial
Hope this helps
Probably not work, I tried the same with my sons wireless on the PC through the charge cable. The controller was detected but only charge worked.

Great, thanks for the answers.
Thought it was a long shot but worth an ask
Again thanks you 2 !

Anyone tried a 360 or PS3 controller on this tablet ?. I have a wireless 360 controller with the usb adapter lead but the 10 doesn't pick it up. They are pretty cheap on ebay but not sure which to get :-
PS3 controller £9.99 (around $15) - Works via bluetooth and uses its own battery.
360 wired controller £12.99 (around $20) - Plugs via OTG but will draw power from the tablet.
Both I think are knock off versions so might not even work lol
There are apps on the market that provide the software and drivers needed for either a PS3 controller or xbox 360 wired controller via OTG. Then you can use either one to play emulated games
As for your cheap ebay controllers, i'm not sure.

On other devices you could use the PC Wirless adapter for the 360 via USB, and use wireless 360 controllers. The nexus 10 doesn't seem to even turn it on via otg though :/
Im in the same predicament kinda sad the ` ultimate tablet' it's the one that least has hardware support
I can't comment on the ps3 but the Xbox 360 wired controller works just fine for me.

I have both a wireless 360 controller and a cheap 360 replica. Both work like they should when I connect them via OTG to the Nexus 10.
Also, connecting a mouse and a keyboard works with OTG.
I read that OTG cables are different from each other, it may or may not work depending on the cable.
I have used both and I prefer the ps3 controller. I use the otg cable with both. If you root the N10 you can you use the ps3 controller via bluetooth with an app called six axis. You don't need an app if just using the otg cable.

Ps4 controller, jk. Obviously ps3, root your device and use sixaxis controller as more ppl says... all games work with it .
I recently got an XBOX 360 controller to try to get it working with my Nexus 10 however it is not recognizing the controller. The controller itself is a XBOX 360 controller with a USB charging adapter. Since I don't have the USB wireless receiver I'm trying to get the controller to be recognized through the USB cable. Thus I have connected the USB to an OTG cable. When I hit the synch button it continually flashes but does not synch. Is there something I need to do to my N10 to get it to properly recognize the controller? Drivers or rooting etc???
My Nexus 10 is currently stock Android 4.2, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference, it has NOT been rooted yet.
Thanks

Has to be a wired 360 controller. As far as i know the wireless model still connects wirelessly even when plugged in with a 360.
The wired controller is working great for me in GTA vice city though.

the wireless 360 controller does work on a N10, but you need the XBOX 360 Wireless Receiver and your OTG cable. unfortunately this setup is not supported by any of the games i've tried. vice city for instance does not even have a deadzone setting for the wireless controller and the button mappings are all over the place, whereas everything is preconfigured for the wired version.

Yeah, the wireless receiver is essential. The n10 doesn't have a key map for wireless Xbox controllers, which is why they don't work with most games. But if you've rooted it's easy to get it all working. See this thread from the n7 forum, same process applies to the n10. Been playing GTA Vice City with a wireless controller, works like a charm.

Do you have to do any setup to get it to recognize the wired 360 controller? Do you just plug it in to the micro-usb port?

well, yeah.
360 controller -› OTG cable -› N10
no need to configure anything....

That's easier than using the wiimote. Thanks!
Here's my simple little setup. Consists of two Logitech F310 controllers, Seagate 2TB USB 3.0 had drive, Pluggable Peripherals 7 port hub and of course the official controller. Also has a keyboard and mouse dongle plugged in. I'd love to see others. Post em! (BTW, forgive the white extension cable, it is actually connected to the hard drive as I am in the process of backing it up)

6months old photo, but still using the min combo BT keyboard, charge the AAA batteries on the TV usb with the USB hub under it.
And I keep the mojo on it's side.. i think it looks cool and lets the heat rise.
I'll take more pics when my other controller comes

I wont recommend the mini nor the micro (button keys instead of real keys unless it a remote maybe), it's okay for quick surfing/emailing but not for chat etc.. great for my travel bag.. but I would use it more if was more fullsize... I need to replace my old wired keyboard mouse.. so i'll be looking for a fullsize BT combo.
From top left:
AverMedia Capture HD II C285, MOJO 4way USB hub, 32GB roms, cheap twin PS clone controllers on one USB, Behringer headset for late night gaming sessions.
My old USB keyboard and MS laser mouse, 7inch Hyundai T7s, Travel clip with my tablet mod.
MOJO CTRLR, retail CTRLR, Shintaro Mini Bluetooth Keyboard.
And under the TV I have a 4way USB hub powered by the TV's USB port.
Attached are two USB AA/AAA battery chargers and a retractable USB cable for the mini combo keyboard to charge.
Not that much really
I have a LG V20 (8.0), and I'm trying to use my XBOX controller. It's not lighting on. Any tips?
Just spotted LGH990_LGH990DS_LGH990TR_Oreo_Android_v20a posted at opensource.lge.com/osSch/list?types=ALL&search=990
What am I supposed to do with this?
@Remphz
I don't know if you will be able to because from what I've read you can't just plug the controller into the phone via OTG because the controller doesn't connect through the wire it only connects via wireless and the cable just does syncing and charging duties. You would prolly need the wireless adapter that came out for using them with Windows 10 PCs.

Maybe you could with a 3rd party wired controller but there is no official wired controller as far as I've seen
Ok, I'll try to explain the situation I have here:
I own a Moto Z Force with Moto Snap Projector and it's a great device to do stuff. Since I don't use it as a phone anymore, I can use it as a media player (Kodi, Netflix, Amazon...), videogames (Snapdragon 820 is awesome for emulators) and streaming console (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Geforce Now and Steam).
What I want is use USB Ethernet and charge it at the same time. I bought an USB-C Hub, with a port for charging, but it didn't work. Since the projector is plugged on it, it has 2 USB-C ports, so I plug the charger on the projector port and it starts to charge. When I plug, for example, a thumb drive on the other USB-C, the original port for charging, the charger stops charging and it'll read the thumb drive.
The point is: I can't read the thumb drive and charge the cellphone battery at the same time. Any ideas why?! Any ideas what I must do in order to charge it and use USB LAN Ethernet at the same time on it?
Thanks a lot!
