the thing is that u talk about the system files of CM10 and to get them running u not only need to change the phone.apk and contacts.apk from CM10, u also need to modified the framework from CM7. this is a lot of work and there are so many apps on PlayStore that can change the call screen and the contacts settings in some with HD pictures.
Can u suggest a good one ?cause i tried a lot of them and wasn't happy !!

I used such apps way back on stock froyo and don't had the names in my mind and since we can delete PlayStore history, I have delete all apps that not installed.

I am running rubix focused and love it but I miss the stock messaging app that allowed you to view the emails in a small window. Is it possible to get and use that stock app or is there a similar app that will work as well as the OEM?
Also, is it possible to get the free version of Quick Office that came with 2.2.1 and use it with the rubix rom? Thanks.
Check sysadmin-x's guide to flashing a new rom... i feel like that would help your situation

Ok, so some of the apps are part of blur-as in you can't simply find them in the old 2.2.1 files and use them on a custom rom?
Thanks for the reply.
You can... if you're using rubix try the blurry version as it allows you to restore the blur via a tookbox i believe.... I'm on apex that allows you to restore blur via scripts

Thanks I will give it a try. I didn't know if you could simply install the bur camera and camcorder onto focused.
I really like the slide down from status bar msg notification from the latest mui rom.
Is there an app that has that feature? Im really bored with the popup notifications

35 minutes? seriously? have some patience
i used to copy MIUI music apk to typhoon CM7 because i liked the music app and i dont like MIUI. maybe you can do that. just find the apk from miui system/app and copy it to CM7 rom. and dont forget about permission. really important.
the slide down notification maybe a little hard. maybe you need to just give it a try.
ok will give it a try tom
thanks for the heads up!
I was using version 9.2 of passion rom and had the inverted black mms with blue icons.
I tried reapplying the zip for v10 and it wont work...
So i tried pushing the apk file, and all the mms will do now is force close if i try to open it..
I guess v10 is causing some conflict v 9.2 doesnt, but i cannot stand the blinding white mms...
Ive always been curious... why is the stock messaging app always so basic and optionless? You would think that since anyone who has an android obviously texts that you would make the messaging app cool? Instead u have to download a third party messaging app from the market.. doesnt make sense to me as i would think they would be simple changes... any feedback?
Thanks to anyone who knows about this mms deal on v10!

anyone have a solution?
I am using an inverted mms.apk but I'm not sure if its the same one you're talking about. Mine has grey icons and all I have to do is install the apk from the phone and it replaced the system app. I got it from the I9000 apps forum. Try searching there. Its just an .apk, not a .zip.

Will check it out, thank you gtoman

Um, it works. I've been running it for two days on 4.0.3 without an issue.
Maybe try it before you shoot it down.

I can confirm it works. You have to push it as a system app

MAYBE I DID TRY IT? It will not work, FC. Before you say something snobby, you should assume by me writing back that I HAVE TRIED IT?

Whatever kid, we have a confirmation it works, I was testing out the three new modded versions of it last night and they all work. Just because you can't figure it out, doesn't mean its not working for everyone else.
And I am just supposed to assume to know what you have done?? That childish to think someone will just know what you have done and assume you have tried anything at all without you relating that information.
Did you ever think it could be that dirty ass neobuddy rom you are running? As this mms has confirmation of working on ICS on multiple devices, but errors out on one I have heard of, YOURS!
But you know what, have fun kid, if you can't take advice from a dev, and want to act like a ****, then thats your perrogative, but I am officially done with you ****ing kids.
I'm not an idiot, and it just force closes on my phone. It's not that hard to push a file.
Anyways, thanks for your suggestion. I had assumed it didn't work because lof the 4.0.3 / 4.0.2 difference but maybe it's something else.
I will try a fresh install of passion and see if that possible resolves the issue.
Thank you.
Here's what I did:
1] rename original Mms.apk to mms.apk.bak
2] move the inverted mms.apk to system/app
3] make sure permissions match
4] reboot
If that doesn't work then yeah install passion fresh. That's what I'm on now and those steps above is all that I do.

Hi guys. I have looked high and low but can't seem to find the fix for a problem I am having. Some apps (mainly gmail and tecarta niv bible) have tabs that do not show up on this rom. I could really use some help: gmail looks totally ugly and is difficult to read. Its mostly white.

I'm making this post for a friend. She has a T-Mobile G2 and apparently when using sending text messages (via stock app) messages fail if the persons message is themed. Deleting Cache and resetting will help for a little while, but eventually will do it again. Text Messages sent without any custom themes are sent fine. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

No, this is for a friend who was having trouble, stock rom, non-rooted. I did a search and didn't find anyone with the same issue, I thought maybe someone on here would know a work around... or anyone know of a good third party messaging app that allows to have individual themes for different people?
