hi guys, im a noob......im gettin my nexus 4 this christmas and im currently using a blackberry...ive been searching how to transfer my contacts and i cant find anything that can help me out....i really need help
Sync it to Google. When you sign into your new nexus all your contacts will be there.

If you are gonna cut you sim to microsim you can....
import contacts into your sim card, then simply plug in your sim and export over. (sometimes you dont have to, the phone will automatically detect the contacts in your sim)

I can help but you want to sync with google I guess. Go to contacts, click menu button, accounts and add account, you need active data connection

Is any 1 experienceing problems with adding contacts to sim? My phone won't give me the option to save to sim just phone and Google account. im using a micro sim with adapter and everything seems to work apart from this.

hasnt every android phone not given the ability to save contacts to sim? you always had to grab an app from the market to do it i believe.
SIM contacts are extremely limited in the amount of information they can contain. Standard Android, like on the Nexus One, G1, and G2x, doesn't have the ability to save contacts to SIM without going through several steps.
I remember having trouble with this on my desire hd, its strange cus i purchased the Mrs a galaxy ace and that lets you but more expensive phone won't lol. Thanks i guess only way is too Google backup

Hey guys, having a stupid issue here, I have SOME of my contacts from my evo3d that are not syncing with google, Most of my contacts synced and loaded to my new GS4, but not all of them, and it is not like it is just my most recent additions, just some random ones. I have had this happen before so i tried exporting all contacts to a .vcf and then importing all of them on the GS4... still some of them are not transfering, any ideas???
Are those contacts having some unusual characters in names or any other contact field, like ä, á, ă, š, ş and so on?
Btw, why don't you use the new Samsung tool to move data from your old phone to the new one?

nope no weird characters... the tool wont work since the usb on my old evo3d is going out
You can try exporting them to an SD card. ( In contacts > import/export > to SD ).
Or try doing it on Gmail directly by uploading the file to gmail once you export it to the SD.
If you tried these and it didnt work, make sure your contact settings is set to display all acounts or sources. ( Contacts > Menu > Contacts to display )

As title says , contacts won't sync , everything else does , im running CM 10.1 and I have 2 Google accounts on my nex. My secondary Google account has everything off except for emails being synced . not sure what the problem is. Last time it synced was may 22nd (as it says in the sync screen)

Wipe the data for contacts storage under all applications. Keep in mind this will permanently erase any contact info not synced to Google's servers. Then, be patient while the device redownloads all of your contacts.
I had this issue once and this fixed it.

Use my phone explorer... Google sync screws up contacts with similar second names. For eg. John Smith and Jason Smith will be grouped under Smith. J... I had a lot of confusion.. Then I bumped into mpe.. Its simple.. Its straight forward... But u need a laptop or a comp(which I assume u do) try it.. U will not regret it..

A friend had sync turned off in his s4. I exported his contacts to microsd using contacts-export to sd. Now when i tried to import the vcf file to the s5, i can not figure out how to. The s4 has been factory reset and sold so there is no way to sync to google servers. Jow can i transfer the contacts.vcf to the s5?
I guess you could import vcf to Google on a computer then synchronize with S5.

You can do it on the S5. Open contacts. Go to the settings menu(top right 3 dots). Go to settings, then you will get a screen that says Call and Contacts. Open Contacts and you will see Import/export option
