OK so I was at work and missed the chance to get the nexus 4 again! Supposedly gonna take 7-8 weeks now to ship according to mobilesyrup. NOw if I do get the chance to get the Nexus 4 again in a couple weeks, I will recieve it in March or Feb. My question is that is it worth it to get a November phone in Feb? Now I have a **** lg xenon and gossip which I could last out till next year for the Nexus 5, or I might get the s4. Should I wait?
What is expected from Nexus 5 and S4
-1080p screen
-10-12mp camera
-2ghz processor estimate
-2gb ram or maybe 2.5-3gb
-5inch screen
-Quad core maybe more?
Overall I think the smartphone as we know it is going through a transition phase so should I wait? I don't have enough money to get a new phone every year like some people. I buy a phone for 2-3 years. Will I be stuck with old technology with this phone?
-WHAT THE FUUDGE SHOULD I DOOO????
Mod please move to q&a if you think that is were it should be!

You're asking us for advice to speculate on a phone that is unreleased (better yet, a year away)?
Yes, get the Nexus 5. Historically, a newer Nexus is better than an older Nexus. Might need confirmation on that though.

Only you can answer the question of whether you should wait. In Feb the nexus 4 will still be a great phone. Is only 3 months old on 2/13. You seem to think your current phone will last to next November for nexus 5. If you think that just wait.
In the end you have to use the device, no one can tell you what to like or what works for you. My wife thinks I'm insane buying a new phone every year. I don't, I like upgrading to the new nexus or whatever the new stock android experience is. Been that way since g1. Just what I like. Others will say go buy a note 2. Since this is the nexus forum you'll find no shortage of posts about how great the nexus 4 is.
Oh, please stop bumping the thread, it's annoying.

No the G2 is successor of the G1. Nexus S is supposed to be for the N1.
The G2 has a better chip than the N1 as it has the next gen snapdragon on it.
first of all you have put up a question in a developer forum . You have three choices right now :
1.T-Mobile G2
2.T-Mobile Nexus S
3.T-Mobile Optimus 2 by LG
You should try the Nexus S with hands on and compare it to the Nexus One.

I did, 8 hours worth at Best Buy
Two things stood out:
1. The Nexus S screen was excellent, both visually and multitouch support
2. The GPU was definitely better when compared on Asphalt 5 and Homerun 3D
But in the end, it wasn't worth the $529 sticker price. It's a good phone, but coming from the Nexus One, it wasn't enough to push me over the edge.
I am so sorry I put my questiooin the wrong forum....

I haven't have a chance to test out the N2, but the spec of N2 just doesn't seem much improve over the N1 for an upgrade. But if you must buy now, I will still choose the N2 over the rest, if not you can wait till next Jan when companies will announces lots of news at the CES.
Yea..wrong place, Q&A please. Thanks

Some of the features will be available on the Nexus 7, some won't and you'll need to get a whole new device costing a small fortune to get the full update. It might break things along the way without giving you a way back.
....but then I remember it's Android and not Apple!

Being part of the whole Nexus line, there's a good chance we'll get 4.2 pushed out when the Nexus 4 and 10 get released. Google will be keen to have its flagship line all under the same version.

I agree. Google made it pretty clear (to me at least) that the Nexus line will be receiving the 4.2 update. There was absolutely no mention of Nexus 7 not receiving certain aspects of the update. I would say that Nexus 7 would receive the update the same day the 4 and 10 are released as well.

Lol well if he meant it as a joke it didn't read like one. Especially since a new device owner was asking about something he deemed a legit concern. If it was meant as a joke then my fault.

Got a reliable source on that? I'm guessing no because it's not true. Google has never released an OS on the day it was announced, and when they announce a new device, they never release the OS for older hardware until the new device is available. So the correct answer is to expect the update in the weeks following the N4/N10 release. Hopefully it will be out within a week, but it can take longer.
Google has said they will start rolling out 4.2 from Nov 11th, 2 days before new devices release.
I just read that the nexus 4's production has been stopped by lg because they are working on a new nexus device. Has anyone heard anything about this?

This will be the single most outrageous thing I've ever read about a smart phone. The phone sells for two hours in total over like 4 months and they kill it for a new phone. They should have just haulted the N4 altogether.

Look everyone. This person talks common sense, and he does it in a thread without any.
XDA may catch fire.
They are assuming a lot in that article...i dont doubt that LG may be working on the next nexus but the writer takes the leap from a quote that says LG is going to release it's next gen phone at WMC to it being the next nexus. I bet LG is going to be releasing some new Optimus phone but not the N4 successor. Even the writer states that the halt in production are just rumors. LG barely launched the nexus 4 as is, maybe they are working on a 5+ inch Nexus. Here's to hoping there's going to be a nexus 5, 6, 8, and 9 to complete the nexus line.
Well duh obviously LG is gonna show off some prototypes and tech at wmc. I'd be more worried if they didn't announce anything. Besides all the stuff from wmc well be lucky to see in stores by Q4.

Uhm, this is essentially the content of the article: "rumours have it that the company seized the production of the smartphone to focus on the development of its future offerings", the rest is just a speculation.

i do... abit for the Z
The Nexus 4 is the perfect phone for me, no doubt about it.
However, being the tech geek that I am there is no doubt in my mind I will grab the Nexus 5 about 6 months after it's released (I don't want to deal with launch-day drama and hardware issues which always seem to plague the initial Nexus releases)
I can say, however, that I will only be buying Nexus phones from now on since they have finally stepped up to the plate with decent hardware and specs. The Gnex was a massive disappointment to me, I sold it within four months of owning it.
Same for me. I had the one x for the last year but it has started giving me trouble by not recognizing the Sim card was in the slot.
I was torn between the nexus 4. HTC one and the galaxy s4.
After much deliberation I went with the nexus 4 and I'm so glad I did.
I owned the nexus one before so I am already accustomed to the nexus experience.
I honestly didn't expect the 4 to be so much better than the one x. Snappier. Better gaming performance and longer battery life.
I'm so glad I switched

Hey all. I know we're all really excited for Google I/O and I was just wondering how accurate the 32GB Nexus 4 rumour was. My GS3 was sent for repair yesterday (for the second time in a year) and was seriously considering getting a Nexus. If there is a bigger storage option being unveiled then I'd quite appreciate it, but if it's unlikely I'll make do with the 16GB. What do people think?
