thats a crazy idea but as many devs are around this beast can a talented one cook a web os port for our nexus 10 as i know now it is open sourcre and i know that if a port is created it will be awesome

Which OS you wish it could be ported to our lovely HTC HD2?Windows phone 7,maemo/meego or android(ginger bread)???
From my own opinion, there is a big chance our devices will be a longest life cycle device in history...from wm6.5 to android froyo to windows phone 7(maybe)...
there is no other devices can experience few OSes at the same time...
give your comments and reasons...
Cheers...
almost there
I myself am excited for my HD2, I'm almost done saving money for it. I think Meego will be great with WP7 on the close second, I'm not so sure about Android.
Win 7 for me, I've yet to be convinced that Android is worth the effort
I'm not gonna say I want the iPhone OS ported because I DON'T, I think it's a limited, boring OS & I wouldn't want to use it full-time, but I *would* like to see an iOS app emulator a la StyleTap. There are a lot of iPhone apps I wish I could use on WinMo & since its now considered a 'dying' OS, there's pretty much zero chance of seeing any iApps ported to it so emulation would be the only option(obviously, actually buying an iPhone would NOT be an option).
windows 7 for me I think it might be easier to port and Im pretty sure htc has a few hd2s in the lab running windows 7 but they just got forgotten
I will vote for meego or any other linux distro before WP7 because we are already deep in to development of the linux kernel. WP7 is still much of a mystery. Android was able to develop so quickly because the HD2's hardware shares much with other android devices by HTC.
meego/android will be my preference.
but i'm slightly more on meego.....
good article..tbh i havnt heard/tried of meego so i dont know what to expect.i think windows7 over Android for me. interesting what you said about hd2 winmo 6.5 being the longest lasting device but wouldnt you rather presumably a htc hd3 running winmo7 with advanced specs than the hd2 when its out? im sure the devs will lose interest building roms for this dying breed of a device.damn you htc!!
You might try to kill the soul but not the body!! this thing has too many souls to simply die away.

I had a Nexus One for the last 5 months and while the port is a worthy attempt is really isn't great and there is a LOT of lag + things not working properly.
For someone who has never had Android and likes their new toy the port will be fine for them but for someone who has actually had an Nexus One for the last 5 months the Hd2 Android port leaves a bitter taste in my mouth
Windows Mobile 6.5 is great for me and the Hd2 fulfills all of my needs with it. If I had to choose an OS I would MUCH rather have Windows Mobile 7 if theres anyway it could be smoother than Android running on the Hd2.

Hi, I am one of the developers in the acer liquid community and I am thinking about upgrading to a HD2. Now I have seen many videos of roms running android pretty well (most cases better then the liquid) but I was wondering if someone could point me to the most up to date device tree for the HD2.
What things are working? What needs improvment? How much is built from source (if not from source, what proprietary binaries/libs are used and where are they from?)
I hope to join the HD2 development!
Welcome to hd2 forums bro, hope you enjoy your stay.
Most of the builds on hd2 was just ports from devices such as nexus one, desire and evo. We never had a build specially made for hd2 because we ran from sdcard instead of ram. Now we have our hands on nand, we will defently see a lot of developers for hd2 coming to make perfect roms instead of just ports. Im really exited to see what hd2 holds for us in feature and sorrry if I did not provide any useful information if you want more and better answers, join irc channel on htc-linux or htc-linux-chat, there is awesome poeole in there.
Edit
Forgot to mention, pretty much everything works so far now, thanks to the awesome hd2 developers behind all this. Trust me, you wont regret making the switch to the hd2.

The source code has been available on github, from the following link , this has been available for some time, but I lack the knowledge, and time to build the ROM, and kernel.
The kernel is a modified CM11 kernel, and the kickstarter file from the repository should setup the rom with all the repo dependencies (including the actual sailfish os part) that it relies on to work, providing I correctly understand what a kickstarter file does.

Is it possible to port it to galaxy s4 i9500?
If yes, can some port it? or can someone teach me how to port? or is there any tutorial for porting it?
This looks Promising ...
I want that ^^ can't weit till we can get a shot at it
yeah, I hope we will get some news soon, I'd fancy a nexus 5 sailfish-rom most of course
Anyhow, it seems the nexus 5 wasn't that of a good choice imo. Sure, it has good specs for that low price, but owning a Nexus S before I thought the N5 is a good choice also towards support for new roms (like the Nexus S was: you always got new / experimental roms for it first). Now the N5 seems to have bad hardware in the way that it is hard to implement in new roms (e.g. find suitable driver) which is a shame. Well, I'm not sure if I'd buy another Nexus phone again, thankfully there are many alternatives now (the fairphone, jolla phones etc).
Umm.. Guys? The rom has been out for over a month already.

Dear Developers,
I saw a few days ago that the Nexus 5 got a Developer Preview of Android L.
I wonder if it's possible to port the Nexus 5 rom to the Galaxy Note 3. Since the phones are very simular in specs.
The Developer img can be find here: http://developer.android.com/preview/setup-sdk.html
If this would be possible, i would thank the dev a 1000 times.
Greetings, Paul
From what I understand is that Android L is still under heavy developing, I don't think we'll see a ROM for Android L in a couple of months. Besides, even if we would, it would be buggy as hell I believe.
That is more of an alpha build and it's mostly for developers to give them an early idea how the os runs, so they can port apps before the official release is out.
The final version will most likely be out with the nexus 6.
I have been using different custom roms on devices since the good old Windows Phone 6 era, continuing with android Roms on the HTC Desire to just use it on all Android phones I have been using since. I really have been appreciating it, however it feels like I have never bothered to contributing to the rom-scene. I think it is my time to pay back.
So I'm very happy to see a that the bootloader got unlocked, and I'm basically just waiting for the bumped Roms to pop up. However I want to contribute this time.
In a Rom I'm basically looking for the vanilla android feeling, nothing fancy, just good battery life, stability and cleanliness. Is there any project that is looking for some development help, message me or tell me how to get involved!
I'm a developer professionally with an Engineering degree in Computer Science (MSc in Computer Science), I have developed a few apps for Android, I know Java, JavaScript, C++ and use Linux exclusively, I hope this is good for anyone who is going to start up a AOSP project or even start to work on a Cyanogen build.
