I revived my cousin's phone with Odin, but now when I try to flash either root.zip or update.zip in recovery, it gave me an error with installation, first i thought it was the sd card but then I tried with a different one and the same problem occurs.
Can you give me an advice how to fix that?
Try another zip file..
Chances are that they got corrupted..
What kind of error it is..
**rooting is new for me...and i am noob to root...**

Wrong forum. If you want to flash the kernel do it via cwm. Odin does not recognize .zip files.

S2??Here ins Note2
sorry guys please move my thread someone
Hard brick : it is when u do some **** and u phone doesn't boot neither into recovery nor download mode and nothing shows up even when charger is connected
But this can be fixed by following steps
This method is basically same as the normal stock rom flashing tut, EXCEPT the way you get into Download Mode as your phone is HARD BROKEN.
1. Download all the files required in the "SOFT BRICKS" Prob, (Just Google that). ie normal Odin files
2. Remove everything from your phone (SD card, sim, battery).
3. Plug your phone into your computer WITHOUT the battery.
4. Press and HOLD vol. up and vol. down.
5. As you are HOLDING these buttons, reattach your battery.
6. You should be in Download Mode.
7. Now flash ur Stock rom via odin...
8.hit thanks right after u see the Samsung galaxy y logo

Hi folks, I'm having some problems with my wife's phone, the more I try, I can not install any custom rom on it, whenever I try to install by the SDcard the same message appears ...
impossible to record and aborts the installation.
I learned to install the stock rom by Odin without major problems, but the bootloader remains locked, someone could help me in this case?

Is that in recovery it shows up: E:Error mount sdcard and E:No such file or directory?
If yes, you can copy all your sdcard data and format your sdcard via your sgy...
And last, wrong section!!!
This Should be on the Q&A Section..

you dont unlock the bootloader - this is not a HTC phone!
follow my instruction on how to flash via odin and download the firmware from my thread at the top of the 5360 dev section or clicking the link in my sig then clicking the link for the stock firmware
The sd card error in cwm has already been answered in this thread - you need to correctly format the sd card
also questions go in the Q & A section NOT General section

Thank you! I managed to solve the problem by changing the Kernel gadget by Odin. And the other problem was indeed on the SD card, changed and worked perfectly!
The problem now is that I install the ROM but nothing changes ...
the gadget makes the installation process, but after restart remains the same. Would help me?

Hello dear Forum Geeks
I Recently rooted my samsung s5, sm-g900f, and then deleted Applications whitout freezing them first to see if theyre unecessary.
My Menue Button didnt seem to work anymore. Anyway, thats the short story why i wanted to Flash the whole system whit the Stock firmware.
i downloaded the 1.5 giga Rom, it seems to fit my country and even my provider. G900FXXU1ANE2_G900FVFG1ANE1_G900FXXU1ANE2_HOME.tar.md5
i went into download mode and flashed the rom via odin, which went well until 99%, then a Fail! message appeard.
i removed the battery and tryed to turn the device on, now the message Firmware upgrade envountered an issue, please select recovery mode appears.
This sayd i followed the turtorial http://androidcentral.us/2013/09/how-to-fix-firmware-upgrade-encountered-an-issue-on-kies/
and now iam on step 5, which is putting your S/N number into Kies so it can find your device. Unfortunately it doesnt accept my S/N number, i reaally dont have a clue why.
so, no firmware emergency available. It might be because i didnt use Kies from the beginning to flash the rom, or..... anyway i dont know what to do now. Please help!
Thanks in advance,
jan

it is not possible anymore. only the place where firmware upgrade encoutnered an issue please select recovery mode & try again appears.
Pull the battery.. Wait 5 sec..
Place battery..
And now first hold the Menu key & Volume --(down) button..
Keep holding them and now press the power button..
Try it once or twice or so many times, until you enter into download mode..
It should work..
Me also faced same problem before..

No need to feel shame..
Now download Philz touch CWM for G900F..
Then flash it via Odin..
That should give your device's life back..
Try this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2706253

Nope.. You've already rooted your device. Right?
Then you don't need to CF auto root again..
Just flash the cwm..
