Any of you guys have an issue where your N10 will occasionally show a horizontal distortion line, a digital glitch/artifact that is a perfect, narrow, horizontal line? It was happening frequently for me before the FIRST (not 4.2.1) OTA, but then after it only happened very ocassionally.
The exception is running the WiFi Analyzer app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.farproc.wifi.analyzer&hl=en) in this view (https://lh5.ggpht.com/TU-HX4NPq5GLdOY8KNVtw3tRWFTOWTsafpWzxJCwdZckpKlNQL27Dqr47rdefDNxhw) in landscape mode for an extended period of time, which causes these glitch lines, plus bad backlight flicker.
I've filled a bug report if you've got this issue, but I'd also like to know if anyone else is having this problem.

I'm getting some flickering too in WiFi Analyser but couldn't spot some anywhere else to date.
I've been seeing this when reading magazines, and sometimes browsing the web via chrome.

I think Wifi Analyzer's rendering glitch is a separate issue, as I can duplicate that on my N10, but have not had any other artifacts.
Just got mine a few hours ago and I installed quadrant on mine. When I tapped on the application I got weird horizontal different color lines just for a second before quadrant opened.

Yeah its like a straight line on the whole screen right? Kinda like a screen glitch for a split second? If so I've got it on mine occasionally too when using chrome browser or ocean browser. However my line is vertical, top to bottom...

I get the "flicker" line when I am playing Heroes of Order and Chaos. It doesn't do it often, or at the same point, or in any predictable fashion that I can tell.
It has happened in other circumstances too, but I don't recall specifics. It really doesn't bother me - just seems weird.
Yes I was seeing this but I was on 4.2 build jvp15p but I've updated to the latest build a few hours ago and so far haven't seen any flicker. will edit if I see it later on

I'm seeing it quite frequently in anything that renders a web page - I'm not sure if the apps have their own webkit in them or if they're utilizing Chrome.. I see it A LOT (like a few every second across different parts of my screen while browsing Reddit is fun app.
Similar with Nexus 7? While you using a Nexus 7 downloading something at full speed, the screen will flicker

If Honeycomb gives every users a mind-blowing experience from Froyo and Gingerbread, Honeycomb 3.1 is quite a update in terms of user experiences.
It improves over quite a number of areas to fix the glitches from here and there due to a first generation OS release.
One phrase to describe it is
Smoothness and responsiveness.
I had a head-to-head comparison with iPad 2 (my friend's) and my Xoom last weekend.
While apps I can find almost what I need from both iOS and Android (tablet compatible), one observable issue is the screen and apps responsiveness. Even my Xoom at that time was overclocked to 1.5G thanks to Tiamat's kernel, it barely matched iPad 2's screen by screen browsing, web page browsing and speed of apps opening etc.
With this 3.1 update, I thought Google hit home run on this front.
Other improvements includes previous mentioned by other folks
1. Recovery boot option appears (from folks who updated "naturally")
2. Under system update , there is a button to hit "check now" , so that we don't need to change system time to force a check everytime.
3. Resizable widgets (Gmail widget tested) is very handy
4. other publicly announced improvements.
Still exploring features now, rooted with instructions from this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1073884
Thanks stachre!
Will post a quick review with more screenshots on website. =)
Happy xooming folks!!!
Along with your points, I like that the recent apps bar now scrolls as well.
The YouTube app looks awesome in HD.

Bluetooth sucks. My keyboard keeps dropping when the mouse is connected. Other than that this thing seems great. Just waiting for some new kernels to drop now!
The new Quick Controls in the browser are fantastic. Overall the browser is much more responsive.
I've also noticed the keyboard lag seems to be gone.
Other differences are minor....
- the selection carrot when typing is more green
- the keyboard clicks as you type
- the Wi-Fi icon shows when you are uploading, downloading
I'm sure I will find more but its only been an hour since I flashed.

I'm wondering if you guys could test and see if the portrait lag is still there?
When you are in portrait mode, does sliding left or right in the home screen still lag? Thanks!

Also in Market, you can choose "app content filter". Damn I can't select "High Maturity" alone.
Thanks jiwengan for the quick reply. Not exactly sure how I should interpret your answer though? Are you saying that there is no lag when in portrait mode anymore? Thanks again!
Can you actually rate apps in the market on Honeycomb yet?

Quick controls look just like the ones that were already present in labs.
do you still have to be rooted to use a screenshot app?
I'm liking the performance enhancements.
For the browser quick controls, just to go settings in the browser, advanced and google labs.
I don't see any addition to leave comments yet in the market though.

in labs? So what exactly changed in 3.1? People keep saying they love the new browser but i dont see it any diff?
Labs is a section in the browser options where you have a few options to alternate your UI for example. One of which are the quick controls.
And they changed a bit so they got even better. Just try them...

He got confused on your questions.
his answer number 1 which was no, meant that when you actually turn it from horizontal to portrait, it still lags slightly before changing the screen orientation..
and his number 2 was to answer your actual question, which according to him is yes, it runs smoother than before.....
I'd like to see this for myself, but I'M STILL WAITING!

Portrait is smoother, but still not as smooth as landscape on mine. The update is fantastic though. Overall performance is better. The quick controls redefine tabbed browsing to me. No complaints.
The quick controls are two "rows" thick now instead of 1 and there are a few more controls. It is more definitely different from before as I used the quick controls heavily and noticed the change instantly. Overall a much nicer experience.
Has media playback improved? I'm mostly interested in how HC 3.1 does with scene HD TV show MKVs (720p with H264/AC3).
Thanks.
Hey guys,
So I recieved the new 3.2 update today on my US Wifi Galaxy Tab 10.1 and there's a few changes that I have already noticed:
1. Samsumg removed the bouncy effect (similar to the one the was in Apple devices) that was in the browser, settings menu, Android Market, and anything that scrolled and has replaced the effect with the normal Android effect of a blue highlight that gets bigger as you try to scroll more at the end of the page (Possibly has to do with Samsung vs. Apple court case?)
2. Now when you're watching a video on youtbe and using full screen the bottom bar is fully gone and there isn't that random line that was there before !
3. The menu button looks a bit different in the Android Market and Youtube app, almost bolded or popped out (no new Android market btw. It's the same old one so we still don't have access to the music store from the Android Market).
4. Now when you click on a contact icon, when the list of all possible things of contacting them (Google Voice, Google Maps for directions, Gmail, Twitter, etc) shows up entirely and you don't have to scroll left and right).
5. QuickOffice HD seems to have been updated (but not to the newest 5.0 version that is on the Android Market). The icon has also changed and now it says "Pro" and "HD" on it (which is what the Android Market version icon is like)
6. Browser seems a bit faster but I'm not sure about that. And the tablet in general feels overall faster.
Anything else that you guys have noticed? (Besides the button that changes app screen sizes that normally comes with 3.2)
Aboutebug settings changes now seems to stick.
all share is available.
Web browser seems alot snappier. App drawer and pages scroll smoother aswell.
Good morning all!
I'm glad that you got the update on your Tabs. Can I ask you what the better if I fill up its batteries and then update it, or if I plug it in and until filling up I'm updating? Did you notice any problems while updating? Is this update deleted anything from your device? Or everything stayed the same?
There's a little icon next to the clock to turn an app into full screen
This update was for the WIFI version only right?
Allshare is present now
does the screen shout button function can be changed? , like in galaxy tab 7.7 its function can be changed and also the mini apps can be edited or even removed in the 7.7 ?
how is there no updated market YET??
The browser definitely is faster.
Has anyone had issues with home screen auto rotate lag? I updated to 3.2 and it now takes 2 - 3 seconds to rotate. With 3.1 it was almost instantaneous. I also tried the widespread fix by long pressing the home screen and choosing a section other than add widget with no results. This is very frustrating.

Yes, it is especially noticeable when you turn your tab 180 degrees in one motion. ( top becomes bottom)
OK, so I decided to change my wallpaper from a static image to a live wallpaper and the rotation improved immensely. That is so counter-intuitive, but see if you can re-create it.

The Market update comes with Android 3.2.1.
I just noticed that Swipe is present after 3.2 update. Was it present before 3.2?

Yes. It was present in the Touchwiz 3.1 update
Dice player compatibility, anyone? 3.2 wifi user reported diceplayer broke in this ver. I'm on 3.2 3g and it fixed video playback with diceplayer. I was having issues with 3.1 previously.
Id like to add.
Previously on 3.1, 180 degrees rotate will make a 90 + 90 rotation
With 3.2,it fades out and inverts the screen, and fades back in.
Hope this information is useful.
Agreed with all of the above.
However, I get a lot of gapps Force Closes. Can anyone suggest anything besides a full wipe?
I've noticed since 4.2, any kind of grey popup overlay (such as menus and installing apps) has a weird banding effect either in the middle of the dialog or in the bottom right. Does anyone else have this problem? Was initially worried it was my screen, but I'm able to screenshot it, so I'm guessing it's a software side glitch. I have two imgur links of screenshots illustrating the problem, but can't link it since I haven't hit 10 posts yet.
Yes, I know what you mean. Running Paranoid Android 2.99b2 and M+ kernel a13. I think its an issue with 4.2 though...add it to the growing list.

Hi all,
I'm having a weird issue with my gallery app. When I'm viewing a picture and click the picture to remove the share/edit/delete bar and the little film strip at the bottom, they don't disappear. So I basically can't see anything full screen unless I'm in slideshow mode, which is pretty frustrating.
The weird part is, sometimes it does work, but maybe only 10% of the time. And when it does work, it'll work beautifully without any problem for the rest of the time I'm using the app. Then I'll fire it up again later just to have the same problem.
So, am I just incompetent, or are other people having this issue too?

You are more than likely having the same issue many of us were having with apps that were turned on under the "accessibility" menu. If you turn them OFF then the gallery should return to normal.

Noticed when browsing with the stock TW browser, sometimes my white backgrounds get this blueish /purplish tint to them. They'll fix their self eventually, but it's kind of annoying. Does anyone else ever experience this? Or is it a glitch with my handset? I could try a different browser but the stock one fits my needs fine.

It's weird because it seems to happen completely randomly. I'll just start using Chrome exclusively for a day or so and see if it happens there.
OK so far no issues with Chrome or Dolphin. Must be a bug with the stock browser.
