Oh, here you go i found this, however i have am not sure if it will work on stock though. I would think the Odexed version would work. I would make a nandroid backup though just in case.

Edit: Wait i didnt see you had stock recovery. You would have to flash CWM or TWRP recovery to be able to flash this zip. I dont think you can get tablet UI in 4.2 anymore with DPI changes.
You can try with an alternative launcher Like apex or nova launchers

I thought it's not possible to have a tablet UI in 4.2.x because Google unified the tablet/phone interface.

I don't think stock android has tablet mode anymore. Paranoid is working just fine. I use Tablet-Mid.

Hi guys this is the first time i have rooted and flashed a device. I managed rooting my N7 and flashing PA Rom and Motley kernel. Now I want to flash back to stock rom and update to 4.1.2 via OTA or directly flash the official 4.1.2 pure stock. However I still want to maintain root and CWM. Is this possible? Can someone please help me out with details as kind of a noob. I even want to understand how Titanium Backup works. If i backup my apps and then do a factory reset while flashing a new rom how does the backup remain if everything is lost in factory reset. Thanks a lot for helping.

Do it manually like I did, its just as quick as the OTA, you keep all your files and I didn't loose root, was done in 5 mins.
Heres the thread to the manual tutorial:

Good question, That I couldn't tell you mate because I don't use custom ROM's. I shouldn't see why not, give it a go and let us know the results?

The update can only be applied to a completely stock rom, if you have made any changes to the rom(build.prop edits, etc) the zip will fail to flash

You need a stock RUU, but I'm not sure where to find those. Once you have the stock RUU, adb push the update and your all strawberries and cream
The update will fail if build.prop is modifed and most custom roms modify that. So it would be safer to flash stock image and sideload the update.
Or else wait for the custom ROM developer to incorporate those changes.
Hi, I got an update (i think its 4.0.4) for my country and I couldn´t update it. I clicked on install but in recovery it was aborted. What is a reason?
I have clockworkmod + root. I tried some ROMs but i want to stay beside samsung fw.
Thx.
Hi.
I think you have to be on stock unrooted firmware with stock recovery, but i'm not sure.
OK, i have backup of stock rom, but how i can delete custom recovery?
What device do you have?

Then, the easiest way is to flash either RomsWell or Tab2Lite RC3. They are all stock JB ROMs
I would like to instal stock rom, is it possible to restore recovery? Now i have clockwork mod and because of it i cant update to 4.0.4 and then to 4.1.1.
Hi. I wondrer if you managed to fix your problem? I have the same situation and I'm looking for a way to fix it.

Use ODIN to flash OEM firmware. Lots of tutorial information on this site. Please search.
Cheers
I don't care about the stock ROM, I just want to get rid of the update notification. Is there a build prop edit that will do it? If so, could someone explain how? This is how it was done on my old Dinc, so if there is a simpler way, let me know. Thanks.

People need to be more clear , give more detail when you ask a question. You should not be getting update notices if you are not on the stock firmware. If you are on a custom ROM and still get notices, ask the OP developers of the ROM why.
Sorry, I am on stock firmware, rooted with CWM recovery. I rooted before I took the update. Now It nags me to update, but won't allow it. I will probably look for a stock 4.04 ROM, but was happy with it the way it is because it is for my 8 year old. I was in the same boat as the OP. Thanks.

Well, I have Root + CWM, I was wondering the same because I didn't want to try the update on my rooted P3113 to avoid any problem. Finally I decided to try it because the notification was getting me nuts. It downloaded the update, tried to install it and gave me an error message. Told me to try the installation manually with Kies and stopped appearing
When the phone reboot to install 4.2.2 it shows CWM interface and a list a series of "no" then a "install zip file anyway" and when i select that i get another error that says the zip file update is incorrect. I've nexus root toolkit installed and just added OTA RootKeeper to try to preserve root access.
How can i get 4.2.2 installed properly?
thx!
That's because you have a custom recovery, you need to have stock recovery in order to update 4.2.2 from Google OR Flash a custom rom with 4.2.2 and be happy
Thanks a bunch for the clarification! So i guess there is no "easy" way to temporally disable the custom recovery then? What would an example of a fine tuned custom rom with 4.2.2?

I used CWM to flash to 4.2.2 however CWM gave me a message telling me that I would loose root with the update. Then it asked me to click to fix and I was able to flash 4.2.2 and not loose root

Any chance you could share the steps you took to do the 4.2.2 upgrade through CWM?
Thx!

I'd like to enable the encryption, and I've been told you need stock recovery for that. How can I root the N4 and install CM10.1 but keep the stock recovery, and encryption working? To add extra complexity, I only have access to OS X 10.8.2 at home and at work.
Thanks!
PS: Please make this n00b friendly.

Not sure about the encryption part, that would be the first time I have ever heard that. Why you would need a stock recovery? But you can fastboot boot recovery instead of fastboot flash the recovery.

I believe that is incorrect. You can fastboot boot recovery instead of fastboot flash recovery then flash whatever you want afaik anyway. I have never used fastboot boot for anything other then to flash the su zip but i see no reason why it wouldnt work. The real question is why would you want to?
I want to have the full encryption enabled since this is a work device but. I heard it doesn't work with custom recovery.

I have been told twrp does support it thou its still untested. The dev doesn't have a nexus 4 to test with but he did say it works on the n7
regardless thou, all that would mean is you might not be able to backup a rom thats encrypted if twrp don't work. It has nothing to do with anything else. you cant make a backup on a stock recovery anyway

So I am assuming that Android 4.3 will take a while after the announcement to reach our Nexus 4 devices. Is there anyway to use the dialer from the leaked 4.3 ROM in the current stock 4.2.2? I would really love to have T9 dialing capabilities. Thanks!

Wrong forum.
But, why don't you try it by your self. Download android 4.3 ROM takeout the dialer and flash it.

Do I need to flash a new ROM or is there some MOD? I am rooted, but I do not wish to flash a custom ROM. I am happy with stock.
Which is the ROM that you have shown in your screenshot?

Most custom ROMs have that. You can always use a vanilla type ROM like Saber mod.

ok do you not flash a rom because you are worried about something? Honestly I see no reason for anyone preferring stock over a rom thats stockish with choices.
If you are rooted already then get your hands on the zip file and extract what you need and either adb or place it in an update zip and try it out. Backup first
