Hello, i messed up my phone:
I updated successfully to AURORA_4.1_4.0.4:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1532662
But then i wanted to go back to official ISC and I updated to this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951481
After that my baseband turned to unknown and I tried to install this 'Changelog Final Full B928 ICS Baseband':
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1793014
I replaced my previous ics recovery (6,0,1.0) with 5,0,2,7 recovery and install 'Changelog Final Full B928 ICS Baseband' from SD card. After that I can only go to recovery and my phone always restarts at white Huawei screen if I try to start it normaly.
Can anyone tell me how to go back to official GB or ICS?
How to delete or move my post? I see now that it's in wrong section of the forum :/
Thanks to Bronxitas, i was able to install stock ICS and here is the guide:

I currently have a 19020T Nexus S running MIUI running build number MIUI-109020 on GB 2.3.5. How exactly do I get to the official ICS from Google?
I read somewhere that you need to flash to stock GB and then flash the official ICS ROM. How do I flash back to stock from MIUI? Sorry If this is kind of a noob question :\
EDIT: I check on ROM manager and I have a backup of stock GB from 3 months ago. Should I restore to that?
EDIT 2: Please close this thread. I just realized I posted this in the wrong section.
use CWM...
Download this (credit to marsrogers). This is google's stock ICS full package (not increment package, so you don't have to install stock 2.3.6 first).
Put it into the root of your sdcard, name it whatever you want, just make sure you can find it.
Boot into recovery (don't ask me how).
Select "apply update from /sdcard", then choose the zip package you downloaded before.
After it completes the installation, reboot your phone, then you have stock ICS.
hi guys,
first of all,im not sure if this is the right place to post this thread,if not, sorry about it!
so,my problem is,on my huawei u8800 i was using a MIUI rooted rom,but it was unstable,so i just instaled the official latest rom 2.3.5 gingerbread from huawei's website..thing is,as this is an UPDATE.APP file i have now lost my CWM and it has been replaced to "android system recovery 3e"(or utility) and now everytime i want to get in CWM i cant,i found this room annoying as it is allready the 4th time that after 2 or 3 days using this rom everytime i restart the phone or remove the battery it gets stuck on the animation bootstart..and i have to instal the rom again..so i found another rom (ics aurora_3.0_beta2) but i cannot install without CWM..android system recovery 3e only gives me "reboot sytem now, apply update from sdcard, wipe data/fact reset, wipe cache partition, touchscreen firmware update" and i need the other options like instal zip from sdcard, advanced, bla bla bla...does anybody knows how can i get this sorted out,im just e newbie, lol,so if someone knows please explain it to me!thanks guys
by the way,i wanted recovery-clockwork 5.0.2.6 instaled if possible!
ps,sorry for the big text
This link might help:

Also check out aurora ics forum in development section for instructions on how to flash.
Edit: always check first post on a thread.
Official gb always removes everything from your phone, it is like a factory reset.
You need cwm 5.0.2.7 or 5.5.0.4 for aurora.
Try searching the forum for help, it is full of useful info!
solved
thanks man!!!did it just like it says and im now running aurora ics 4.0.4!!look really nice !good post!thanks
Glad it worked!

Hello Everyone
Thanks for the XDA to help me bring my Dead A500 back to life
after getting my uid in ubuntu and obtaining skb and formatting the whole Device and partitioning it, i am finally on stock 3.1
But I cant find an Official OTA that could get me to stock 3.2.1, and in xda site, i searched and i found the only OTA stock 4.0.3 , when i try to flash the ota stock 4.0.3 using stock recovery ie (volume down + power + update.zip in SD) After flash, i end up with a dead tablet.
tried some other ICS rooted roms and all the same, they get me to a dead tablet.
only 3.x versions will boot after flashing.
My a500 is a 16gb Gen1 , it was on the Official stock 4.0.3 , it suddely bricked for NO reason, after using V8 i got nvflash error and pointed to Root 3.2.1 ,, 3.2.1 gave me several unsuccessful tries, but suddenly one of that tries worked, successfully installed root 3.2.1 but thought i could go for ICS, after flashing ICS , i ended up with a bricked tablet.
So I again flashed stock 3.1 and luckily my tablet boots into the OS . Acer A500 4.010.40.com.gen1
What should i do. what rom should i use to go to stock 3.2.1 (or what should i do to go to stock 4.0.3 or non-stock 4.0.3)
only these two roms work for me after Stock recovery flashing:
Here are two Gen 1 roms provided by dibb_nz . Please say thanks to her.

i reset my iconia to factory Honeycomb , did software updates in tablet setting but it wouldnt let me install I.C.S. (kept telling me device was uptodate .

Hi.
I have just got a Acer 501 from ebay and it is running
Acer_A501_4.066.24_COM_GEN1 with HC 3.01 BL
I have tried to do the OTA update via the system and It says that its up to date.
I thought it would OTA to ICS bit it does not seem to keen on the idea.
I have downloaded acer recovery installer from the market and it says there is no recovery installed and it cannot find root, then Crashes and FC
Now Because the A501 is ging to be used with Elavon Mobile Merchant the device has to be stock rom and unrooted.
I would like to have ICS on the device and would like a few pointers please as to how to get ICS onto the device.
Thanks in Advance for any replies
you are in Honey Comb 3.0.1 ROM (the factory default) .... you need to find the update file of your device , so you will update manually to at least HoneyComb 3.2 ....then it automatically will OTA update to HC 3.2.1 then to ICS 4.0.3
look here for the update files of booth A500 and A501

Thanks for that Dr but am already 3.2.1
still 2 options to go :
1- did you download the "ICONIA TAB Update Enhancement" from the market ?
if no ,
then download , restart , then recheck for updates
2- download couple of the ICS A501 update packages in this thread ((http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1816560)) then convert them to "update.zip" , put them in SD-Card , then shutdown , hold vol+ then power led ... you should go to recovery mode and update manually from the SD-Card .... please take in consideration , take copies of your CPUID (AKA: UID) ,also this step may brick your tab , and you'll have to go back to factory setting after a huge dilemma , so be caution with it
Done 1. and it still says no update available
Also acer recovery thing from the market says no recovery installed not tried to boot into recovery yet. So I guess next step is option 2.
hi everyone
i'm explaining the problem that's getting me crazy!
I've got an a500 tab. it was HoneyComb 3.1 at first, I downloaded ICS 4.0.3 Stock Rom and installed it via SD Card, Power + Vol- button.
i've been using it a few monthes now i want to use a custom rom like tegraowners JB.
my current version of rom (ICS 4.03) can't be rooted with ICS Root for a500 because it's version is'nt supported.
so i decided to install a 3.1 HC Stock rom, root it and use custom roms.
i downloaded 3.1 stock rom, named it update.zip and copied it on a sd card.
inserted SD card in tab and turned it on with Power + Vol-. here is the problem!
first i see recovery mode loading then an android logo with a (!) sign on it.
cdn.gooyait.com/uploads/android-recovery-mode-600x276.jpg
and tab get's restarted...
any idea?
I don't know maybe i've downloaded the wrong rom.
if yes please link to the correct rom for thei version:
Kernel Version:
2.6.39.4+
Image Version:
Acer_AV041_A500_RV21RB01_WW_GEN1
Build Number:
Acer_AV041_A500_0.014.00_WW_GEN1
PLEASE!

Stock recovery probably isn't designed to flash anything other than ICS. (Or it can't go backwards?). As for rooting, the blackthud3r ICS root tool oughta get ya done. (There are 2 methods, search and find one. For your case I recommend number 2)
[Anyway, don't worry about rooting the stock ROM, on an A500 this doesn't help you get jellybean.]<- MAY BE WRONG. In order to install a custom ROM, you must install a custom bootloader and recovery. Here is a guidehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1622425 Once you've gotten through that(and assuming you haven't died of heart attack), you can install a custom ROM. Just follow the instructions on said ROM's thread. My favorite(albeit, a bit buggy) one is here :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2239476&highlight=jellybean+rom&nocache=1. Good luck!:good:
EDIT:
You need a CPUID to flash your bootloader. I don't know if you need root to get that.
Install a custom bootloader
You shold read about custom bootloader, it isnt that difficult, you get root of your iconia, download a flex software it automaticly downloads the latest recovery I recommend TWRP, and from ther you could touch the option install and select you zip file
