there is a method to enable multitouch on my ideos?
i've read about the screen is capacitive and not resistive maybe there is a software block to disable it
anyone have a solution?
reagards
Impossible due to HW limitations. Soneone simulated it on a Kaiser (tilt) but was pretty useless.... Hmmm maybe it was on WM and nit Android, can't remember.

It was WM...I remember trying it on my TP2...not really an upgrade at the time.

this is interesting because some programs seens to "detect" when i perform a multitoutch, like if i press 2 points on the screen it give me back a midle point on the screens, dont it means that it can see where im clicking on 2 points on the screen?
It just detects it like one giant finger-press.
..it gets the median.
Basically you have a finger the size of a fist
I'm thinking of buying this tablet and did some research and found the following video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_kg96ZX6yA
At about 2:20 mark, it seems there is multitouch but as the quality of the sound is not very good I can't make out what he said.
Does anyone know what the person says at that point?

That's a video of the new Huawei tablet with a capacitive screen. It should be out soon. See the description below the video: The new Huawei Ideos S7 second generation Android tablet phone showing off its phone function, Google Maps A-GPS locking and playing the Angry Birds Seasons game.
Thanks. Didn't see that.

Hello Galaxy Tab Plus forum!
I'm interested in purchasing this tablet and I was wondering, is this the right forum for the tablet? If not, can someone direct me to the correct one?
Thank you in advance!
Picked one up myself (great device for the money). There is no specific forum or root method yet.
good day.
seems like quite a few on ebay. Including w/3G. all selling for under $300. Appear to be from good sellers too. Hmmm.
Havent found anywhere else advertising the 3G model. under $300 for a dual-core 7" ICS phone, not too shabby.
edit: that 3g model may be incorrectly posted on ebay.
Chiming in to say hi as well. Picked up my Tab 2 7.0 on opening day and have been very happy with it. Be nice if it catches on and we get a kick-ass dev community behind it!
i think the '3G' model you see on eBay is probably the Tab 7 Plus...which is a pretty good deal if it is brand new...
i picked up my Tab2 on Sunday morning from BB....really great device for the price...
yes, looking forward to some rooting as well
The requirements for my tablet had to be cheap and powerful, yet not gigantic. I wanted something I could browse the internet with without breaking out the 15 inch laptop. I love how it runs ICS stock too.
FYI I have some dead pixels on mine! Actually it's as if someone had some light on their fingertips & wiped it on the screen (it's not dirt or smudges on the screen). It's strange. I am sending it in under warranty so hopefully I'll get it back soon! Check all of your screens out (get an all black screensaver).
I did notice that the Tab 2 lags on quite some games I have tried. Temple run is one of them so its not for casual gaming.

The first one I got at BestBuy had a dead pixel and loose volume rocker. I took it back for exchange and opened before I left the store. They brought out two, opened them up and both had dead pixels! Finally they brought out #4 and it had a perfect screen. The dead pixels were black, easily visible on a white background.

I'm kinda nervous now. I was planning on buying mine on Amazon, but now I'm not so sure. I don't want to have to deal with sending it back through the mail and waiting for days.
Hmm mine has opposite of dead pixels then! On a black background smudges of light come through!
I'd go ahead and get one from amazon. They are quick with exchanges and replacements. Speak to customer service and ask them to cross ship if you need to.

My Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, doesn't lag on games. I got it on opening day and have been running, temple run and n64oid on it. Its been fine. I haven't tried Shadowgun yet, but it should run alright. If it can run good on my old Kindle Fire, it can run smooth on the tab 2.
My 2 7.0 tab shows 4.2GB available on tablet and not 8GB. I am sure this is normal, but just checking. Can someone confirm the same?
Thx...
Yes 4gb for me too. Also i just played Shadowgun...its smooth during gameplay but it crashed twice.

I found a new bug. While watchin a movie stream from Google movies, i hit the volume rocker and the video turns black and the audio stutters. The volume bar appears sometimes but if it does, it doesnt move when i hit the volume. If i do this too much, my whole device reboots. This happens on a fresh out of the box device with nothing else installed. It continues to happen even after i update the Play Movies software. Does not happen while streaming youtube.
Can anyone else see if this happens to them as well before i return this device a 2nd time?

Was a 4gb sd card supposed to come with this tablet? Mine also reads 4gb.
The user partition is only 4.2gb. That's the size of the volume mounted under /sdcard. The entire drive itself is 8gb, but ~4gb is in the seperate root partition of the drive firmware and recovery. This is true with most phones and tablets, a section of it is reserved for operating system use.
I picked up a 32gb class 10 microsd for $20 USD from NewEgg. Cheap and easy enough to add extra storage.

Anyone know when we get our own forum/cat? It would be helpful to further development on this tab.
I use this as a deskclock and "wake up to lazy to get out of bed and go to my computer desk to check news" device. Would like root to run clocksync automatically to sync to atomic time.
-------
Anyone notice the distinct lack of the standard android Clock / DeskClock application? Nowhere. Trying to push a apk from CM9 of it over ADB resulting in it saying it was already there and such which is funny as there's no shortcuts to it.

3110 and 3113 has anyone tried this to root 3113?
I was able to use odin to load ClockworkMod Recovery 5.5.0.4 on my GT-P3113 and then flash for root with Superuser and busybox.
Thanks to nycbjr and xoomdev on RootzWiki...
You must use new Kies for 3113 to get correct driver for windows.
Anyone tried it and get it to work? I have tried several times with contacts pictures and Web pages but nothing happens. Nfc is enabled on both devices.

I tried doing it with my GSG3 and i was able to get "Touch to beam" pop up a couple of times trying to beam a youtube video just to see if it worked and it never did
NFC tags are working ok.
I was able to get them to work. Just remember the NFC antenna locations. The Galaxy Nexus uses the battery and the Nexus 7 has a spot pretty high up on the back of the device.
I transfered some short video clips and they automatically switch to Bluetooth and transfer the file. Once it is done it shuts Bluetooth back off.
Just make sure you are touching them together in the right places and it should work just fine.

Make sure both screens are on and unlocked....hold the galaxy nexus up to the big nexus logo on the back of the nexus 7 and you should get the android beam jingle.
Touch whichever screen you're trying to beam. photos go through bluetooth so it'll temporarily turn on bluetooth to send and then turn back off.
Got it to work first try on my nexus s 4g. I had to put the Google logo on the ns4g to the x in nexus. It makes sound when they get close then the screen will shrink and say touch to beam at the top. Tap the screen and it will transfer.

ya its all about placement. Held the battery of my gnex up to the top of my Nexus 7 and Wham! 2 Nexus 7 works just back to back
I am not sure if the NFC chip in my N7 is working. It is definitely on and Android Beam is on. I tried sharing everything from a picture, contact, YouTube video to my Galaxy Nexus and nothing is happening. There is no sound, no acknowledgement that anything is being transmitted, even using the placement in the above pictures. I've tried turning both NFC/Android Beam on and off, along with restarting the N7. I know the Galaxy Nexus works as I have used Google Wallet, and I just downloaded an NFC reader and it picked up on an ID card I have. I tried a similar NFC reader app on the N7 and nothing was picked up at all when I held it over the Nexus area. Any advice...or am I just completely missing something? Everything else about the tablet is perfect, so if this isn't working right then that will be a major bummer.

You see the Samsung Logo on your Galaxy Nexus? Press it against the Nexus logo on the N7. If it's not working, you're not doing something right.
I can't speak for the Nexus but I can confirm that NFC works flawlessly with my Evo 4G LTE. Just have to make sure that you are lining up the NFC areas of both devices.

Mine is working fine, VZW on 4.1.1, as others have said make sure you line the battery up with Nexus on the tablet. It will then say touch to beam
Same issue
I'm having the same issue as OP. I have GSM Gnex and N7 from play store, 4.1.1 on both. When sharing from GN to N7, the GN will vibrate, then the Touch To Beam will come up, but then go away. Split second later, it will vibrate and TTB will come up again. Repeat ad nauseum. I cannot get it to stay in "beam mode" for it to actually beam. I have gotten it to stick for a few seconds and let me tap, where I see the thing shrink intospace, but it never get's very far before it leaves TTB mode. Nothing happens at all if I turn NFC or android beam off on my N7, so the GNex is at least detecting it. When I try and share from N7 to Gnex, the Gnex will vibrate, but nothing happens on either screen. I think my N7 is defective either hardware or software wise. I will take both to a cellphone store that has NFC android devices and try and share with them, to narrow down if it's the Gnex, N7, or both that have issues. I do not know of any nearby places to try Wallet with. Of course if I find an issue, it's an hour and a half wait on the phone for me
I have no problem using NFC on my N7 with my Gnex... must be software or hardware related... Hope you guys didn't switch battery since the NFC chip is inside.

Thanks for this! Was worried either my N7 or GNex had a defective NFC, looks like it's all in the placement.
NFC Galaxy Nexus
Sorry for an old thread bump,
I was trying to use NFC to transfer a video from a friend's SGS3 to my Galaxy Nexus both on ICS 4.0.4 ( only I am using a custom ROM AOKP). There is a distinct jingle that is audible and I can confirm that but there is no other option available to transfer.
Am i missing something here? Am i supposed to turn my bluetooth on and start sharing over bluetooth for NFC? Android Beam is working for contacts and other small stuff but I am talking about NFC here.
Kindly mention the steps required. I am overlooking something and want to use this feature badly as there is a lot of data transfer going on.
Thanks.
The only thing that should happen after the audible ding is the screen will/should shrink down. You tap the screen. Should transfer over to the other device.

This! I tried forever to find the "sweet spot" (that's what she said), and it works fine once you find out its in the upper third of the device when held in portrait orientation and centered left to right.
I just bought MHL2.0 adapter for my galaxy s4
but it didn't works with my Samsung SyncMaster B2230 LCD :crying:
I tried with different HDMI cables to connect MHL2.0 and LCD but it keep showing crash screen
After that I tried on my Panasonic Viera LCD TV (bought in 2008 or 2009) and it works fine !
It just show 720p screen because my TV only can support up to 720p
So can anyone help me to solve this issue ?
or Monitor should support MHL then only can works ? like Samsung S23B550V ?
P.S. Sorry for my bad English
Can anybody help me ?
Dont know about your problem but mine just arrived and im quite hacked off. I thought the whole reason for the mhl 2.0 was it didnt require external power to work but it does. Without external power mine does nothing !

Mine works with and without a charger plugged in, using the official Samsung S4 MHL cable.
Well that's wierd then. Mine is an official one too. Although I am using it through my appradio which might not be chucking out enough power. Ill try it through my tv and see if that works without power
